Abstract
Description
Das Verbinden von Blechteilen mittels Durchsetzfügen ist in DIN 85934.-5.2.11 definiert. Die zu fügenden Bleche werden längs zweier paralleler begrenzter Linien durch einen mit einer Matrize zusammenwirkenden Stempel eingeschnitten, auf die Matrizenseite durchgedrückt und auf dieser durch Kaltfluß gebreitet, so daß eine Art Nietkopf entsteht. Beim Breiten des Materials weichen die Matrizenschneiden elastisch aus. Die Festigkeit der Verbindung ist in Richtung quer zu den Schneidlinien größer als in Richtung senkrecht dazu. Es sind jedoch auch schon Durchsetzfügewerkzeuge bekanntgeworden, bei denen die Matrize eine geschlossene Kontur aufweist und der Stempel eine dieser gegenüber verkleinerte Kontur besitzt, derart, daß keines der zu fügenden Bleche eingeschnitten wird und so ein fluiddichter Fügepunkt entsteht. Eine solche Vorrichtung ist beispielsweise in der DE-OS 31 06 313, Fig. 7/8, offenbart. Die Matrizenkontur wird dabei von deren Schneidenteilen begrenzt, die gelenkig an einem Sockel abgestützt sind. Andererseits kann man die Blattfedern aber so weich wählen, daß die Schneidenteile auch schon bei geringer Belastung ausweichen; dies ermöglicht das Fügen dünner Bleche aus weichem Material, etwa Aluminium. Die Lager der Schneidenteile sind hier mit einer dem Stempel zugekehrten kreisbogenförmigen Auflage ausgeführt, so daß etwaige Verschmutzungen aus dem Lagerbereich nach unten fallen. Der Amboß ist unterhalb seines Arbeitsbereichs nach innen eingezogen, so daß sich Sammelräume 36 für Späne oder anderen Schmutz ergeben; diese Sammelräume liegen unterhalb der Lager 30. Claims (10)
- Apparatus for clinch-joining pieces of metalwork (16), having a die and a die-plate (12) comprising a stationary anvil (18) and two edge members (24) that are resiliently deflectable in a predetermined direction, the side of the die-plate (12) facing the die (10) defining a continuous die-plate outline of the clinching area, while the die outline is reduced relative to the die-plate outline to such an extent that during joining none of the workpieces (16) is cut through, characterised in that the anvil (18) and the two edge members (24) have plane surfaces facing one another and the die-plate outline is defined by the two edges of the edge members (24) and by a cut-out portion (20) made in the anvil (18).
- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised by an oval die outline and die-plate outline which are matched to the sheet thicknesses in such a manner that the joint on the die-plate side is substantially circular.
- Apparatus according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the edge members (24) are supported in an articulated manner on a base (32) and are pre-stressed against the anvil (18) by leaf springs (34).
- Apparatus according to claim 3, characterised by a positively locking connection between the leaf springs (34) and the edge members (24).
- Apparatus according to claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the edge members (24) are supported on the base (32) by their base-side edges (30) by means of open edge bearings.
- Apparatus according to claim 5, characterised in that a space (36) for swarf has been cut out between the anvil (18) and the base (32), which space continues into the gap between the anvil (18) and the edge members (24).
- Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the edges of the edge members (24) are rounded.
- Apparatus according to claim 7, characterised in that the edge (46), facing the die (10), of the cut-out portion of the anvil is rounded.
- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the edge members (24) have a wear-reducing coating.
- Apparatus according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the die (10) has a collar that limits its depth of penetration.
