Abstract

Described is an electric hair-cutter with a spacer comb (3) fitted on the cutter head and a sliding switch (11) for switching the hair-cutter on and off. The invention calls for the hair-cutter to have a pre-selector (60) switch which can be set so that the motor is not switched on until the slider switch locks into a predetermined position.

Description

The invention relates to an electric hair clipper with a shaving head and with a spacer comb that can be placed on the shaving head for sliding contact on the skin surface to be treated, which can be adjusted in different latching positions with respect to the front edge of the shaving head, and with a slide switch for switching the drive on and off Hair clipper and for moving the spacing comb, the spacing comb and the slide switch being provided with coupling means which can be brought into engagement, and further latching positions are provided for the "on" and "off" position of the slide switch.

Such a hair clipper is known from EP-A-212 215. To switch off the drive, the user - regardless of the cutting length with which he cut his hair - must reset the slide switch to the "Off" position "0". As a result, the spacing comb is automatically returned to the position with the smallest cutting length, so that the next time the user can use it, it is no longer possible to determine the cutting length with which the hair was cut the last time.

The object of the invention is therefore to design a hair clipper of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that the user can recognize a cut length which has been selected as favorable when it is used again.

This object is achieved in that an adjustable selector slide is provided in a hair clipper of the type mentioned, which is coupled via further means to the slide switch in such a way that the drive of the hair clipper only switches on at a locking position of the distance comb determined by the selector slide.

Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind den Unteransprüchen entnehmbar.Advantageous refinements can be found in the subclaims.

The invention is described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

The mode of operation of the hair clipper will now be explained without the provided slide switch.

As can be seen in FIGS. 1 to 4, the hair clipper 1 consists essentially of a narrow, haptically designed body to which a shaving head 2 belongs, which is covered in FIGS. 1 and 2 by a spacing comb 3 placed on the shaving head 2. The spacing comb 3 has the task of keeping the front edge 4 of the shaving head 2 formed from a fixed shaving comb plate 5 and a shaving blade 6 which reciprocates thereon at a predetermined distance from the skin surface to be treated in each case, for example the scalp of a person to be styled, whereby the distance comb 3 - as explained later - can be positioned in different stroke positions relative to the body 7 of the hair clipper 1 on the shaving head 2 thereof.

The spacer comb 3 comprises, as a hollow body, the body 7 of the hair clipper 1 in the area of its shaving head 1 on all four sides, its tooth-shaped supports 8 which have been molded onto it allowing the hair of the person to be treated to pass through to the shaving head 2, from whose shaving knife 6 they are then cut be cut off. The remaining length of the cut hair corresponds to the distance between the front edge of the tooth-shaped supports when supports 8 are placed on the skin surface 8 from the front or cutting edge of the shaving head 2 or the shaving knife 6 associated with it, this distance - as already mentioned - can be changed in the hair clipper 1.

For functional use of the hair clipper 1 using the distance comb 3 which determines the hair length to be cut, the latter are assigned coupling means which interact with suitable coupling members of the body 7 of the hair clipper 1.

Der Schiebeschalter 11 erfüllt mehrere Funktionen, nämlich zunächst diejenige, den elektrischen oder mechanischen Antrieb der Haarschneidemaschine 1 ein- oder auszuschalten, sodann die weitere Funktion, den Distanzkamm 3 mit der Haarschneidemaschine 1 funktionsgerecht zu kuppeln bzw. zu entkuppeln, und schließlich die Funktion, den angekuppelten Distanzkamm 3 in jeweils andere Distanzen bewirkende Gebrauchsstellungen zu überführen.4 and 5 show in particular that the hair clipper 1 is assigned a coupling plunger 10 which can be slid in a housing-side guide 9 with a T-shaped cross section in the direction of the longitudinal axis x of the hair clipper 1. This coupling plunger 10 is assigned a slide switch 11 which extends over the entire width of the hair clipper 1 and thus permits safe operation with both the left and right hand of the device user, that is to say one-hand operation. The slide switch 11 fulfills several functions, namely firstly that of switching the electrical or mechanical drive of the hair clipper 1 on or off, then the further function of coupling or uncoupling the distance comb 3 with the hair clipper 1 in a functional manner, and finally the function that to couple coupled distance comb 3 into different positions causing different distances.

The function of the lengthwise by means of the slide switch 11 inside and below the front wall 12 of the hair clipper 1 sliding clutch plunger 10 in cooperation with the coupling means of the spacer comb 3 show - in several coupling phases - FIGS. 5 and 6.

