Abstract

A knapsack has at least one stiffening element (2) received in pockets (6) provided on the back wall (3) and concavely curved (seen from outside) at least in parts, in the longitudinal and/or transversal direction. The stiffening element (2) concavely deforms the back wall (3) in the longitudinal and/or transversal directions. An elastic support band (4) extends between a lower area of the stiffening element (2) and a supporting net (5) stretched in the upper area of the stiffening element (2), bridging the concavity. This support band (4) can for example extend between a lower marginal area of the stiffening element (2) and the supporting net (5). In order to make it easier to mount and dismount the knapsack, and to ensure a reliable seat of the same, the stiffening element (2) is a flat one-piece element, provided if necessary with openings, which when it is curved is releasably stretched in the longitudinal and transversal directions only by its upper and lower ends between upper and lower pockets (6) in the back wall (3).

Description

The invention relates to a backpack with at least one at least partially in the longitudinal direction and / or in the transverse direction - seen from the outside - concavely curved stiffening element accommodated in pockets provided on the rear wall, by means of which the rear wall is concavely deformed in the longitudinal direction and / or in the transverse direction , with a between a lower region of the stiffening element, for example between an elastic support band running transversely in the lower edge region of the stiffening element and an upper region of the stiffening element.

Such a backpack is known from EP-B-0 158 154. In this case, two individual essentially vertical stiffening parts which run upwards towards one another are provided, which are connected to one another on their underside by a horizontally running further stiffening part. The upper ends of the vertical stiffening parts are connected to one another by an additional horizontal web which projects laterally beyond the ends of the vertical stiffening parts. About that The upper horizontal web has an elastic support over which a support network runs. This should allow air ventilation in the back area when carrying the backpack. In terms of production technology and assembly technology, however, the solution made for this is complex. In addition, the framework of vertical and horizontal stiffening parts and webs requires that it be practically completely accommodated in a back pocket.

From EP-A-0 273 087 a backpack with a flexible frame arranged on the rear wall is known, in which a separate tensioning strap is provided for tensioning the frame in the longitudinal direction. The frame has an upper and a lower cross bar, the cross bars being fastened to the rear wall by means of tape loops. The strap can be fixed between rows of slots in the upper and lower section of the frame, the tension in the longitudinal direction can be varied by fastening the strap in different slots of the frame.

The object of the present invention is to design a backpack of the type mentioned in such a way that, while maintaining air ventilation in the back area of the backpack carrier, the manufacture, assembly and disassembly of the means essentially provided for this purpose in order to reduce the manufacturing costs are not only simplified, but also the wearing of Backpack become more comfortable.

This object is achieved in accordance with the invention essentially in that the stiffening element is designed as a one-piece plate-shaped component, optionally provided with openings, which, under curvature, is releasably clamped in the longitudinal and transverse directions only with its upper and lower ends between upper and lower pockets of the back wall, and the stiffening element to set can be inserted or removed from the backpack with elastic bending in the pocket of the rear wall or can be removed from the pockets.

For the back bracing, therefore, only a single, easy-to-manufacture element is required, which can be completely assembled and disassembled on the backpack with the support net in a few simple steps. The stiffening element according to the invention only needs to be accommodated with its upper end in a short pocket which is open at the bottom, because the plate-shaped configuration ensures that the rear wall is deformed concavely, everywhere is kept at a sufficient distance from the support network. Due to the short upper pocket, not only is material savings possible, but also the assembly and disassembly of the stiffening element is made easier. Openings can also be provided in the stiffening element to save material on the one hand, and on the other hand to facilitate the required curvature and tension of the stiffening element during assembly. In the case of the stiffening element according to the invention, an upper, laterally projecting horizontal web is also avoided, which, due to its shape, easily leads to wear through the pocket.

