Definitions
- the invention relates to a switch with housed in a multi-part housing fixed electrical contacts and a movable contact-carrying contact bridge carrier, which is operatively connected to a plunger and the plunger is operatively connected to a drive member mounted in the drive head and can be actuated by this.
- Switches with drive heads are, for example, limit switches, limit switches or the like, in which the actuating element contained in the drive head deflects the control movement into a switching movement.
- the actuating element contained in the drive head deflects the control movement into a switching movement.
- tappet lifters, roller lifters, swivel levers, roller levers, angular roller levers, adjusting roller levers, rod levers, spring bars and switching wheels, control rollers or the like are known as drive elements. If the actuating force ceases to exist, the switch is brought back from the active position into the starting position, this operative connection between the drive element and the contact bridge carrier being established by a plunger.
- limit switches of this type which are designed, for example, as safety switches, is described, for example, in DE-OS 33 30 109, EP-PS 0 175 156, DE-OS 31 00 862, DE-OS 24 25 898, EP-A 0 354 656 and DE-U 88 022 187.
- Switches of the type mentioned are generally to be secured against subsequent manipulation by housings, housing openings being closed by means of latchable lids equipped with additional safeguards.
- an assembly-friendly design of such switches is required, which permits automatic manufacture and assembly with high precision.
- the formation of the functional parts of the switch in a universal manner, which permit a variation of the switch in the structure, is also often desired.
- the invention has for its object to provide a switch of the generic type taking into account the aforementioned requirements.
- This object is achieved in the generic switch in that the plunger is rotatably mounted in the contact bridge support about its plunger axis. This makes it possible to rotate the drive head together with the tappet around the tappet axis, even when it is installed in the housing, and to offset it, for example, by 90 ° or 180 °. In this way, it becomes possible to change the drive directions for the drive head with respect to the housing of the switch and the contacts independently of the housing which receives the contacts. In particular, this displacement of the drive head can be done without dismantling the switch, i.e. without loosening the plunger from the contact bridge support.
- the rotatable mounting of the tappet in the contact bridge carrier can be carried out, for example, by forming a retaining web on the contact bridge carrier on the side facing the tappet extending transversely to the tappet axis, this retaining web being at least semicircular, in particular U-shaped, and the tappet having one in the region of the plunger end formed annular groove in a direction transverse to the plunger axis from the open U-side of the retaining web can be pushed onto this, so that the plunger is secured against removal by the contact bridge carrier.
- This inventive construction of hanging the contact carrier on the drive head via the plunger also ensures that the drive head inserted into the housing when the switch is mounted is inevitably locked by the contact bridge carrier, that is to say it can no longer be removed. If only now Removal of the contact bridge carrier from the housing can be secured by a corresponding locked closure of the housing opening through which the contact bridge carrier is inserted, the task is solved to hold the drive head in the desired position even during assembly without additional aids.
- a further embodiment of the switch according to the invention for securing the locked position of the parts used and against unauthorized opening is proposed according to the characterizing features of claim 4.
- An essential feature of this embodiment of securing the lock for the hinged cover of the housing, which closes the control room, is that the separate closure part is already arranged in a corresponding position during the assembly process within the housing and thus automatically closes the already existing one when the hinged cover is closed Locking device in the form of the closure part is activated.
- This configuration of the closure of the hinged lid for the housing has the advantage that the closure part, since it is housed within the housing, can no longer be easily removed from the outside after the housing has been closed, or can not be forgotten, this closure part Having to insert the fuse on the outside.
- the closure part and its use inside the housing can be designed so that it can only be opened by destroying, for example, outer covering parts by means of auxiliary tools, so that it is visible whether the housing has been opened. Due to the special arrangement of the closure part for the hinged cover within the housing, it is possible to lock and secure the position of the drive head already during assembly of the housing by means of parts to be used, for example the drive head, and thus to create the prerequisite for the drive head in its Lock the position in a movable manner by snapping the hinged cover covering the switch compartment into the closure part.
- the safety switch S shown in FIG. 1 is used to monitor the closed position of protective covers, such as doors, flaps, hoods, protective grilles.
- the safety switch is usually firmly attached to the machine to be protected, while the actuator 3 is firmly connected to the protective cover.
- the actuator 3 is then inserted through the opening in the cover, which is still closed with the cover 20, and switches the drive head of the safety switch arranged under the cover 2.
- the cover 2 is screwed onto the housing 1 of the safety switch by means of screws 22, the switch room with the contacts and contact bridge carrier being accommodated in the housing 1.
- the control room is accessible via the hinged cover 26.
- FIG 2 the safety switch with the individual parts is shown in an exploded view.
