Description

The invention relates to a pack with a plurality of cuboid cigarette packs, which are surrounded by an outer wrapping made of cardboard, paper or plastic film, with the following features:
  • a) the pack consists of two cuboidal sub-packs, each for holding a row of cigarette packs lying next to one another,
  • b) the cigarette packs of each partial container are completely enveloped by the outer wrapping, such that the outer wrapper of each partial bundle forms an inner broad side, an outer broad side opposite and opposite narrow sides and end faces,
  • c) the cigarette packs are arranged within the row so that they lie against one another with their elongated side faces.

Eine Gebindepackung der eingangs genannten Art ist gezeigt in der DE-A-3 313 462 (entspricht EP-A-0 251 343).Smaller products, for example cigarette packs, are packaged in larger containers for easier handling during transport and in retail. Individual packs of cigarettes are preferably combined by a further wrapper into cigarette packs. A pack of the type mentioned is shown in DE-A-3 313 462 (corresponds to EP-A-0 251 343).

In some countries there are tax or customs regulations so that tax stamps must be affixed to the individual cigarette packets, shortly before delivery to the end user. It is therefore not an option to apply the brands during packaging. Rather, the dealer must open the package, attach the tax stamps and then close the package again. Such an approach is time consuming and uneconomical. It is known from US Pat. No. 2,729,326 to provide a simple, one-piece pack at one side edge with recesses through which markings can be applied.

Starting from the prior art mentioned at the outset, it is the object of the present invention to design a pack so that the individual packs can be provided with markings without the packaging or wrapping having to be opened for this purpose. Furthermore, it is an object of the invention to provide a blank which is suitable for this purpose.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by the following features:
  • The outer wrapping of the partial containers is provided in the area of a narrow side with adjacent recesses for each cigarette pack, such that the bottom surfaces of the cigarette packs facing the recesses are free for attaching stamps or markings,
  • Adjacent recesses are delimited from one another by narrow webs of the outer casing, the Recesses across the full width - smaller dimensions of the bottom surfaces - of the cigarette packs.

It is no longer necessary to open the pack to attach markings. Each pack is advantageously assigned a separate recess in the outer casing, in particular in the region of a bottom surface of the packs. In this case, adjacent recesses are preferably delimited from one another by webs of the outer casing. In this way, the formation of recesses which are too large and thus sensitive to damage is avoided.

Further claims relate to the design and arrangement of the recesses, also in connection with the specially designed container pack shown in DE-A-3 313 462. In addition, claims are provided which are directed to a blank for forming an outer wrapper for a pack.

Die Anordnung der Stege 19 jeweils über den benachbarten Kanten 18 verhindert ein Austreten einzelner Zigaretten- Packungen 13 aus der Gebindepackung 10.A pack 10 is designed as a so-called cigarette rod with two rows 11, 12 of cigarette packs 13 arranged one above the other. An outer wrapping 14 made of cardboard, paper or plastic film holds the pack 10 in the intended shape. 1 each shows bottom surfaces 15 of the cigarette packs 13. Markings 16 are provided on the bottom surfaces 15. To apply the markings, the outer covering 14 has recesses 17 in the region of the base surfaces 15, specifically one recess per base surface. The individual recesses 17 are separated from one another by webs 19 in the region of edges 18 between the bottom surfaces 15 and narrow packaging sides. The recesses 17 extend over the full width, that is, in the direction of section line II-II, of the cigarette packs 13. This means that larger marking elements can also be used to mark the packs. The arrangement of the webs 19 above the adjacent edges 18 prevents individual cigarette packs 13 from escaping from the Package 10.

Fig. 2 zeigt eine Besonderheit der Gebindepackung 10. This can be divided into two sub-packs 20, 21. For this purpose, the outer casing 14 is designed in a special way. The pack rows 11, 12 are each complete, but at the same time encased in a common blank 22 which forms the outer wrapper 14. The latter is explained in more detail in connection with FIG. 4. The two partial containers 20, 21 lie against one another in the region of large front walls 23 and rear walls 24 of the cigarette packs 13. Intermediate broad sides 25, 26 of the outer wrapper 14 are connected to one another in the area of a narrow outer surface 27 of the pack 10. At the same time, a weakening line 28 is provided in the area of this connection, for example as a perforation. Relative to the packs 13, the line of weakness 28 is arranged approximately between the front walls 23 or rear walls 24 and the pack tops opposite the bottom surfaces 15. The recesses 17 are each arranged on the weakening line 28 opposite outer surfaces 29. In this way, the stability and the packaging function of the outer casing 14 are ensured to a particularly high degree. In order to separate the two partial containers 20, 21 from one another, they must be unfolded around the line of weakness 28. Unintentional unfolding is avoided by gluing 30 between the broad sides 25, 26. For better effectiveness, the bonds 30 are arranged adjacent to the recesses 17. The required folding movement is shown in FIG. 2 by a curved double arrow 31. Also part of the envelope are narrow sides 32, 33, the former lying in the area of the weakening line 28 and the latter in the area of the recesses 17. The respective outer front walls and rear walls of the cigarette packs are covered by broad sides 34, 35 of the outer wrapper 14.

To complete the outer casing 14, side tabs 36, 37, 38 are provided, which partially overlap in the finished outer casing 14. The reference numerals 37, 38 designate side longitudinal flaps which are connected to the narrow sides 32 in a continuation thereof. In Fig. 2 it can be seen that the side longitudinal tabs 37, 38 are folded between the broad sides 25, 26 and the front walls 23 and rear walls 24 thereby covered.

Diese Ausführungsform erfüllt besonders hohe Stabilitätsanforderungen.3 shows a pack 10 similar to that in FIGS. 1 and 2, but with somewhat smaller recesses 39. In addition to the webs 19, transverse edge regions 40 delimiting the recesses 39 are provided for this purpose. This embodiment meets particularly high stability requirements.

Seitenlängslappen 37, 38 sind Klebungen 43 zur Fixierung der Außenumhüllung 14 bei der fertigen Gebindepackung 10 vorgesehen.FIG. 4 shows the blank 22 which has been spread out to form the outer covering 14 according to FIG. The longitudinal edges 42 are marked in FIG. 4 as a continuous line and at the same time each represent a longitudinal edge of the broad sides 34, 35. The weakening line 28 is provided parallel to the narrow cut sides 41 and approximately midway between these two. Starting from the latter, a broad side 25 or 26, the narrow side 33, a broad side 34 or 35 and the narrow side 32 are provided in succession from the inside to the outside. The lateral longitudinal flaps 37, 38 each adjoin the latter. The recesses 17 are each arranged in the region of the narrow sides 33 and thus between the broad sides 25 and 34 or 26 and 35. Adhesives 43 are provided on the side tabs 36 or side tabs 37, 38 for fixing the outer wrapping 14 in the finished pack 10.
