Definitions
- the invention is based on an electromagnetically actuated fuel injector and a method for making electrical contact with an electrically actuated fuel injector according to the preamble of claims 1 and 6.
- an electrically actuated fuel injector is already known, which by rotating about its valve longitudinal axis can be attached to a fuel distributor by means of a bayonet catch.
- the first electrical contact elements of the fuel injector projecting parallel to the longitudinal valve axis from the valve housing are electrically contacted by second electrical contact elements which are arranged on a contact strip that can be placed on the fuel distributor in the direction of the longitudinal valve axis.
- the electrical contacting of the known fuel injection valves requires a large structural volume and in particular a large structural height in the direction of their longitudinal valve axes, because the joining process of the contact strip having the second electrical contact elements in the direction of the first electrical contact elements of the fuel injection valves and thus in the direction of the valve longitudinal axes.
- the electrically actuated fuel injector according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 and the method for electrically contacting an electrically actuated fuel injector with the characterizing features of claim 6 have the advantage of a simple, very compact and reliable electrical contact. In this way, e.g. use the space available in the engine compartment of a motor vehicle, for example for an optimized intake manifold system.
- the fuel injection valves according to the invention are very easy to assemble and make electrical contact in the same operation, so that the assembly costs are reduced.
- the first electrical contact element extends in the radial direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the valve.
- FIG. 1 shows a fuel injector according to the exemplary embodiment according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows a view of the fuel injector in the direction of arrow X in FIG. 1
- FIG. 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 2 in the locked state of the fuel injector
- FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in Figure 2 in the locked state of the fuel injector
- Figure 5 shows a section of an electrical connector for electrical contacting of the fuel injector along the line VV in Figure 2.
- an electrical, e.g. Electromagnetically actuated fuel injector 1 for fuel injection systems of, for example, mixture-compression-ignition internal combustion engines is shown.
- the fuel injector 1 is stepped in a continuous, e.g. a circular cross-section valve receiving opening 3 of a fuel distributor 5 serving as a valve receiving device is inserted and is at least partially surrounded by the wall of the valve receiving opening 3 in the direction of a longitudinal valve axis 7.
- the fuel distributor 5 has, for example, an elongated shape running perpendicular to the plane of the drawing and a plurality of valve receiving openings 3. It serves to supply several fuel injectors 1 and is e.g. arranged on an intake manifold 9 of an internal combustion engine.
- the fuel injector 1 has, for example, two fuel supply openings 11 on the circumference of its valve housing 10, through which fuel can get into the interior of the fuel injection valve and which are arranged at least approximately at the same axial height of the valve longitudinal axis 7.
- the fuel injector 1 facing away from the injection piece 13 has, at its other end serving as the connection end 17, for example two first electrical contact elements 19 which extend in the radial direction perpendicular to the valve longitudinal axis 7 beyond the circumference of the connection end 17 and which are used for the electrical contacting of the serve electrically actuated fuel injection valve 1 and which, for example, run in opposite directions and parallel to each other.
- the first electrical contact elements 19 can have the form of band-shaped connector tongues.
- a longitudinally extending fuel supply channel 81 is formed, which is used to supply fuel to the fuel injection valves 1 and is connected, for example, tangentially to the valve receiving openings 3 at an opening cross section 82.
- an upper annular groove 83 is formed upstream of the fuel supply openings 11 and the opening cross section 82, and a lower annular groove 85 is formed in the region of the injection piece 13 downstream of the fuel supply openings 11 and the opening cross section 82.
- An upper sealing ring 87 is arranged in the upper annular groove 83 and a lower sealing ring 89 is arranged in the lower annular groove 85, which serve for sealing between the circumference of the fuel injection valve 1 and the wall of the valve receiving opening 3.
- a holding flange 21 is formed on the valve housing 10 and extends outward in the radial direction.
- the fuel injection valve 1 lies with a contact surface 22 of the holding flange 21 facing the injection piece 13 against a support surface 23 of a holding shoulder 25 of the stepped valve receiving opening 3 facing the holding flange.
- two bayonet bolts 27 which extend radially outward beyond the circumference of the holding flange 21 and which, for example, are opposite to each other and extend in the circumferential direction only over part of the holding flange 21.
- the two electrical contact elements 19 and the two bayonet bolts 27 are arranged offset in the circumferential direction, for example, by 90 ° relative to one another.
- the bayonet latches 27 are used to fasten the fuel injection valve 1 to the fuel distributor 5 by means of a bayonet lock 29, in that the fuel injection valve 1 is inserted into the valve receiving opening 3 of the fuel distributor 5 and fastened by rotating it about its longitudinal valve axis 7. Facing away from the injection piece 13 of the fuel injection valve 1, a bayonet lock 33 surrounding the valve receiving opening 3 is formed on the upper side 31 of the fuel distributor 5 in the axial direction between the upper end 31 and the holding shoulder 25 on the fuel distributor 5.
- the bayonet lock 33 has, for example, two mutually opposite, partially circumferential recesses 35 in the wall of the valve receiving opening 3 for inserting the bayonet latch 27 of the fuel injector 1 in the direction of the valve longitudinal axis 7, which extend from the upper end face 31 to the holding shoulder 25 .
- the recesses 35 are joined by overlapping sections 37, which each encompass the bayonet bolts 27 with a groove 38 formed in the wall of the valve receiving opening 3 and extending in the circumferential direction.
- stops 39 are provided for the bayonet bolts 27.
- the stops 39 define the rotational position of the fuel injector 1 in the valve receiving opening 3 of the fuel distributor 5 and thus the injection geometry of the fuel injector 1.
