Description
- L'invention concerne un club de golf présentant un dispositif amortisseur de vibrations.
- Comme on le sait, un club de golf comprend essentiellement un manche comportant à une extrémité une poignée et à l'autre une tête de frappe.
- Comme on le sait, lors de la frappe de la balle, ces clubs et plus précisément leur manche vibrent et les vibrations produites sont nuisibles à la fois pour le joueur et pour la précision de la balle.
- On connaît depuis longtemps des dispositifs amortisseurs de vibrations constitués d'une plaque de contrainte à haut module d'élasticité assemblée par collage à la pièce à amortir au moyen d'un matériau visco-élastique.
- Ces dispositifs amortisseurs sont bien connus et largement utilisés dans les domaines aussi variés que la suspension de machine-outil, de moteurs en tout genre. Dans le document FR-A-2 575 393 du Demandeur, on a proposé une application de ce dispositif à l'industrie du ski.
- Dans le document US-A-4 660 832, on a décrit un outil de frappe tel qu'une raquette de ternis ou un club de golf dans lequel on dispose entre le manche et la poignée une couche d'un matériau absorbant les vibrations, tel qu'en polyuréthane cellulaire.
- L'invention concerne un club de golf comprenant un manche et une tête de frappe et un ensemble amortisseur de vibrations, tel que défini dans la revendication 1.
- En d'autres termes, l'invention consiste sur le manche du club à ne pas appliquer une plaque de contrainte mais un manchon tubulaire, rigide, de contrainte, relié au manche par un matériau visco-élastique d'épaisseur déterminée. La contrainte du manchon sur le manche, sert alors de dispositif amortisseur de vibrations par absorption de l'énergie dégagée lors de la frappe en la transformant en chaleur.
- De la sorte, l'élément intercalaire visco-élastique caractéristique, est bloqué entre deux éléments, respectivement l'un déformable : le manche et l'autre rigide non déformable : le manchon. De la sorte, l'élément visco-élastique caractéristique, sollicité aux cisaillements, agit comme un ammortisseur en suivant les déformations du manche.
- Comme on le sait, des "matériaux visco-élastiques" sont des matériaux qui conduisent à la réduction de l'amplitude des vibrations par dégradation d'une partie de l'énergie de déformation sous forme de chaleur. Ces matériaux ont généralement des modules d'élasticité notamment des modules d'YOUNG faibles, mais des coefficients d'amortissement intrinsèques élevés.
- Il va de soi que l'ensemble amortisseur caractéristique de l'invention doit être positionné le long du manche à un endroit approprié correspondant à un ventre de vibrations, ou plus exactement au niveau de déformée maximum de ce ventre de vibrations, que l'homme de métier détermine de manière connue
Avantageusement en pratique : - le manchon rigide présente un module d'élasticité E supérieur à 10000 MPa, et une épaisseur comprise entre 0,1 et 3 mm, de préférence au voisinage de 1 mm ; en effet, on a observé que si le module d'élasticité est inférieur à 10000 MPa, le manchon rigide n'agit pas comme une plaque de contrainte et l'amortissement est moins efficace ; de même, si l'épaisseur est inférieure à 0,1 mm, on n'obtient plus aucun effet d'amortissement, alors que si elle excède 3 mm, on augmente inutilement le coût et le poids sans amélioration correspondante ;
- le manchon rigide à haut module d'élasticité est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les alliages d'aluminium, les alliages d'aluminium-chrome-zinc, les matériaux thermodurcissables stratifiés armés de fibres de verre ou de carbone, les matériaux thermoplastiques armés de fibres de verre ou de carbone ;
- le matériau visco-élastique se présente sous la forme d'un manchon coaxial au manche et au manchon rigide, d'épaisseur comprise entre 0,2 et 3 mm, de préférence au voisinage de 0,8 mm ; en effet, on a observé que si la couche de matériau visco-élastique est inférieure à 0,2 mm, on n'obtient plus aucun effet d'amortissement, et que si cette couche excéde 3 mm, on n'obtient aucune amélioration proportionnelle ;
- dans une forme de réalisation avantageuse, le matériau visco-élastique intermédiaire se présente sous forme d'un empilement de couches élémentaires ou d'une juxtaposition de couches dont l'ensemble est revêtu sur ses deux faces, respectivement interne et externe, d'une couche adhésive destinée à reliée ce manchon respectivement à la face externe du manche et à la face interne du manchon rigide ;
- le matériau visco-élastique est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les caoutchoucs butyles, les élastomères de synthèse, seuls, en mélange ou chargés.
- Dans une variante d'exécution, l'ensemble amortisseur caractéristique est coulissable le long du manche, puis est fixable par tous moyens appropriés, tels que vissage, bridage, le long de celui-ci, de préférence au niveau d'un ventre de vibrations ou plus exactement au niveau de la déformée maximum d'un ventre de vibrations, déterminée par tatonnements de manière connue.
- Dans une autre variante d'exécution, l'ensemble amortisseur caractéristique est positionné dans un restreint ménagé à cet effet sur le manche.
- Il va de soi que la section du manche peut être variée : polygonale, ovoïde, circulaire ou autre.