In the upper end of the stiffening element, slit-shaped openings or depressions arranged next to one another can preferably be provided, through which tabs or loops provided at the upper end of the supporting net for tensioning the supporting net are guided in the longitudinal direction. The loops can be determined, for example, by pushing a crossbar through all the loops after being pushed through the openings on the back of the stiffening element. The plurality of openings or depressions arranged next to one another ensure that the supporting net lies against the stiffening element over a large area and does not move laterally and folds.

The assembly and disassembly of the support net can be simplified significantly compared to the prior art in the invention in that the upper end of the stiffening element is also accommodated in a mesh pocket of the support mesh for its tension in the longitudinal direction, the clear width of the mesh pocket preferably only slightly bigger than that Width of the upper end of the stiffening element, so that a temporal slipping of the support network is avoided. In contrast to the above-mentioned prior art, the support net does not need to be guided over an elastic support, which is required there to cushion the upper crossbar. As a result, the support network can be given a greater voltage.

In a special embodiment of the invention, the stiffening element and / or the support element - tapering upwards in its width - is approximately trapezoidal, since this ensures good stability, permanent elasticity, easy assembly and good adaptation to the edges of the backpack carrier can. The stiffening element and / or the support net thus approach / approach the shape of the backpack, which tapers somewhat upwards.

In the context of the invention it can further be provided that the stiffening element is received at its lower edge with projections pointing to the side in lower pockets of the rear wall which are designed as transverse pockets which are open towards the vertical center line of the support network. In contrast to the prior art, no special transverse stiffening part is required for clamping at the lower end, but only the lateral extension of the single plate-shaped stiffening element. The projections do not need to protrude beyond the side edge of the, for example, trapezoidal stiffening element. It is only important that the distance between the outer edges of the two mutually opposite projections is dimensioned such that the stiffening element is also clamped transversely with the aid of the transverse pockets, as a result of which with secure mounting, a desired concave curvature in the transverse direction of the stiffening element can also be easily maintained in its lower region.

For the absorption of the tensioning forces, it is advantageous if the transverse pockets are formed at the ends of a transverse belt attached to the rear wall over a large area. The cross belt can run at approximately the same height as the support band.

The assembly and disassembly of the support net at its lower end can be accomplished in a simple manner in that the support net itself or the transverse support band attached to the support net at the bottom, which also serves to support the back of the backpack carrier, by means of the lateral projections, preferably by means of In the area of the projections provided locking ribs and eyelets, for example is braced transversely at both ends of the support band. Due to the transverse tension, the eyelets are reliably held on the locking ribs, so that the transverse tension of the support band is always guaranteed despite simple assembly and disassembly.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the stiffening element has an extension protruding upward beyond its concavely curved support area, with preferably slot-shaped openings for the passage of tabs or loops provided at the upper end of the support network and / or of shoulder straps. This configuration is particularly suitable for higher backpacks, in order to ensure that the backpack area is stiffened in the shoulder area of the backpack carrier. At the same time, as mentioned, the extension can be used to clamp the support net and to position the shoulder straps. Ensure the multiple openings and tabs or loops a flat system of the support network. The openings can be staggered at different heights so that a more or less long support net can be used or the shoulder straps can be guided more or less far up through the extension, depending on the body size of the backpack wearer.

Another feature of the invention is that the clear width of the upper pocket on the rear wall is only slightly larger than the width of the upper end of the stiffening element. This ensures, despite the relatively small depth of the pocket, that the stiffening element does not move back and forth when carried. At the same time, however, simple assembly remains ensured.

For the assembly and the later function, it can also be of considerable advantage if, according to a further feature of the invention, the stiffening element is already slightly concave in the longitudinal direction and / or transverse direction in its non-clamped state in any case in its contact region which is concavely curved in the clamped state. As a result, the stiffening element can be compressed more easily in the longitudinal or transverse direction so that it is possible to insert it comfortably into the rear pockets for clamping the stiffening element, the stiffening element then being able to assume a greater curvature than before, so that the clamping is reliable Stiffening element on the back wall is guaranteed.

