  • This invention relates to a wrap-around article carrier as defined in the preamble of claim 1. It relates furthermore to a blank for forming same according to the preamble of claim 7. More particularly, the present invention deals with wrap-around article carriers having at least partially open ends.
  • Wrap-around article carriers are commonly designed to have ends which are either partially or entirely open. In either case the carriers must be provided with means for preventing the articles from falling out the ends.
  • Beverage cans for example, are held in place partly by the tension applied by the carrier blank being wrapped very tightly about them and by the engagement of the top and bottom flanges of the cans with the edges of cutouts in the side panels of the carrier through which the flanges of the cans extend.

Claims (12)

  1. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für mehrere benachbarte Reihen von Gegenständen, deren Bodenabschnitte beabstandet sind, wobei die Tragepackung von der Art ist, die aufweist:
    eine Deckelplatte (12);
    gegenüberliegende, mit der Deckelplatte (12) verbundene Seitenplatten (16);
    eine Bodenplatte (22) mit Endkanten (42, 62) und Seitenkanten, wobei die Bodenplatte (22) eine an einer Seitenkante mit der einen Seitenplatte (16) verbundene innere Bodenplattenklappe (24) und eine über der inneren Bodenplattenklappe (24) liegende und an einer Seitenkante mit der anderen Seitenplatte (16) verbundene äußere Bodenplattenklappe (26) aufweist;
    wobei die äußere Bodenplattenklappe (26) eine schwenkbar daran befestigte integrierte Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe (32) enthält;
    eine Einrichtung zum Festhalten der Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe (32) in einer Lage zwischen den Endgegenständen;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß:
    die innere Bodenplattenklappe (24) eine nahe an der Endkante (62) der Tragepackung angeordnete Öffnung (56) enthält, die Öffnung (56) einen inneren Kantenabschnitt (60) und einen äußeren Kantenabschnitt (58) besitzt, der äußere Kantenabschnitt (58) näher an der zugeordneten Endkante (42, 62) der Bodenplatte (22) angeordnet ist, als es der innere Kantenabschnitt (60) ist; und
    die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe benachbart zu dem inneren Kantenabschnitt (60) der Öffnung (56) längs einer sich im wesentlichen parallel zu der benachbarten Endkante (42, 62) der Bodenplatte (22) der Tragepackung erstreckenden Faltlinie (40) verbunden ist, wobei sich die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe (32) durch die Öffnung (56) hindurch zwischen Endgegenständen in den benachbarten Reihen erstreckt, um die Bodenabschnitte der Endgegenstände auf Abstand zu halten.
  2. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die innere und äußere Bodenplattenklappe (24, 26) miteinander verbundene mechanische Verriegelungseinrichtungen (78, 80, 82, 84) zum Unterstützen der Rückhalteklappe (32) bei der Verriegelung der inneren und äußeren Bodenplattenklappen miteinander aufweisen.
  3. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Tragepackung eine zu jedem Ende der Tragepackung benachbarte Rückhalteklappe (32) enthält.
  4. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Rückhalteklappe (32) beabstandete Faltlinien (50) enthält, die sich quer zu der Rückhalteklappenfaltlinie (40) erstrecken.
  5. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die sich in der Rückhalteklappe (32) quer erstreckenden Faltlinien (50) die Rückhalteklappe in einen Zentralabschnitt (52) und zwei Seitenabschnitte (54) unterteilen, die Teil der Halteeinrichtung für die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe sind, und sich in einem Winkel zum Zentralabschnitt erstrecken, wobei die Öffnung (56) in der inneren Bodenplattenklappe (24) Seitenkantenabschnitte (72) in Kontakt mit den Seitenabschnitten (54) der Rückhalteklappe (32) besitzt, und die Seitenkantenabschnitte (72) in einem solchen Abstand beabstandet sind, daß sie eine Vorspannkraft auf die Seitenabschnitte (54) ausüben.
  6. Umhüllungs-Tragepackung nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die sich quer erstreckenden Faltlinien (50) in einer Richtung von der Rückhalteklappenfaltlinie (40) weg aufeinander zu laufen.