- the housing 1 has the switching space 16, which is accessible via the opening 187, which is closed by means of the hinged cover 26, and the drive chamber 188, which is accessible via the housing opening 197, which is closed by means of the cover 2.
- the closure part 25 the sealing ring 24, the bushing 23, the preassembled drive head 500 with compression spring 9 around the plunger and the cover 2 with screws 22 and cover 20 for the opening 21 are inserted in the drive chamber 188.
- the contacts 11a, 12a are inserted into the switching space 16 through the opening 187, then the contact bridge support 41 is inserted and pushed onto the annular groove 43 at the end of the plunger, then the protective plate 28 is placed on and the hinged cover 26 is snapped into place the locking lug 261 is closed in the closure part 25 seated behind the recess 184 in the housing.
- the cable entry socket 27 is screwed in on the underside of the housing.
- the lid 2 is placed over the drive head to close the housing 1 and preferably locked with it.
- the screws 22 serve to finally fix the cover on the housing 1 after the desired position of the drive head 500 with the cover 2 has been reached.
- FIG. 3 shows a perspective partial section of the assembled safety switch according to FIG. 1 and the end positions of the individual parts can be seen, but the hinged lid 26 is still open.
- the plunger 4 By holding and guiding the plunger 4 in the contact carrier 41 via the annular groove 43, it is possible to rotate the plunger about its longitudinal axis when in the contact and thus also to turn the drive head 500 and by 90 ° as desired in to move the housing 1. Accordingly, the openings 21 for the actuator 3 can be aligned, which is important for the use of the safety switch and mounting on the corresponding machine and enables the actuator 3 instead of only two four actuator directions. From the sectional view according to FIG.
- closure part 25 is inserted from above in a recess 183 or grooves on the inside of the housing 1 and is fixed therein in a hanging position with a little free space below it.
- the closure part is designed to be resilient in such a way that it can be spread apart in the vertical direction in order to enable the hinged lid to snap into place.
- a part of the closure part 25 is visible and accessible from the outside via the recess 184 of the housing 1. In this area there is also the opening 255 formed in the closure part 25 with the latching web 257 underneath.
- the latching lug 261 formed on the inside of the hinged lid 26 can pass through the recess 184 and through the opening 255 of the closure part via the latching web 257 of the locking part, while pressing the spring-loaded locking part slightly down and hooking it.
- the Hinged lid 26 is then no longer open without aids from this latching, which at the same time forms an additional safeguard through the inside attachment of the closure part 25 on the housing.
- FIGS. 9a and b A possible embodiment of a closure part according to the invention which can be inserted into the housing and which is placed on the inside in front of a recess in the housing is shown in perspective in FIGS. 9a and b in front and rear view.
- the closure part 25 is resilient in the manner of a clamp with two parts 251, 253, which are connected to one another via the corner 258.
- the part 251 forms the frame-like guide piece, which at the same time has the latching web 257 for hooking the latching lug of the hinged lid and the opening 255, which can be reached through the recess 184 of the housing when the closure piece is inserted into the housing.
- the closure part 25 With the lateral frame parts adjoining the latching web 257, the closure part 25 is guided in a corresponding groove in the housing, which forms an insertion pocket, so that after insertion it can only be moved slightly with respect to the molded resilient arm 253.
- the resilient arm 253 extends parallel to the latching web 257 on the upper side of the closure part or guide piece opposite this.
- the resilient arm 253 is configured at its free end opposite the joint 258 to project beyond the guide piece 251 and has at this end a projecting retaining web 254 with which the resilient arm 253 engages in a corresponding recess on the inner wall of the housing and thus in its position is fixed.
- the closure part 25 hangs resiliently and can be pulled down with its guide piece.
- a further guidance of the closure part 25 in the recess 184 of the housing is achieved by the guide frame 252 of the closure part which projects with respect to the latching web 257 and with respect to the spring arm 253 in the direction of the outside of the housing and which bears laterally in the recess 184 with its two longitudinal sides.
- the guide frame 252 is smaller than the recess 184 so that it can be moved therein in accordance with the required detent path.
- the plunger 4 is guided through the central passage 193 of the housing into the switching space 16, where the contact bridge carrier 41 is suspended in the annular groove of the plunger at the end of the plunger.
- the drive chamber 188 is designed with corresponding shoulders 181, 182 for the insertion of the various parts, such as drive head with housing part 1 a and bushing 23 and sealing ring 24.
- the housing above the housing opening 187 to be closed with the hinged cover is equipped with an additional small window, the recess 184.
- This recess 184 is followed on the inside by the insertion pocket 183 formed by a circumferential, upwardly open groove, into which the closure part 25 according to FIG. 9 is inserted from above.