The upper extension of the stiffening element can be slightly convexly curved both before and after the stiffening element is clamped. Needs in this area the support mesh for ventilation is no longer to be kept at a distance from the stiffening element. In cross-section, the stiffening element thus has an approximately S shape, which has a favorable influence on the clamping characteristic.

The stiffening element according to the invention is preferably made of plastic, on the one hand because of the relatively easy manufacture, but on the other hand to reduce the weight.

With relatively thin plate-shaped material for the stiffening element, longitudinal and / or transverse reinforcing ribs can be provided, preferably in the edge regions. This will further reduce the weight.

In order to make carrying the invented backpack even more comfortable, the support band at the lower end of the support net can be provided with a support cushion, which preferably extends beyond the lateral projections of the stiffening element. The pad is thus in front of the lower edge area of the stiffening element and adapts to the back of the backpack wearer when the backpack is carried in the lower area.

A stabilization of the backpack when carried can be achieved in that the shoulder straps are connected to one another via a chest strap which is provided with an openable closure and is preferably elastic at least in some areas. As a result, the backpack with the support net is securely held against the back of the backpack wearer, which is also possible due to the existing ventilation.

This ease of carrying the backpack can be supplemented by the fact that the transverse belt, which forms the transverse pockets for accommodating the lateral extensions at the lower edge of the stiffening element, is extended to an openable closure, preferably at least partially elastic, padded waist belt. The pads provided here lie in the hip area on the body of the backpack wearer, which, combined with a certain pre-tensioning of the waist belt, further stabilizes the backpack on the back of the backpack wearer.

The backpack according to the invention can be adapted to the body size of the backpack wearer, for example, by connecting the shoulder straps, which are preferably adjustable in length, via length-adjustable additional straps for adjusting the shoulder area, i.e. the apex, of the shoulder straps above the stiffening element to the rear wall.

The backpack 1 illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2 is provided on its rear wall 3 with a stiffening element 2. The stiffening element 2 is only received with its upper end in a pocket 6 which is open at the bottom and, which cannot be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, with two lateral projections 7 provided at the lower end (cf. FIG. 3) in correspondingly assigned positions , clamped to the vertical center line open transverse pockets of the rear wall 3. The stiffening element 2 is in its non-clamped starting position, 4 and 5, slightly curved in the longitudinal direction, so that in the area of the back of the backpack carrier seen from the outside a concave curvature and in a subsequent extension 9 in the shoulder area there is a slight convex curvature. In the transverse direction, the stiffening element 2 is also slightly concave when viewed from the outside. Due to the distance of the upper pocket 6 from the lower transverse pockets for the projections 7 and the distance of the latter transverse pockets from one another, the respective curvatures can be increased while the stiffening element 2 is clamped. The lower, not visible transverse pockets have a depth which corresponds to the length of the projections 7. The upper pocket 6 is dimensioned so short that it only covers a relatively narrow edge area of the upper end of the stiffening element 2. This enables simple assembly and disassembly of the stiffening element 2.

Due to the concave curvature of the stiffening element 2 in the back area, the rear wall 3 is correspondingly concavely deformed in the longitudinal direction and / or in the transverse direction. A support net 5, for example made of textile material, is provided with a lower transverse elastic support band 4 and tensioned by means of eyelets (not shown) on the extensions 7 in front of the stiffening element 2, the eyelets being spaced apart from one another by means of vertical locking ribs 16 provided on the extensions 7 are held. At the upper end, the support net 5 has tabs or loops 12 which pass through slot-shaped openings 10 in the upper extension 9 of the stiffening element 2 and are fixed on the back of the stiffening element 2 in such a way that the support net 5 is kept under tension. The definition of the support network 5 with the help of the tabs or loops 12 can in the Way that after the insertion through the openings 10 through all the loops 12 behind the stiffening element 2, a cross bar is inserted, which holds the support network 5 under the required tension in front of the stiffening element 2. Due to the longitudinal and transverse tensioning of the support net 5, a ventilation space is kept clear between the support net 5, which lies against the back of the backpack carrier when the backpack 1 is being carried.