  7. Im wesentlichen rechteckiger Zuschnitt zum Herstellen einer Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände, welche angepaßt ist, mehrere benachbarte Reihen von Gegenständen zu tragen, deren Bodenabschnitte beabstandet sind, wobei die Zuschnitt von der Art ist, die aufweist:
    eine Deckelplatte (12);
    mit gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Deckelplattenabschnitts (12) verbundene Seitenplattenabschnitte (16);
    eine mit dem einen Seitenplattenabschnitt (16) verbundene innere Bodenplattenklappe (24) und eine mit dem anderen Seitenplattenabschnitt (16) verbundene äußere Bodenplattenklappe (26), wobei die äußere Bodenplattenklappe (26) angepaßt ist, in der Bodenplatte einer aus dem Zuschnitt hergestellten Tragepackung über der inneren Bodenplattenklappe (24) zu liegen;
    wobei die äußere Bodenplattenklappe (26) eine schwenkbar daran befestigte integrierte GegenstandRückhalteklappe (32) enthält;
    eine Einrichtung zum Festhalten der GegenstandRückhalteklappe (32) in einer Lage zwischen den Endgegenständen in einer aus dem Zuschnitt hergestellten Tragepackung;
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß:
    die innere Bodenplattenklappe (24) eine nahe an einer Endkante (62) der inneren Bodenplattenklappe (24) angeordnete Öffnung (56) enthält, wobei die Öffnung (56) einen inneren und äußeren Kantenabschnitt (60, 58) enthält, der äußere Kantenabschnitt (58) näher an der genannten Endkante (62) angeordnet ist als der innere Kantenabschnitt (60); und
    die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe benachbart zu dem inneren Kantenabschnitt (60) der Öffnung (56) längs einer sich im wesentlichen parallel zu der benachbarten Endkante (42) der äußeren Bodenplattenklappe (26) der Tragepackung erstreckenden Faltlinie (40) verbunden ist, und die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe (32) angepaßt ist, durch die Öffnung (56) hindurch zwischen Endgegenstände in benachbarten Reihen von Gegenständen in der aus dem Zuschnitt hergestellten Tragepackung geschwenkt zu werden, um die Bodenabschnitte der Endgegenstände auf Abstand zu halten.
  8. Zuschnitt für eine Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die innere und äußere Bodenplatten klappe (24, 26) mechanische Verriegelungseinrichtungen (78, 80, 82, 84) aufweisen, wobei die mechanische Verriegelungseinrichtungen angepaßt sind, in der aus dem Zuschnitt hergestellten Tragepackung miteinander verriegelt zu werden, um die Rückhalteklappe (32) bei der gegenseitigen Verriegelung der inneren und äußeren Bodenplattenklappen zu unterstützen.
  9. Zuschnitt für eine Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Tragepackungszuschnitt eine zu jedem Ende (42) der äußeren Bodenplattenklappe (26) benachbarte Rückhalteklappe (32) enthält.
  10. Zuschnitt für eine Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Rückhalteklappe (32) beabstandete Faltlinien (50) enthält, die sich quer zur Rückhalteklappenfaltlinie (40) erstrecken.
  11. Zuschnitt für eine Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die sich in der Rückhalteklappe (32) quer erstreckenden Faltlinien (50) die Rückhalteklappe in einen Zentralabschnitt (52) und zwei Seitenabschnitte (54) unterteilen, die Teil der Halteeinrichtung für die Gegenstand-Rückhalteklappe sind und sich in einem Winkel zum Zentralabschnitt (52) erstrecken, wobei die Öffnung (56) in der inneren Bodenplattenklappe (24) Seitenkantenabschnitte (72) besitzt, die angepaßt sind, in Kontakt mit den Seitenabschnitten (54) der Rückhalteklappe (32) in der aus dem Zuschnitt hergestellten Tragepackung zu stehen, und die Seitenkantenabschnitte (72) in einem solchen Abstand beabstandet sind, daß sie eine Vorspannkraft auf die Seitenabschnitte (54) ausüben.
  12. Zuschnitt für eine Umhüllungs-Tragepackung für Gegenstände nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die sich quer erstreckenden Rückhalteklappenfaltlinien (50) in einer Richtung von der Rückhalteklappenfaltlinie (40) weg aufeinander zu laufen.
