Description

The invention relates to a hair roller for producing permanent hair styling.

From EP-OS 0 056 605 a wavy hair curler is known, with which a relatively natural hair styling is achieved using a special, complex winding method. The disadvantage of this hair curler is that it is not very suitable for the winding technique used in practice, the so-called flat winding.
With this technique, a strand of hair is wound tangentially. If the winder of EP-OS 0 056 605 were to be used in this way, then a strand of hair could only be placed around the winder sufficiently firmly. On the other hand, a large number of the hairs of a strand of strands would only hang loosely on the curler while forming loops. The precise shaping advantageous for permanent corrugation would not be achievable.

In FR-PS 24 586 a hair roller with comb teeth is described, which is designed wavy. In this, individual waves can be deflected differently. Due to different deflections of individual vibrations, a relatively natural hair curl is only achieved to a small extent, since different wavy areas are too far apart. A collapse and mixing of corresponding areas of a strand of hair no longer occurs. In addition, the loops mentioned above are formed in the winder of FR-PS 24 586.

Die DE-U 89 11 970 offenbart einen Haarwickler elliptischen Querschnitts gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1, dessen Querschnitt zu den Wicklerenden hin vergrößert ist.DE-U 89 11 970 discloses a hair curler of elliptical cross section according to the preamble of claim 1, the cross section of which is enlarged towards the ends of the curler.

From FR-OS 23 85 354 coiled hair curlers are known according to the preamble of claim 3. In cross-section, these hair curlers have an angular or rounded shape.

The invention has for its object to provide a hair curler that enables loop-free flat winding, and with which a hair curl can be achieved that largely corresponds to a natural hair curl.

The object is achieved according to the characterizing parts of claims 1 or 3.

According to claim 1, the hair roller is curved in its longitudinal direction at least along a section such that its surface lines run axially asymmetrically to the center line in a cutting plane running through its center line. In a radial section through its central axis, the hair curler has an elliptical cross section in a section with the aforementioned features. The ellipse diameters change in the longitudinal direction. However, the ellipse circumference remains constant.

According to claim 3, the hair roller is wound in its longitudinal direction at least along a section. The winding, based on the total length of the winder, is between half a turn and three turns. A cutting plane running radially through the central axis of the hair roller has an elliptical shape with the same circumference at all times. The larger ellipse diameter is at most four times the smaller one.

The hair curlers according to the invention have the advantage that they can be used to implement a hair curl that largely corresponds to that of naturally wavy hair. The naturally occurring uneven curl is reproduced either by the elliptical cross-section which changes periodically or non-periodically in the longitudinal direction of the hair roller (claim 1) or by a winding of the hair roller with a relatively sharp rise (claim 3). As a result of that all elliptical cross-sectional areas have the same circumference, all hair of a strand can be wound under the same tension, so that no loop formation occurs on part of the strand. The most common winding method, the flat winding, is used in the hair roller according to the invention. A user thus does not have to deal with a new type of winding technology that is unusual for him.

Further advantageous embodiments of the hair curler according to the invention are described in claims 2 and 4 to 10.

The axis symmetry of a second cutting plane rotated by 90 ° to the first cutting plane about the central axis (claim 2) facilitates the manufacture of the hair roller according to claim 1 insofar as, for example, the molds for plastic molding can be manufactured more easily. The intersection points of the ellipse diameters then lie on the central axis of the hair roller.

If the section is adjoined by a region whose circumference increases continuously in the longitudinal direction pointing away from the section (claim 4), the hair curlers according to the invention can also be used in a manner known per se for a particularly uniform tangential winding of a strand of hair, with superimposed winding levels hardly experience any curvature in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the hair roller.

If, according to claim 5, rotationally symmetrically oriented cylindrical regions are provided at the ends of the hair rollers with respect to the central axis of the hair roller, the handling of the hair roller is thereby improved.

A rubber band suitable for better fixation of the hair curlers can be stretched in a simple manner along the hair curlers if, according to claim 6, devices for receiving this rubber band are provided at the ends of the hair curlers.

If a hair roller is hollow and openings are provided in its outer surface (claim 7), it is achieved in addition to a significant reduction in weight that no jam of the treatment liquid can occur on the roller, since excess liquid can flow into the roller.

The grip of a hair roller is increased and its slippage capacity is reduced if, according to claim 8, the outer surface of the hair roller is rough.

A system of different sizes with regard to the length and / or the diameter and / or the geometry of the curved section (claim 9) has the advantage that special hair curlers are available for specific hair lengths or applications. A relatively simple recognition and assignment of these hair curlers is achieved if uniform curler sizes are provided with a uniform color.

If, according to claim 11, the curler according to claim 1 is two-colored, and the color separation takes place via an essentially wavy, longitudinal dividing line, then the optical recognition of the curved hair curler by the user is improved.

