Abstract

An end wall 1 consists of a panel 11 which forms a smooth flat surface on the front while the back is reinforced by radial ribs 5 and annular ribs 14. The radial ribs 5 are reinforced by webs 32 which run perpendicular to the panel 11. Further webs 33 reinforce rounded webs 17 of retaining cams 4. There is a central insertion pin on the front of the panel 11. Three side walls 13 of the panel 11 are provided with stacking cams 9, 19 which bound stacking pockets 8, 18 which are constructed to be complementary to the stacking cams. The fourth side wall 30 of the end wall has a grooving 31 and rests on a pallet when a material wound on a core is packaged with the end walls. When the end walls 1 are stacked laterally together and/or vertically one above the other aligned perpendicularly, the stacking cams and stacking pockets of one side wall can be joined together without gaps with the complementary stacking pockets and stacking cams of the side wall of a further end wall 1. Corner surfaces 15 of the end wall 1 are rounded and provided with the cylindrical retaining cams 4 which have the same radius as the rounded corner surfaces.

Description

The invention relates to an end wall made of non-cutting deformable material for a winding roll, with a rectangular, in particular square, rounded corner surfaces plate, the front of the winding roll facing a smooth, flat surface with a central insertion pin and locking cam, and the outside of the winding roll pioneering back is stiffened by radial and ring ribs, with stacking cams which delimit stacking pockets, on side walls of the plate which are at right angles to the plate, the stacking pockets being complementary to the stacking cams, so that when stacked to the side the stacking cams and - pockets of one side wall can be joined together seamlessly with the stacking pockets and cams of one of the side walls of a further end wall.

Such an end wall is known from the patent DE-PS 38 08 064.

A single such one-piece end wall made of plastic or another material that can be deformed without cutting for packaging winding material wound on winding sleeves, for example plastic films, together with a second corresponding end wall forms a dimensionally stable overall packaging of a winding roll.

From the known end wall described at the outset, a number of vertically aligned end walls of fully packaged winding rolls can be stacked with their side walls side by side or one above the other and can be engaged or locked together. This means that by means of the end walls and strapping tapes, wrapped rolls can be stacked on top of one another without any problems. The finished wrapped rolls are usually stacked on wooden pallets. It is shown that the side wall of the end wall resting on the pallet has only slight frictional engagement with the pallet because of the smooth surfaces of the bearing surfaces of the stacking cams, so that the slip resistance of such a stacking is not guaranteed. If, in particular, heavy winding rolls are packed with such end walls, there is also an increased risk of breakage and inadequate stability of the overlying side wall because of the small contact surfaces of the stacking cams on the pallet and the associated high specific surface pressure or the large surface loading of the stacking cams.

From the German utility model 19 91 976 a one-piece front wall made of plastic is known, which consists of a square, preferably square, stiffened with radial webs flat plate. In the middle there is an insertion pin for the winding material roll, which is equipped with holding prisms, for example. The plate is wrapped in a belt, on the outside of which small prismatic strips are arranged. The belt closes at the corners of the plate four in the free space between Cup-shaped indentations protruding into the winding material and packaging jacket, which are open near the outer end face, and has a circumferential stop bar which is provided with teeth.

From DE-OS 14 86 562 a protective packaging for film and metal rolls is known, which consists of two identical flanges equipped with a hollow hub that can be inserted into the winding core of the roll. Each of these flanges has at least two flanged outer edges or edge parts parallel to one another, which are provided with incisions and tongues, by means of which, when stacking several rollers, an interlocking of the superimposed flange edges is achieved and a mutual displacement of the stacked rollers is prevented. With their side walls, these flanges cannot be stacked arbitrarily, but can only be stacked next to one another or one above the other and brought into engagement with one another in a specific assignment.