Die Fig. 5 zeigt hierbei die grundsätzliche Wirkungsweise der Kupplung 13 zwischen dem hier dem Kupplungsstößel 10 zugeordneten Schiebeschalter 11 der Haarschneidemaschine 1 und dem auf den Scherkopf 2 des Körpers 7 der Haarschneidemaschine 1 aufsetzbaren Distanzkamm 3.5 shows the basic mode of operation of the coupling 13 between the slide switch 11 of the hair clipper 1 assigned here to the clutch plunger 10 and the spacer comb 3 which can be placed on the shaving head 2 of the body 7 of the hair clipper 1.

As can be seen, the coupling plunger 10 connected to the slide switch 11 is formed with a coupling lug 14 which can be pivoted about the axis of a film hinge 15 formed on the coupling plunger 10, in such a way that the coupling lug 14 automatically returns to its starting position after each pivoting in accordance with FIG. 5 returns.

The attached spacer comb 3 surrounding the shaving head 2 of the hair clipper 1 is assigned in the region of its wall 16 serving as coupling means a coupling groove 17 receiving the coupling tappet 10 including its coupling nose 14. This coupling groove 17 comprises a locking shoulder 18 formed on the coupling wall 16 of the spacer comb 3, which is overcome by the coupling lug 14 of the coupling plunger 10 by deflecting into the depression 20 formed by a housing wall 19 of the hair clipper 1 in the region of the coupling groove 17 during the mounting of the spacing comb 3 .

The attached spacing comb 3 is thus held by the coupling lug 14 of the coupling plunger 10 engaging behind its locking shoulder 18 and thus secured against unintentional loosening from the hair clipper 1. In this mounting position of the coupling members 10, 14 of the hair clipper 1 and the coupling members 17, 18 of the distance comb 3, which are thus connected to one another, the slide switch 11 also acting on the electrical switch 21 for the drive is still in the “off” position, in which the feed circuit of the hair clipper 1 is open. By subsequently moving the slide switch 11 and thus also the clutch plunger 10 in the direction of the axis x of the hair clipper 1 - the same stroke direction x of the spacer comb 3 - from the position "Off" shown in FIG. 5 to the position "On" shown in dashed lines actuates the Slide switch 11, the switch, whereby the feed circuit of the hair clipper 1 is closed and thus the drive, not shown, is switched on.

In this "on" position, the front wall 23 of the coupling plunger 10 arrives at a locking shoulder 24 formed on the coupling wall 16 of the spacer comb 3, while the side wall 25 facing away from the coupling lug 14 (according to FIG. 5) on the outer wall 26 one through the housing wall 19 of the The hair clipper 1 and the positive guide 27 formed by the coupling wall 16 of the distance comb 3 slidably comes to rest. Thus, in the "on" position of the slide switch 11, the clutch plunger 10 is prevented from elastically deflecting from the locking shoulder 24 by the positive guide 27. The sloping edge 28 of the coupling tappet 10, which facilitates the evasion, which when the Distance comb 3 cooperates with the inclined edge 29 of the locking shoulder 18 of the comb-side coupling wall 16, does not come into effect here.

The handle 30 is formed here around a molded-in film hinge 31 pivoting locking lever 32, the council nose 33 engages under self-resilience in locking notches in a device-fixed locking bar 34 of the hair clipper 1 and each forms a locking mechanism. The engagement of the detent 33 in the lowest notch 34.1 (according to FIG. 6) determines the “off” position of the slide switch 11. If the slide switch 11 is pushed up by one detent, the detent 33 arrives in the notch 34.2, which “ A "position of the slide switch 11 determines. The clutch plunger 10 arrives from its "off" position taken after overcoming the locking shoulder 18 into the "on" position in which its coupling lug 14 comes to rest on the locking shoulder 24 and the inner wall 26 of the positive guide 27 and thus the coupling of the Hair clipper 1 with the spacer comb 3 for the purpose of positioning the spacer comb is completed.

Eine der Frontseite des Distanzkammes 3 zugeordnete Marke 37 zeigt dabei die jeweilige Raststellung - hier die geringstmögliche Raststellung "1" - des Distanzkammes 3 an.By further sliding the slide switch 11 in the direction x (FIG. 5) by a further latching position, the latching nose 33 arrives in the latching notch 34.3. Here, by means of the coupling tappet 10, which is moved in the direction x, the spacing comb 3 as a result of the abutment of the tappet-side front wall 23 on the locking shoulder 24 Clutch wall 16 raised to a first latching position. This first detent position causes the hair captured by the spacer comb 3 to be cut with a relatively short cutting length. The latching position is indicated here by a marking scale 35 associated with the shaving head 2 of the hair clipper 1, the numbers "1" to "4" being visible in a cutout 36 between and below two adjacent tooth-shaped supports 8 of the spacer comb 3. A mark 37 assigned to the front of the spacer comb 3 indicates the respective detent position - here the lowest possible detent position "1" - of the spacer comb 3.