A hair roller 1 according to claim 1 as a first embodiment is curved in its longitudinal direction (Figure 1). The generatrices 2a in the first sectional plane running through the central axis 3 of the hair roller 1, which corresponds to the paper plane in FIG. 1, do not run axisymmetrically to the central axis 3, but rather approximately equidistant from one another. In a radial section through the central axis 3 of the hair roller 1 in the curved section 4, the hair roller 1 has an elliptical cross section. A series of radial cuts (AA to GG) at equal intervals is shown in Figure 5. For better clarification of how the ellipse diameters change in the longitudinal direction of the hair roller 1 and that the scope of the section is always constant, the ellipse diameters are given below: a₁ = 9.55; a₂ = 9.45; b₁ = 9.63; b₂ = 9.37; c₁ = 9.77; c₂ = 9.23; d₁ = 9.93; d₂ = 9.07; e₁ = 10.04; e₂ = 8.96; f₁ = 10.07; f₂ = 8.93; g₁ = 9.99; g₂ = 9.01 [mm].
In the curved section 4 of the hair roller 1 must be do not change the ellipse diameter periodically. An unperiodic, irregular change over part of the curved section 4 is just as acceptable as one over the entire area of the curved section 4. In a second sectional plane rotated by 90 ° around the central axis 3 in relation to the first sectional plane, the surface lines 2b are axis-symmetrical to the central axis (FIG 2). The curved section 4 is adjoined on both sides with respect to the central axis 3 of the hair roller 1 by rotationally symmetrical cylindrical regions 5 (FIG. 1, FIG. 2). At the ends of the hair roller 1, devices 6 for receiving a rubber band, not shown, are provided in a manner known per se. These devices 6 consist of an annular groove 7 and a cam 8.

In a further exemplary embodiment of the hair curler 1 according to claim 1, the curved section 4 is followed by an area 9, the circumference of which continuously increases in the longitudinal direction pointing away from the curved section 4 (FIG. 3, FIG. 4).
The following dimensioning has proven to be a practical example of a winder size: length (without devices 6): approx. 80 mm, ellipse diameter and distances as indicated above.

In one embodiment of the hair roller according to claim 3, the hair roller 10 is wound in its longitudinal direction in a section 11 (Figure 6). In section 11, the helix makes approximately one complete revolution. Based on the total length of the winder, there are approx. 1.5 turns purely mathematically. A narrower turn than that specified according to the invention can cause individual parts of a strand of hair to slide away in the longitudinal direction of the hair roller 10. The wound strand of hair is thus split. A steeper turn than that of the invention given, however, no longer leads to the desired hair treatment result, which should be a curl that comes very close to the natural hair curl. In a radial section through the central axis 12 of the hair roller 10 in the coiled section 11, the hair roller has an elliptical cross section. A series of equidistant radial cuts (AA to EE) is shown in FIG. 7. The representations show ellipses of the same diameter h 1 and h 2. Compared to section AA, the ellipse of section BB is rotated 45 ° around its center of gravity. Up to the section EE, the ellipse was successively rotated by 180 °.
The shape of the ellipse is defined according to the invention such that it has a constant circumference, and that the larger ellipse diameter h 1 is at most four times the size of the smaller ellipse diameter h 2.
From a factor greater than four, the ellipse is extended too much in one direction and the other direction perpendicular to it is insufficiently pronounced. The consequence of this is too much hair styling at the smallest radius of curvature of the ellipse and too weak hair styling at the largest radius of curvature.

The hair curler 10 (FIG. 6) is configured analogously to the hair curler 1 (FIGS. 1 and 3) at its ends with devices 13a, 13b for receiving a rubber band, cylindrical areas 14, and conical areas 15.
Of course, all other fastening devices known on hair rollers, such as. B. by the winder ends plug-in fastening pins or clamps for a winder fastening instead of the described fastening devices for attaching the hair winder 1.10 according to the invention.

Claims (11)

  1. A hair curler which is undulatory along at least a portion of its length and in this portion has an elliptical cross-section when sectioned radially through its central axis (3), the elliptical diameter altering in the longitudinal direction, characterised in that its surface lines (2a) in a sectional plane running through its central axis (3) run axially asymmetrical to the central axis (3), and in that the circumference of the said elliptical cross-section is constant.
  2. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1, characterised in that the surface lines (2b) in a second sectional plane - which is rotated through 90° about the central axis (3) in relation to the first sectional plane - run axially symmetrical to the central axis (3).
  3. A hair curler which is helical along at least a portion (11) of its length and the spiralling amounts to between half a revolution and three revolutions relative to the entire curler length, characterised in that a sectional plane running radially through the central axis (12) of the hair curler (10) is ellipse-shaped and has a constant circumference and the elliptical shape has a larger elliptical diameter (h₁) and a smaller elliptical diameter (h₂), the larger elliptical diameter (h₁) being at most four times as great as the smaller elliptical diameter (h₂).
  4. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised in that adjacent to the portion (4, 11) there is a region (9, 15) whose circumference steadily increases in the longitudinal direction, in the direction away from the portion (4, 11).
  5. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised in that cylindrical regions (5, 14) are provided at the ends of the hair curler (1, 10) and are oriented in a rotationally-symmetrical manner in relation to the central axis (3, 12) of the hair curler (1, 10).
  6. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised in that devices (6, 7, 8, 13a, 13b) for receiving a rubber band are provided at the ends of the hair curler (1, 10).
  7. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised in that the hair curler is hollow and has openings in its shell surface.
  8. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised in that the outer shell surface of the hair curler is rough.
  9. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1 or 3, characterised by a system of different sizes with regard to length and/or diameter and/or geometry of the hair curler.
  10. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 9, characterised in that all curlers of the same curler size are the same colour.
  11. A hair curler in accordance with Claim 1, characterised in that the curler is two-coloured and the colour separation takes place via a separating line which runs in the longitudinal direction and is substantially undulatory.