One of the four circumferential flanges has two projecting pins, while the opposite flange has two holes at the locations that correspond to the locations of the pins. The winding rolls are stacked in rows, the upper row of the winding rolls with their end walls being offset from the lower row in such a way that the pins of one end wall with the Holes of two underlying end walls are engaged, thereby preventing a lateral displacement of the two rows of winding rollers against each other.

In the known end walls it can be regarded as disadvantageous that the end walls can be stacked without further winding rolls with further, horizontally oriented end walls, but the vertically oriented end walls, in particular with the winding rolls, with their side walls not arbitrarily, but only in a specific assignment next to one another. or stacked on top of one another and brought into engagement with one another. This means that packaged winding rolls can not be easily and safely stacked tightly on top of each other.

The object of the present invention is to develop the known end walls of the type described in the introduction in such a way that simple, safe and non-slip stacking of the winding rolls packed with such end walls on pallets can be achieved and the strength of the end walls is increased.

The solution to this problem is achieved in that at least one side wall of each end wall instead of stacking cams and pockets has a corrugation which extends over the length of the side wall, interrupted by guide grooves in the side wall, and in that the end wall extends from the rear to the front extending webs is reinforced.

In an embodiment of the invention, two opposite side walls of the end wall have a corrugation. This applies in particular to large-format end walls of packaged winding rolls which are only stacked next to one another, but not one above the other, so that each of the corrugated side walls rests on a pallet or is in contact with an overlying pallet.

In a further development of the invention, the cylindrical locking cams located on the rounded corner surfaces of the end wall have the same radius as the rounded corner surfaces; if each locking cam is equipped with a cylindrical cam shoulder offset by a shoulder, the cam approaches of the locking cams on one end wall engage when stacking horizontally aligned end walls in recesses on the back of the overlying end wall and connect the cutouts to the hollow cylindrical locking cams and are enclosed by the rounded corner surfaces and rounded webs.

In an embodiment of the invention, the end wall is reinforced and stiffened by webs arranged in the surface of the radial ribs on the back, which run perpendicular to the plate.

Die weitere Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ergibt sich aus den Patentansprüchen 5 bis 14.The further embodiment of the invention results from the patent claims 5 to 14.

With the invention, the advantage is achieved that the corrugation ensures a secure hold of the packaged winding roll on the pallet and moreover, the load on the side wall of the end wall resting on the pallet is distributed uniformly over the entire length of the side wall, so that the risk of breakage of the side wall is largely eliminated together with the reinforcement of the rear side of the end wall by additional webs. The bevelled side surfaces of the stacking cams and stacking pockets allow the rolls packed with these end walls to be stacked and destacked without any problems.

In Figure 1, winding rollers 27 are shown in perspective, which are wound on a winding sleeve, not shown. The end faces of the winding rollers 27 are delimited by end walls 1, each of which has a central insertion pin which is pushed into the winding tube. That side wall 30 of each end wall 1 which is in contact with a pallet 28 on which the Winding rolls 27 are stacked, has a corrugation 31, which is interrupted by guide grooves 7, but otherwise extends over the length of the side wall 30. The corrugation 31 covers approximately half the width of the side wall 30 (see FIGS. 2 and 3), but can also extend over the full width. The individual corrugation has the shape of a prism cut through in the diagonal plane, the cross section of the corrugations being triangular in the longitudinal direction and the diagonal plane also being the base area of the half prism. The corrugation increases the frictional engagement with the pallet and is intended to prevent the packaged winding roll from slipping in any direction parallel and transversely to the longitudinal direction. For this purpose, the end face of each individual corrugation opposite the edge of the side wall 30 runs at right angles and is not beveled to the longitudinal direction of the corrugation. When the corrugations are pressed into a wooden plate, small triangular surfaces are created perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the corrugations, which prevent them from slipping in the longitudinal direction away from the edge of the side wall. The end faces of the corrugations on the edge of the side wall 30 lying opposite these triangular surfaces form a continuous, sharp-edged transverse web 34 which is only interrupted by the guide grooves 7 and which prevents slipping in the direction of the edge of the side wall. Due to the corrugation 31, which can be 1 to 6 mm high, the individual winding roller 27 is secured against slipping on the pallet 28 and, moreover, the load on the side wall resting on it is distributed evenly over the length of the side wall by the weight of the winding roller. This reduces the risk of breakage overlying side wall, since, based on the effective contact area between the end wall and the pallet, there is no longer as much stress as in the case that the overlying side wall is equipped with stacking cams and stacking pockets and only with the pallet in via the small contact surfaces of the stacking cams Is touch.