- the resilient arm 253 with the retaining web 254 then remains in the laterally widened niche 189 adjoining the insertion pocket on the inside of the housing, so that the closure part hangs on the spring arm 253 on the inside in front of the recess 184 in the drive space.
- the closure part is then covered upwards and is fixed in this position.
- the opening 190 to the stepped shoulders 181, 182 is possibly formed in the interior of the housing. Connected to the shoulders are the passage 193 designed as a through-bore for pushing through the plunger and the upwardly open annular groove 192 surrounding it for receiving the compression spring 9 surrounding the plunger.
- the cover 2 of the switching device or safety switch is not only placed over the drive head 500, but is preferably also latched with latching hooks integrally formed on the drive head or its housing support part 1a, so that it cannot be removed from it without being destroyed after it has been put on.
- FIGS. 10 a, b Two further perspective views of the housing cover 2 according to FIGS. 2, 3 are shown in FIGS. 10 a, b.
- protruding locking projections 201 or niches 202, 203 are formed on two opposite sides of the cover, into which corresponding locking hooks of the drive head or of the housing part 1a carrying the drive head snap into place.
- the drive head contains the switching wheel 5, which is in operative connection with the plunger 4 via the connecting rod 15 and is mounted in the housing part 1a by means of a shaft 51 is.
- Latches are arranged on either side of the ratchet wheel, which engage the ratchet wheel under spring load and are pushed into the unlocking position by the actuator in order to move the ratchet wheel and switch on the switch.
- the switching wheel 5 is only intended for one direction of rotation for switching on the switch.
- the operative connection with the plunger 4 is established via the connecting rod 15, which is articulated eccentrically on the ratchet wheel 5 with shaft bolts 151 and only permits one closing direction for the switch.
- the switching wheel 5 has on the outer circumference two radial slots 504, 505 for the engagement of the actuator 3 from two possible mutually perpendicular directions through the openings 21 of the cover 2.
- the cutouts 506, 507 are located on the end face of the switching wheel 5 on both sides in the area between the two radial slots 504, 505 for the engagement of the latches 17a, 17b.
- the ratchet wheel 5, the latches 17a, 17b are received by the housing part 1a or inserted into this.
- the bars 17a, 17b are mirror-symmetrical to each other (as left and right bars).
- the latches have a protruding locking lug 172 in the middle at the front for positive engagement in the cutouts 506, 507 on the switching wheel 5.
- the bolts 17a, 17b are each formed with an inclined sliding surface 173a, 173b assigned to the two directions of movement of the actuator corresponding to the two openings 21 formed on the cover 2 on both sides of the latching nose 172 arranged centrally on the longitudinal axis of the bolt.
- the sliding surfaces run at 45 ° with respect to the direction of movement of the actuator or the end faces of the ratchet wheel.
- the bolts 17a, 17b are guided in guide grooves 102 of the housing part 1a with guide webs 176, for example three distributed over the circumference, and are thus displaceable against a spring force parallel to the shaft axis of the ratchet wheel and to its longitudinal axis.
- the spring loading of the bolts 17a, 17b is achieved by means of a single compression spring 19, which is fastened on the upper side of the bolts 17a, 17b to a respective projection 177 of the bolts.
- the unlocking, i.e. the bars 17a, 17b are then moved apart against the spring pressure of the compression spring 19 by the actuator formed with corresponding sliding surfaces at its front end.
- the connecting rod 15 is connected to the ratchet or tappet by means of pivot pins 151, 152.
- the coaxial to the shaft axis 51 arranged torsion spring 54 is arranged in the ratchet wheel, which is only effective to overcome the dead center of the connecting rod. As soon as the connecting rod is moved outside the dead center position, the torsion spring has no effect.
- the plunger 4 is equipped with an annular groove 43 at its lower end, at which it comes into operative connection with the contact bridge which carries the contacts.
- the plunger is drawn in a sectional view.
- the annular groove 43 enables the plunger in the contact carrier 41 to be rotated about its longitudinal axis 42. This in turn has the consequence that the entire drive head from housing part 1a with ratchet wheel and locking device including plunger and with unscrewed screws 22 with cover 2 can be rotated about the plunger axis, so that the openings 21 are displaced into another position for the engagement of the actuator can.
- the housing part 1a shows in two perspective views from above a and b below the housing part 1a, which accommodates the functional parts of the drive head, see FIG. 4.
- the underside of the housing part has the annular collar 108 with which it sits on the first shoulder of the drive chamber of the housing 1.

- the housing part 1a is equipped on the top side with bearing blocks 101 with corresponding guides with grooves 102 on both sides of the central bushing.