According to the invention, the stiffening element 2 is designed as a one-piece plate-shaped component which, in the case shown, is used to reduce the material requirement and the weight and to determine the elasticity in the longitudinal and transverse directions, e.g. circular perforations of different diameters is provided. In addition to the openings 10 for the tabs or loops 12, further slot-shaped openings 11 for the passage of shoulder straps 13 are provided in the extension 9. From the openings 11, as can be seen from FIG. 3, two pairs are arranged one above the other at a distance, so that the shoulder straps 13 can optionally be guided through the lower or the upper pair of openings 11, in adaptation to the body size of the backpack wearer.

As can be seen in particular from FIG. 3, the stiffening element 2 is tapered upwards in width in adaptation to the shape of the backpack 1 approximately trapezoidal. The clear width of the upper pocket 6 is only slightly larger than the width of the upper end of the stiffening element 2, so that this upper end is held practically immovable on the back wall 3 laterally. The larger width at the lower end of the stiffening element 2 increases the flexibility in the transverse direction so that the projections 7 can be easily inserted into the transverse pockets by bending the lower end of the stiffening element 2 together. In order to be able to absorb the forces exerted by the stiffening element 2 on the transverse pockets, the transverse pockets are at the ends of a transverse belt (not visible) attached to the rear wall 3 and running under the support band 4, for example by folding over and sewing the ends of the transverse belt, made of little stretchy, hard-wearing material. The stiffening element 2, which is made of plastic, for example, also has reinforcing ribs 14 running longitudinally and transversely in its edge regions, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 3.

To further increase the convenience of carrying the backpack 1, the support band 4 is provided with a support pad 15, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, which extends beyond the lateral projections 7 of the stiffening element 2, which is why the latter is also not shown in the drawing are visible.

In order to hold the backpack 1 when the support net 5 is securely in contact with the back of the backpack wearer, the shoulder straps 13 are to be connected to one another via a regionally elastic chest strap 17 provided with an openable closure 18. The length of the two sections of the chest strap 17 can also be adjusted, just as of course the length of the shoulder straps 13 can be adjusted. Furthermore, the transverse belt (not shown) is extended to an abdominal belt 19 which is also provided with an openable closure 20 and is also elastic in some areas, so that the backpack 1 can also be held in the area of this part of the body with the support net 5 tightly attached to the back of the backpack carrier. The tight contact is possible because between the support net 5 and the concave area of the stiffening element 2 the ventilation space is always kept clear. In this way, despite a firm fit of the backpack 1 on the back of the backpack carrier, sweating can be counteracted in this area.

In the backpack 1 according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the shoulder straps 13 are also connected to the rear wall 3 above the stiffening element 2 by means of length-adjustable additional bands 21. By adjusting the length of the additional straps 21, the shoulder area of the shoulder straps 13, that is to say their apex, can be changed to match the body size of the backpack wearer.

Die obere Verlängerung 9 fehlt hier also. The backpack 1 shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 with the dedicated stiffening element 2 shown in FIGS. 8 to 10 differs essentially by a lower height, so that the stiffening element 2 exclusively has a region concavely curved in the longitudinal direction for the corresponding deformation the rear wall 3 has. The upper extension 9 is therefore missing here. To tension the support net 5, the latter has at its upper end a mesh pocket 8 which has a similar shape and size as the upper pocket 6 on the rear wall 3. During assembly, the stiffening element 2 therefore only needs to have its upper end in the mesh pocket 8 and then both to be pushed together into the pocket 6 after the lower end of the stiffening element 2 with the lateral extensions 7 has been inserted into corresponding transverse pockets for clamping, while the support net 5 is again fastened to the extensions 7 by means of eyelets. As can be seen from FIGS. 9 and 10, the stiffening element can be slightly concaved in both the longitudinal and transverse directions before being clamped between the pockets, in order to facilitate assembly and to ensure reliable clamping of the stiffening element in the pockets.