- the extension of the bayonet bolts 27 in the circumferential direction of the fuel injector is dimensioned, for example, such that when the bayonet bolts 27 abut the stops 39, the bayonet bolts 27 are completely covered by the overlapping sections 37 and are flush with the overlapping sections 37 toward the recesses 35.
- the connector 43 have perpendicular to the valve longitudinal axis 7, in the circumferential direction in the direction of assembly open, for example the shape of slots having plug openings 47 through which the elongated first electrical contact elements 19 in the connector 43 by the rotation of the fuel injector 1 around it Longitudinal axis 7 are partially insertable. In this way, an electrically conductive connection between the second electrical contact elements 45 of the connecting plug 43 and the first electrical contact elements 19 of the fuel injection valves 1 and thus the electrical contacting of the fuel injection valves 1 is established.
- a carrier part 51 is arranged, for example, between two adjacent valve receiving openings 3, which serves to fix the position of electrical conductors 53.
- the electrical conductors 53 are electrically conductively connected to the second electrical contact elements 45 of the connector plugs 43 and serve for the electrical contacting of the fuel injection valves 1.
- the electrical conductors 53 can be provided with an electrically insulating sheath 55 surrounding them.
- the carrier parts 51 are e.g. Part of the fuel distributor 5, that is, for example, also molded onto the fuel distributor 5 and have on their receiving side 57 facing away from the upper end face 31 of the fuel distributor 5, e.g.
- the electrical conductors 53 are arranged in the longitudinal grooves 59 and, for example, partially protrude from the longitudinal grooves 59 in the direction of the valve longitudinal axes 7 beyond the receiving side 57.
- the fuel distributor 5 is covered on its upper side, which has the electrical connecting plug 43, by a cover hood 65 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the fuel distributor 5.
- the cover hood 65 which has, for example, a trough-shaped cross section, has a central cover part 67 which runs perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 7 of the valve. On the side, the cover part 67 is followed by a first leg 69 and a second leg 71 which run at right angles to the cover part 67 and parallel to the valve longitudinal axis 7.
- the cover 65 covers the part of the fuel injector 1 protruding from the valve receiving opening 3 with its first electrical contact elements 19, the carrier parts 51 and the electrical connecting plug 43 and closes off the valve receiving opening 3.
- the legs 69, 71 partially surround the fuel distributor 5 on its sides facing the legs and have locking tabs 73 on their ends facing away from the cover part 67.
- the locking lugs 73 encompass radially outward-pointing holding shoulders 74 of the fuel distributor 5 and thus enable an easy to manufacture and reliable connection between the cover hood 65 and the fuel distributor 5.
- a hold-down element 76 is arranged between the cover part 67 of the cover hood 65 and the receiving side 57 of the carrier part 51 which has the longitudinal grooves 59.
- the hold-down element 76 has such a large extension in the direction of the valve longitudinal axes 7 that with its end face 78 facing the carrier part 51 it holds down the electrical conductors 53 arranged in the longitudinal grooves 59 of the carrier part 51 and thus the electrical conductors 53 slide out of the longitudinal grooves 59 e.g. easily and effectively prevented by vibrations caused by the operation of an internal combustion engine.
- the carrier part 51 is formed as a separate component and is fastened in the longitudinal grooves 59 to the cover hood 65 after the electrical conductors 53 have been mounted, so that a cover cap 65, electrical conductors 53, hold-down element 76 and carrier part 51 are present Pre-assembled component is formed, which can be placed on the fuel distributor 5 in the valve receiving openings 3 after the assembly of the fuel injection valves 1.
- the fuel injector 1 with its bayonet bolts 27 is inserted into the valve receiving opening 3 of the fuel distributor 5 until the bayonet bolts 27 abut the retaining shoulder 25 of the fuel distributor. Then the fuel injector 1 is turned as far as its longitudinal axis 7 in a predetermined direction of rotation, e.g. rotated clockwise until the bayonet latch 27 of the fuel injection valve 1 abuts the stops 39 of the bayonet lock 33.
- the rotary movement makes electrical contact with the fuel injector 1 at the same time, by inserting the first electrical contact elements 19, which extend in the radial direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 7 of the valve, into the electrical connector 43 arranged on the fuel distributor 5 and the connector 43 with the second electrical contact elements 45 be electrically connected.
- two locking pins 95 are formed for each bayonet lock 29, which protrude in the direction of the valve longitudinal axis 7 beyond the contact surface 93.
- the locking pins 95 engage positively in the recesses 35 of the bayonet lock 33. In this way, the locking pins 95 prevent the bayonet bolts 27 and thus the fuel injection valve 1 from turning back against the direction of assembly rotation and thus fix it in the valve receiving opening 3 used fuel injector 1 both in the axial direction and in the direction of rotation.
- the fuel injection valve 1 according to the invention with the first projecting in the radial direction beyond the circumference of the valve housing 10 electrical contact elements 19 enables simple, very compact and reliable electrical contacting.

The invention is based on an electromagnetically actuated fuel injector and a method for making electrical contact with an electrically actuated fuel injector according to the preamble of
The electrical contacting of the known fuel injection valves, however, requires a large structural volume and in particular a large structural height in the direction of their longitudinal valve axes, because the joining process of the contact strip having the second electrical contact elements in the direction of the first electrical contact elements of the fuel injection valves and thus in the direction of the valve longitudinal axes.

In Figures 1 to 4, for example, an electrical, e.g. Electromagnetically actuated
The
In the
For example, following the connection end 17 of the
Provided on the circumference of the
The
On the
The e.g. 5,
On the
In the direction of the longitudinal axis 7 of the valve, a hold-
However, it is also possible that the
To assemble and fasten a
On one of the
The
