Definitions
- the present invention relates to a safety device for an automatic floating-fire weapon.
- Document FR-A-2 372 409 on which the preamble of independent claim 1 is based discloses an automatic weapon comprising a rotary drum driven by an external motor to drive the breech in an alternating movement.
- An automatic weapon is thus called in which each blow of a burst except the first is fired before the receding part of the weapon has returned to its original position, which has the effect of reducing the efforts on the supporting structure.
- the present invention aims to provide a safety device applicable to an automatic floating fire weapon.
- the intermediate member comprises a rod guided in a longitudinal movement relative to the weapon and the drum, the weapon comprising a tubular guide receiving a first part of the rod and comprising the means for connecting the member to the weapon , the drum being connected to another tubular guide receiving another portion of the rod and to the means for connecting the member to the drum.
- the means for connecting the intermediate member to the weapon consist of two stops limiting the movement of the member relative to the weapon.
- the means for connecting the intermediate member to the drum include friction means interposed between the member and the drum.
- the rod has a groove cam and the control means comprise a roller sliding in said cam, the roller being movable under the action of the weapon to move the locking means in its neutral position during the first predetermined part of step back.
- the locking means comprise a stop, a trigger, capable of stopping the rotation of the rotary drum, and a first lever acting on said trigger to move it into the locking position of the drum at each firing cycle, the lever being driven by the weapon's external motor.
- the first lever has an axis of rotation rotatably mounted at one end of a second lever carrying the roller at the other end, the second lever being articulated around a fixed axis relative to the receding structure of the weapon.
- the first lever carries at its other end a roller cooperating with a cam performing a cycle turn, the axis of rotation of said lever being movable under the action of the control means.
- the locking means are arranged to lock the locking means of the cylinder head in the locked position.
- the locking means further comprise a lever arranged to disappear in a notch of the member when the latter is in the position it occupies just before the start of the recoil.
- FIG. 1 we see at 2 the rotary drum of the weapon inside which is arranged a damper comprising a push rod 2 '.
- a stop 3 is mounted integral with the push rod 2 'of the shock absorber and can move in a helical groove formed in the drum 2.
- the rotational movement of the drum 2 is gradually transformed in a translational movement of the push rod 2 'so as to progressively block the rotation of the drum 2.
- a cam plate of which only the groove 4 forming a cam is shown is driven in synchronism with the drum 2, in rotation about an axis 5.
- the cam 4 has an oval or eccentric shape relative to the axis 5.
- the cam 4 is arranged to make a revolution each time the weapon is fired. In the case where the drum 2 makes four turns with each shot, the cam 4 therefore rotates four times slower than the drum 2.
- a roller 6 mounted at one end of one of the arms 7 of a bent lever 8 is arranged to be guided in the cam 4.
- This first lever 8 is articulated, at the junction between its two arms 7 and 9, at one end of a second lever 11.
- the end of the arm 9 of the bent lever 8 forms an elongated slot 12 in which is engaged a stud 13 fixed to one end of a trigger 14 mounted at its other end in rotation about an axis 15 fixed relative to the structure of the receding part of the weapon.
- the lever 11 is articulated in its middle around an axis 16 fixed relative to the structure of the receding part of the weapon, and its end opposite to the articulation of the lever 8 carries a roller 17 engaged in an S-cam 18 ( Figure 2a) formed in a member 20.
- the central part of the cam 18 forms a ramp inclined relative to the axis 19 of the member 20 which is slidably mounted in the direction of the axis 19 relative to the recoil structure 21 of the weapon.
- the member 20 is secured at its end to the above-mentioned rod 1, which slides in a tubular part 22.
- the end of the member 20 closest to the rod 1 forms a shoulder 23 capable of moving between a first stop 24 formed at the end of the part of the structure 21 guiding the sliding member 20 and a second stop 25 formed by the end cap 26 closing this tubular part.
- tubular part 22 as well as its end cap 27 and its adjusting nut 28 are integral with the frame of the weapon, that is to say with its non-receding part.
- the rod 1 is enclosed in a tubular metal sheath 29 tensioned by a spring 30 disposed between its two ends wedged in cone devices 31 'and 31' ', one of which 31' ' is fixed inside the tubular part 22.
- This tension causes a tendency to shrink of the tubular metallic braid 29, thus causing friction and therefore braking of the rod 1.
- the trigger 14 is brought into a position where it is in the path of the stop 3 and where, consequently, it blocks the rotary drum 2.
- This position is that corresponding to the firing of the munition, position in which the roller 6 is in its position furthest from the axis 5 due to the cam 4.
- the roller 17 will therefore move in the ramp of the cam 18 from its position shown in solid lines to its position shown in broken lines, causing the lever 11 to tilt around the axis 16 in the direction of arrow F3. This tilting will have the effect of displacing the axis 33 in 33 ′, the levers 11 and 8 then taking their position shown in phantom in FIG. 1.
- a rod 1 shows' mounted on the side of the arrow F3 in the same manner that the rod 1 so as to allow its braking during a stroke based on the start of the recoil tear.
- This rod 1 has a first notch 40 disposed before the start of the recoil vis-à-vis a lever 41 mounted pivoting about an axis (not shown) to block or unblock by any suitable means the unlocking means of the breech of the weapon.
- a lever 41 mounted pivoting about an axis (not shown) to block or unblock by any suitable means the unlocking means of the breech of the weapon.
- it allows the unlocking of the cylinder head while in its low position where it is engaged in the notch 40, it blocks this unlocking.
- the rod 1 ′ has a second notch 42 whose ends form two stops 43 and 43 ′ for a rod 44.
- lever 41 and the rod 44 belong to the receding part of the weapon. Their position in solid lines corresponds to the instant preceding the start of the recoil and their position in phantom corresponds to a race after the start of the recoil.
- the stops 43 and 43 ′ operate in the same way as the stops 24 and 25 in FIG. 3.
- the two embodiments of the invention can be used simultaneously on the same weapon.