- the shaft bore 103 for receiving the shaft 51 carrying the ratchet wheel 5 is formed continuously in the bearing blocks 101 of the bolt.
- latching hooks 104 are formed, on two opposite sides either in a symmetrical arrangement or in a two-to-one arrangement.
- the cover 2 pushed over the drive head is attached to this latching hook 104 permanently locked.
- FIGS. 6 and 7 the plunger 6 and the contact bridge support 41 are shown in an enlarged view in perspective.
- the plunger 6 is formed with an annular groove 43 in the region of its end 44 to be connected to the contact carrier 41.
- the plunger 4 is thus rotatable about its longitudinal axis 42 in the annular groove 43.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a switch with housed in a multi-part housing fixed electrical contacts and a movable contact-carrying contact bridge carrier, which is operatively connected to a plunger and the plunger is operatively connected to a drive member mounted in the drive head and can be actuated by this.
Switches with drive heads are, for example, limit switches, limit switches or the like, in which the actuating element contained in the drive head deflects the control movement into a switching movement. For example, tappet lifters, roller lifters, swivel levers, roller levers, angular roller levers, adjusting roller levers, rod levers, spring bars and switching wheels, control rollers or the like are known as drive elements. If the actuating force ceases to exist, the switch is brought back from the active position into the starting position, this operative connection between the drive element and the contact bridge carrier being established by a plunger. The prior art for limit switches of this type, which are designed, for example, as safety switches, is described, for example, in DE-OS 33 30 109, EP-PS 0 175 156, DE-OS 31 00 862, DE-OS 24 25 898, EP-A 0 354 656 and DE-U 88 022 187.
Switches of the type mentioned are generally to be secured against subsequent manipulation by housings, housing openings being closed by means of latchable lids equipped with additional safeguards. In addition, an assembly-friendly design of such switches is required, which permits automatic manufacture and assembly with high precision. The formation of the functional parts of the switch in a universal manner, which permit a variation of the switch in the structure, is also often desired.
The invention has for its object to provide a switch of the generic type taking into account the aforementioned requirements. This object is achieved in the generic switch in that the plunger is rotatably mounted in the contact bridge support about its plunger axis.
The rotatable mounting of the tappet in the contact bridge carrier can be carried out, for example, by forming a retaining web on the contact bridge carrier on the side facing the tappet extending transversely to the tappet axis, this retaining web being at least semicircular, in particular U-shaped, and the tappet having one in the region of the plunger end formed annular groove in a direction transverse to the plunger axis from the open U-side of the retaining web can be pushed onto this, so that the plunger is secured against removal by the contact bridge carrier. This inventive construction of hanging the contact carrier on the drive head via the plunger also ensures that the drive head inserted into the housing when the switch is mounted is inevitably locked by the contact bridge carrier, that is to say it can no longer be removed. If only now Removal of the contact bridge carrier from the housing can be secured by a corresponding locked closure of the housing opening through which the contact bridge carrier is inserted, the task is solved to hold the drive head in the desired position even during assembly without additional aids.
A further embodiment of the switch according to the invention for securing the locked position of the parts used and against unauthorized opening is proposed according to the characterizing features of

The safety switch S shown in FIG. 1 is used to monitor the closed position of protective covers, such as doors, flaps, hoods, protective grilles. The safety switch is usually firmly attached to the machine to be protected, while the
In Figure 2, the safety switch with the individual parts is shown in an exploded view. The
Der Klappdeckel 26 ist dann nicht mehr ohne Hilfsmittel aus dieser Verrastung, die zugleich eine zusätzliche Sicherung durch die innenseitige Anbringung des Verschlußteiles 25 am Gehäuse bildet, geöffnet werden.FIG. 3 shows a perspective partial section of the assembled safety switch according to FIG. 1 and the end positions of the individual parts can be seen, but the hinged
A possible embodiment of a closure part according to the invention which can be inserted into the housing and which is placed on the inside in front of a recess in the housing is shown in perspective in FIGS. 9a and b in front and rear view. The
For the closure of the hinged cover and the locking device, the housing above the
The
In the safety switch shown in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the drive head, as shown in FIG. 4 in an exploded view, contains the

The operative connection with the
The connecting
The
An diesen Rasthaken 104 wird der über den Antriebskopf aufgeschobene Deckel 2 unlösbar verrastet.5 shows in two perspective views from above a and b below the
In FIGS. 6 and 7, the plunger 6 and the
The contact bridge support according to FIGS. 2 and 3 is shown in FIGS. 7a and b in two perspective views, in FIG. 7c in partial cross section FG according to FIG. 7a and in FIG. 7b equipped with the contacts in perspective.
The