In the same way, by pushing the coupling plunger 10 further upwards by means of the slide switch 11 assigned to it, the spacing comb 3 reaches further detent positions that increase the distance between the shaving head 2 and the spacing comb 3, which by engaging the detent 33 into the notches 34.4, 34.5 and 34.6 and marked on the basis of the marking scale 35 by the mark 37 corresponding to the scale numbers "1", "2", "3", "4" or by reading the lowest scale numbers lying in the sliding direction and not covered by the distance comb 3.

The return of the distance comb 3 - for example to switch the hair clipper 1 to a shorter cutting length - is carried out in a simple manner by pushing the slide switch 11 back in the direction opposite the arrow direction x. Here, the clutch plunger 10 is moved in the same direction of thrust and, by the action of the positive guide 27, the clutch wall 16 of the distance comb 3 as a result of the abutment of the tappet-side bevel edge 38 on the corresponding one Inclined edge 39 of the coupling wall 16 into the detent position "1" which causes the smallest cutting length, which is characterized by the engagement of the detent 33 in the notch 34.3. When pushing the clutch plunger 10 further by means of the slide switch 11 in the opposite direction of the arrow x, the coupling lug 14 of the clutch plunger 10 arrives after passing the locking edge 40 which, according to FIG. 5, extends somewhat below the level of the locking shoulder 24 formed by the coupling wall 16, that is to say in the coupling direction x protrudes by a small amount compared to the latter, in the region of the coupling groove 17, which allows the coupling nose 14 of the coupling tappet 10, which rests on the comb-side locking shoulder 18, to escape into the recess 20.

When pushing the coupling plunger 10 further by means of the slide switch 11, the coupling lug 14 overcomes the locking shoulder 18 by pivoting the coupling plunger 10 counterclockwise and thereby releases the distance comb 3 for manual lifting. The slide switch 11 of the hair clipper 1 arrives in the "on" position characterized by the engagement of the locking lug 33 in the locking notch 34.2, in which the hair clipper 1 is still switched on. The repeated pushing back of the slide switch 11 until its latching lever 32 engages in the latching notch 34.1 finally causes the entire drive of the hair clipper 1 to be switched off by means of the electrical switch 21 controlled or actuated by the slide switch 11.

The basic illustration shown in FIG. 7 shows a longitudinally movable selector slide 60, consisting of a printed circuit board 66, a latching lever 62 and a handle 61. The selector slide 60 can be moved in different latching positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 by means of the handle 61. These locking positions are determined by a locking bar 64 fixed in the housing, in whose locking notches the locking lug 63 located at the end of the locking lever 62 snaps into place.

The spacing of the latching positions of the preselection slide 60 corresponds to the spacing of the latching positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the slide switch 11. The latching position of the slide switch 11 is determined by latching levers 32 fastened thereon, the ends of which latch into latching notches of latching bars 34 likewise fixed in the housing.

The slide switch 11 is provided with two sliding contacts 68 and 78, one sliding contact 78 sliding over the conductor track 77 of a printed circuit board 76 fixed in the housing and the other sliding contact 68 sliding over the conductor track 67 of the printed circuit board 66 of the preselector slide 60. The two sliding contacts 68 and 78 are connected to one another in the slide switch 11. The upper end of the conductor track 77 is fixed to the motor M and the upper end of the conductor track 67 is connected via a sliding contact 69. Since the conductor track 77 of the fixed circuit board 76 is connected to a pole of the voltage source, the motor M is switched on when the slide switch 11 connects the two conductor tracks 77 and 67 to one another via the sliding contacts 78 and 68.

The slide switch 11 is in the position shown in FIG. 1 in the locking position "0", that is, the motor is switched off, and the preselection switch 60 is in the locking position "1", corresponding to the shortest adjustable hair length. If the slide switch is now pushed up from the locking position "0" to the locking position "1", the motor switches on since the sliding contact 68 is now connected to the conductor track 67.

If the preselector slide 60 were set to the locking position "4" (dash-dotted lines), which corresponds to the largest adjustable hair length here, the sliding contact 68 would only come into contact with the conductor track 67, that is to say only switch on the motor when the slide switch 11 is also pushed into the locking position "4".

In this way it is ensured that the hair clipper does not start until the slide switch (and with it the attached distance comb) has reached the locking position marked with the selector slide. This solution has the advantage that the hair cannot be cut shorter than selected by mistake. In addition, the hair clipper works as before with all set hair lengths when the preselector 60 is in the locking position "1".

In another solution, the conductor track 67 can also be provided on the printed circuit board 66 so short that the sliding contact 68 comes into contact with the conductor track only in a single latching position of the preselection slide 60, so that the hair clipper only starts up in this single, preselected latching position.
