  1. Method of exchanging impression cylinder receiving carriages (A1, B1, A2, B2) in printing elements (1, 2, 3) of a rotary printing machine, in which the receiving carriages are each equipped with an impression cylinder and can be moved from a waiting position ahead of a printing element into a working position in the printing element or from the working position into a further waiting position after the printing element, the method comprising the following steps:
    a) for the purpose of exchanging the impression cylinders, the receiving carriages (B1) situated in the waiting position are moved together with the receiving carriages (A1) situated in the working position along a plane in a direction (f) of advance,
    b) following the exchange of the impression cylinders or during the printing operation, the receiving carriages (A1) which have been driven out from the printing elements and are now situated in the further waiting position are conveyed away and in their place further receiving carriages (A2), provided with new impression cylinders, are arranged in the further waiting position, and