When stacking pallet units of packaged winding rolls one above the other, the pallet created above has so far created a high specific surface pressure due to the small contact surfaces of the stacking cams. The corrugated side wall 30 of the end wall, which is reinforced by webs on the back and serves as a support for the upper pallet instead of the side wall provided with stacking pockets and stacking cams, prevents slipping and the risk of breakage.

As shown in FIG. 2, the end wall 1 consists of a rectangular, in particular square plate 11, at the four corners of which locking cams 4 are arranged, which have cam lugs 16. On three side walls 13 of the plate 11 of an end wall 1 there are stacking cams 9, 19 which have different lengths and different cross sections, while the fourth side wall 30 is equipped with the corrugation 31 mentioned.

As can be seen from the perspective view of the front of the end wall 1 in FIG. 2, corner surfaces 15 of the end wall 1 are rounded, and the cylindrical locking cams 4 are integrated with these corner surfaces and have the same radius like the rounded corner surfaces 16. The cylindrical cam lugs 16 are offset from the locking cams 4 by a shoulder and have a smaller diameter than the locking cams. The smooth or flat front facing the winding roller protects the front side of the winding roller from damage, particularly during transport.

On the outer surface of the insertion pin 2, V-shaped webs 3 run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the insertion pin and have a cross section that becomes smaller towards the front of the plate 11. The insertion pin 2 is pressed into the bore of the winding tube. The V-shaped webs 3 on the insertion pin 2 ensure a better hold of the insertion pin in the winding sleeve and the same dimensional tolerances of the winding sleeve on the one hand and the insertion pin on the other. The diameter of the hollow cylindrical insertion pin 2 is adapted to the diameter of the respective bore of the winding tube.

The perspective view in FIG. 3 of the rear of the end wall 1, which faces away from the winding roll and points outwards, shows radial ribs 5 and ring ribs 14 which stiffen the rear side and thereby avoid excessive wall thicknesses, so that the unit weight of the end wall 1 is kept low can be. The radial and ring ribs result in a high load capacity of the end wall 1 with a low weight. The radial ribs 5 are additionally reinforced and stiffened by webs 32, which are perpendicular to the plate 11 in the surface of the radial ribs 5 run. As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, the stacking cams 9 and 19 limit stacking pockets 8, 18, which are complementary to the stacking cams. The stacking cams 9 are shorter than the stacking cams 19. The base body of the two groups of stacking cams 9, 19 is in each case cuboid, one side surface 20 or 21 of the stacking cam 9 or 19 being chamfered and inclined towards the side wall 13. Each stacking cam 9 is arranged near one of the two corner surfaces 15 of a side wall 13, one stacking cam 9 being formed rotated by 180 ° with respect to the other stacking cam 9. The two other stacking cams 19 of a side wall 13 are also rotated through 180 ° to one another and diagonally offset from one another. One stack cam 9 and 19 is aligned, for example, with the lower edge of the side wall 13, while the stack cams 19 and 9 rotated by 180 ° are aligned with the upper edge of the side wall 13.

Fig. 1) der Wickelrolle 27 aufnimmt. In addition to the beveled side surface 21, the longer stacking cam 19 also has inclined surfaces 22, 23. The stacking cams 19, 19, which are rotated by 180 ° to one another and diagonally opposite one another, are arranged such that the diagonally opposite inclined surfaces 22, 23 overlap. Due to the inclined surfaces 21, 22, 23, the stacking cam 19 is tapered in the shape of a truncated pyramid. The group of shorter stacking cams 9 also has inclined surfaces 24, 25 per stacked cam. The inclined surfaces 22, 24; 23, 23 of the stacking cams 9 and 19 each form the boundary walls for a guide groove 7, which receives a strapping 26 (see FIG. 1) of the winding roll 27.