- La manière dont l'invention peut être réalisée et les avantages qui en découlent ressortiront mieux des exemples de réalisation qui suivent à l'appui des figures annexées.
- La figure 1 montre un club de golf (fer) en perspective sommaire conforme à l'invention.
- Les figures 2 et 3 montrent un détail de ce club représenté respectivement en vue perspective sommaire (figure 2) et en coupe (figure 3) selon le plan III-III'.
- La figure 4 est une autre forme d'éxécution de l'invention montrée en coupe longitudinale.
- Un fer de golf conforme à l'invention comprend un manche (1) par exemple en métal, terminé à son extrémité par une poignée, et relié à son autre extrémité à une tête désignée par la référence générale (3), présentant une face de frappe (4). Un emmanchement (5) relie la tête (3) au manche (1).
- L'ensemble amortisseur caractéristique de l'invention, désigné par la référence générale (10), comprend un manchon tubulaire rigide (11) en un alliage d'aluminium-chrome-zinc connu sous la dénomination ZICRAL (marque déposée de CEGEDUR), présentant un module d'élasticité de 12000 MPa, une épaisseur de 0,8 mm, une hauteur de 40 mm et un diamètre intérieur de 12 mm.
- Cet ensemble amortisseur (10) est positionné sur le manche (15) en un endroit correspondant à un ventre de vibrations déterminé préalablement par tous moyens connus. Sur un manche de golf, ce ventre est situé au voisinage du premier tiers du manche (1) en partant de la tête (3).
- Le manchon tubulaire rigide circulaire (11) est relié en (15) au manche (1) également circulaire au moyen d'un second manchon (12) coaxial à la fois au manche (1) et au manchon rigide (11) à haut module d'élasticité et dont les deux faces respectivement interne et externe ont été préalablement revêtues d'une couche adhésive non représentée de manière à favoriser la solidarisation entre le manchon rigide de contrainte (11) et le manche (1). La couche intermédiaire visco-élastique (12) de liaison présente un coefficient d'amortissement à 25 °C tangente δ compris entre 0,4 et 1,2, de préférence compris entre 0,6 et 0,8.
- En positionnant l'ensemble amortisseur (10) le long du manche (1) au point de déformée maximale du ventre de vibrations (15), on constate une nette amélioration de l'amortissement des vibrations.
- Dans une variante non représentée, l'élément amortisseur caractéristique (10) peut coulisser provisoirement le long du manche (1). Pour ce faire, la couche visco-élastique intermédiaire (12) adhère seulement au manchon rigide externe (11) mais n'adhère pas au manche (1) pour permettre ce coulissement. L'opérateur détermine par tâtonnements la localisation du ventre de vibrations (15) et positionne alors cet élément amortisseur par tous moyens connus, tels que vissage, collage ou bridage.
- La figure 4 est une autre forme d'exécution de l'invention dans laquelle le manche (1) présente un restreint (20) dans lequel viendra s'insérer l'élément amortisseur (10) dont le diamètre interne correspondant sensiblement au diamètre externe du tube. Cette forme d'éxécution présente l'avantage de conserver une section régulière au manche.
Claims (7)
- Club de golf comprenant un manche (1) terminé à une extrémité par une poignée (2) et de l'autre par une tête de frappe (3,4), comportant un ensemble amortisseur de vibrations caractérisé :- en ce que l'ensemble amortisseur de vibrations est constitué d'un manchon tubulaire (11) rigide co-axial au manche (1) disposé sur le manche (1) entre la tête de frappe (3,4) et la poignée (2);- et en ce que le manchon (11) est relié au manche (1) par un matériau visco-élastique (12) de deux dizièmes de millimètre à trois millimètres (0,2 à 3,0 mm) d'épaisseur, qui est contraint par le manchon (11) sur le manche (1).
- Club de golf selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la manchon rigide (11) présente un module d'élasticité E supérieur à 10 000 MPa, une épaisseur comprise entre un dizième de millimètre et trois millimètres (0,1 et 3 mm), et est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les alliages d'aluminium, les alliages d'aluminium-chrome-zinc, les matériaux thermodurcissables stratifiés armés de fibres de verre ou de carbone, les matériaux thermoplastiques armés de fibres de verre ou de carbone.
- Club de golf selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le matériau visco-élastique (12) intermédiaire est formé d'une superposition de couches élémentaires revêtues sur ses deux faces respectivement interne et externe d'une couche adhésive destinée à le relier au manche (1) et au manchon rigide (11).
- Club de golf selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé enc e que le matériau visco-élastique est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les caoutchoucs butyles, les élastomères de synthèse, seuls, en mélange ou chargés.
- Club de golf selon l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce que l'ensemble amortisseur (10) est coulissable provisoirement le long du manche (1), puis est fixable le long de celui-ci au niveau de la déformée maximum d'un ventre de vibrations.
- Club de golf selon l'une des revendications 1 à 5, caractérisé en ce que l'élément amortisseur (5) est positionné dans un restreint (20) ménagé à cet effet sur le manche (1).
- Club de golf selon la revendication 1, comprenant une tête et un manche, caractérisé en ce que l'élément amortisseur de vibrations est disposé au voisinage du premier tiers du manche (1) en partant de la tête (3,4).
