Description

The invention relates to a busbar for the power supply of movable electricity consumers with a current collector movable along the busbar, consisting of an open cross-section metal profile and a metal profile receiving, substantially U-shaped insulating profile made of plastic, the metal profile between the two U-flanges of the insulating profile has a grinding surface and, on the side facing away from the grinding surface, has a connector connection surface in a longitudinal rail cavity. - Open cross section means in the context of the invention that the metal profile is not a completely closed hollow profile.

Busbars of the type mentioned are known in practice in various embodiments. The connector connection surface of such busbars is required, in particular at the ends of the busbar, for connecting further busbars and must therefore be exposed to produce the electrical contact. In the known busbars of the type mentioned, the longitudinal rail cavity is more or less covered by the metal profile. In any case, the insulating profile is produced separately from the metal profile, whereupon the metal profile is inserted into the insulating profile. The design is usually made so that the metal profile alone meets all requirements in terms of stability, while the insulating profile is practically only an insulating aid. Basically, of course, there is an effort to manufacture such busbars cheapen. In this respect, we are generally familiar with the technology of extruding plastic profiles onto metal profiles. However, this technique encounters difficulties in the present case because, for technical reasons, the grinding surface and the connector connection surface cannot remain free during the extrusion of the insulating jacket. In fact, the metal profile with an open cross section fluctuates in thickness. In the extrusion tool, the metal profile can be adapted to corresponding tool surfaces either with the grinding surface or the connector connection surface, so that no plastic can get there. However, due to the unavoidable fluctuations in thickness in the metal profile, it cannot be prevented that the other surface is covered by a covered plastic layer of the insulating profile. Of course, this is annoying for later use, since the corresponding area has to be exposed, but this usually causes considerable difficulties.

The invention has for its object to simplify a busbar of the type mentioned so that it is inexpensive to manufacture, but does not cause any problems in functional terms.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the insulating profile extruded onto the metal profile in the area of the grinding surface and / or the connector connection surface consists of a different plastic than the rest of the insulating profile.

The invention is based on the knowledge that the covering of the grinding surface and / or the connector connection surface is accepted in the course of the extrusion of the insulating profile can be achieved if you work with two different plastics that do not form a particularly strong bond with one another in the course of extrusion. The other plastic located in the area of the grinding surface or the connector connection surface can then be pulled off relatively easily or pushed back into the longitudinal rail cavity when using the busbar.

There are several possibilities for the further configuration within the scope of the invention. A preferred embodiment is recommended in which the metal profile is essentially flat in the area of the grinding surface and the connector connection surface and is anchored in the insulating profile with angled longitudinal edges. The advantage here is that relatively little material is required for the metal profile due to the U-shape. The required stability of the conductor rail as a whole can easily be achieved in combination with the insulating profile, especially since the metal profile and the insulating profile are firmly connected to one another. A particularly suitable material combination for the insulating profile is made of polyethylene in the area of the grinding surface or the connector connection surface, otherwise of hard polyvinyl chloride.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing which represents an exemplary embodiment, the sole figure of which shows a busbar in cross section.

The busbar shown in the figure is used to supply power to movable power consumers with pantographs that can be moved along the busbar. In its basic structure, it consists of an open cross-section having metal profile 1 and a metal profile 1 receiving, substantially U-shaped insulating profile 2 made of plastic. The metal profile 1 is provided between the two U-flanges 3 of the insulating profile 2 with a grinding surface 4 and on the side facing away from the grinding surface 4 in a longitudinal rail cavity 5 with a connector connection surface 6.

As is readily apparent from the figure, the insulating profile 2 extruded onto the metal profile 1 in the area of the grinding surface 4 and in the area of the connector connection area 6 is made of a different plastic 7 than the rest of the insulating profile, specifically the insulating profile in the area of the grinding area 4 or the connector pad 6 made of polyethylene, but otherwise made of hard polyvinyl chloride. The polyethylene strips 7 can be easily pulled off or removed.

The metal profile 1 is more or less U-shaped, i.e. H. in the area of the grinding surface 4 and connector connection surface 6, the metal profile 1 is essentially flat, while it is anchored in the insulating profile 2 with longitudinal edges 8 which are angled toward the free ends of the U-flanges 3 of the insulating profile 2.