There are at least two guide grooves 7 in each of the side walls 13 and 30, for example, which are 20 mm wide and about 10 mm deep. In Figures 2 and 3, three guide grooves 7 are shown.

The two end walls of a winding roll are firmly connected to the winding roll by strapping with two or three strapping bands 26 made of plastic or metal. The exact distance between the guide grooves 7 is chosen so that the strapping can be attached by a tandem strapping system. If necessary, the end wall edges can be reinforced at the strapping points and the guide grooves can be given the appropriate strength by an opposite end wall rib.

The radial ribs 5 and the annular ribs 14 on the back of the plate 11 are at the same height as the outer edge or the edge of the side walls 13 and 30 of the plate 11. In the exemplary embodiment described, there are two stacking cams 9 and two stacking cams 19 per side wall 13 intended. This number of stacking cams is sufficient, for example, with dimensions of 485 x 505 mm of the end wall 1, but it is obvious that with larger dimensions of the end wall, such as 585 x 605 mm or 680 x 700 mm, correspondingly more stacking cams 9 and 19 per Side wall must be present. The number of guide grooves 7 will then also be greater than three.

As can be seen from FIG. 3, the plate 11 has a central cylindrical through opening 12. The hollow cylindrical insertion pin 2 is connected to this central through opening 12 via a shoulder 29. The diameter of the through opening 12 is larger than the outer diameter of the insertion pin 2. On the back of the plate 11 there are cutouts 6 which are surrounded by the rounded corner surfaces 15 and rounded webs 17. The cutouts 6 connect to the rear of the hollow cylindrical locking cams 4. The rounded webs 17 are reinforced by further webs 33 which run perpendicular to the plate 11. These cylindrical webs 33 have a diameter that is greater than the wall thickness of the rounded webs 17.

If two horizontally oriented end walls 1 are stacked one on top of the other, the cam lugs 16 of the locking cams 4 of one end wall engage in the recess 6 on the rear side of the plate 11 of the end wall above. Likewise, the insertion pin 2 engages in the through opening 12, which results in the possibility of stacking and palletizing the end walls in a space-saving manner.

The stacking cams and stacking pockets engage in one another in such a way that a displacement along or across the side wall 13 is not possible. The bevelled side surfaces 20, 21 of the stacking cams and the stacking pockets allow problem-free stacking and unstacking of the winding rolls packed with these end walls. It will be mutual Locking of the complete winding rolls stacked on one another or next to one another and packed by the end walls 1 is achieved.

The end walls 1 are made, for example, from thermoplastic materials by injection molding. Regenerates and recycling materials can be used. The stacking cams as well as the webs and ribs are molded in the same injection molding process.

Since three side walls 13 of the end wall are of identical design with respect to the stacking cams or stacking pockets, it is possible at any time to stack and / or stack the winding rolls closed off with the end walls, since the side wall of one end wall can be brought into engagement with the side wall of a further end wall. without a preferred alignment of the end walls to each other is necessary. In other words, this means that the stacking cams and stacking pockets engage or lock into one another in any position of the end walls, whether aligned vertically or horizontally. It is only necessary to ensure that the side wall 30 rests on the pallet 28 with the corrugation 31 of the end wall or comes into contact with the underside of a pallet which is placed on a finished stack of, for example, four packaged winding rolls.

It is also advantageous that the individual, vertically aligned end wall can be easily transported on roller conveyors with a roller spacing of 60 to 80 mm, since the stacking cams 9 or 19 of the individual side wall 13 lie with their cover surfaces in the same plane and are also spaced apart by a maximum of 20 mm.
