Definitions
- the invention relates to a piston compressor for oil-free compression of a gas, with at least one piston which can be moved back and forth in a cylinder by means of a crankshaft and a connecting rod articulated on the piston and whose section facing the compression space as a dry-running gas sealing part provided with a labyrinth seal is formed, whereas the portion of the piston facing the crankshaft is designed as a lubricated guide part sliding in the cylinder.
- Such compressors which are known for example from CH-PS 668 458, are used to compress very different gases, such as nitrogen, hydrocarbons or ammonia.
- gases such as nitrogen, hydrocarbons or ammonia.
- normal mechanical engineering materials have been used for the piston and for the cylinder.
- a relatively large clearance for example ⁇ 0.1 mm for a cylinder diameter of 200 mm, was provided between the guide part and the surrounding cylinder wall on the one hand and the gas sealing part and the surrounding cylinder wall on the other to take into account the different thermal expansions during operation.
- the compressor may then have to be opened for inspection and / or repair purposes, special precautions must be taken to prevent such gas from escaping into the atmosphere when gases that are hazardous to the environment, such as ammonia, are compressed. Furthermore, the efficiency of the compressor is relatively low when using a relatively large clearance between the gas sealing part and the surrounding cylinder wall.

- the gas sealing part and the guide part of the piston consist of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion ⁇ is essentially zero, and in that a space through which a coolant flows is provided in the wall of the cylinder and which covers the range of movement of the piston surrounds.
- This configuration ensures that both the difference between the outside diameter of the guide part and the inside diameter of the surrounding cylinder wall and the difference between the outside diameter of the gas sealing part and the inside diameter of the surrounding cylinder wall are subject to only slight, temperature-related changes. This allows the differences mentioned or the respective play between the piston part in question and the surrounding cylinder wall to be measured very small, for example ⁇ 0.05 mm for a 200 mm cylinder diameter.

- suction and pressure valves are accommodated in a known manner. With 20 the compression space between the piston 5 and the cylinder head 8 is designated.
- the one-piece piston 5 consists of an oil-lubricated guide part or guide piston 11, which is articulated via a piston pin 4 'to the connecting rod 4, and a gas sealing part or working piston 12, which has a much smaller diameter than the guide piston 11.
- the working piston 12 is provided on its outer surface with a labyrinth seal.
- the guide piston 11 slides during operation of the compressor with its outer jacket surface on the inner cylinder wall 13 of the double-walled cylinder housing 6.
- the latter has a plurality of oil scraper rings 14, which are accommodated in annular grooves of the guide piston, one of which practice: r the piston circumference distributed oil drain holes 14 'go out and open into the interior of the piston.
- an oil scraper ring 15 is provided which, like the rings 14, is held in an annular groove which is connected to the piston interior via oil discharge holes 15 '. In the drawn position of the piston 5, this is approximately in the middle between the top and bottom dead center. Approximately at the point where the transition from the guide piston 11 to the working piston 12 is at the top dead center position of the piston 5, there is a space 30 of low pressure in the cylinder housing 6, a! which is connected to a leakage drain 16 and which serves to equalize the pressure.
- the leakage discharge 16 consists of a plurality of openings distributed over the circumference of the housing 6, to which a schematically illustrated ring line 31 is connected.
- a line 32 is connected to the ring line 31, which leads via an oil filter 33 to a container 34 in which essentially the same low pressure prevails as in the space 30.

- Ueber The ring line 31 and the line 32 are displaced by the piston movements gas, leakage gas from the labyrinth seal on the working piston 12 and if necessary, small amounts of leakage oil penetrating from the crankcase 1 and not detected by the oil scraper rings 14, 15 are removed from the space 30.
- the leak oil is separated from the gas in the filter 33 and can be returned to the crankcase 1 via a line (not shown).
- a line 36 extends between the crankcase 1 and the suction side of the compressor and also serves to equalize the pressure and has an oil filter 37 in order to prevent oil from penetrating from the crankcase to the suction side. The same low pressure therefore prevails on both sides of the guide piston 11.
- the double-walled cylinder housing 6 there are two spaces 17 and 18 through which coolant flows, of which the space 17 surrounds the guide piston 11 and the space 18 surrounds the working piston 12.
- the two rooms 17 and 18 are separated from one another on the coolant side, and each of the two rooms is provided with its own coolant supply, of which only the supply 18 'to the room 18 is shown in FIG. 1.
- the supply to the room 17, not shown in FIG. 1 is preferably arranged near the fastening flange 6 ', in such a way that the coolant enters the space 17 tangentially.
- the coolant discharge which is again not shown in FIG. 1, is also separate. Through this separate coolant supply and removal, the cooling of the associated piston part can be adjusted individually.
- the piston 5 as a whole consists of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion ⁇ is essentially zero, for example one with approximately 35 percent by weight Nickel alloyed cast iron.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a piston compressor for oil-free compression of a gas, with at least one piston which can be moved back and forth in a cylinder by means of a crankshaft and a connecting rod articulated on the piston and whose section facing the compression space as a dry-running gas sealing part provided with a labyrinth seal is formed, whereas the portion of the piston facing the crankshaft is designed as a lubricated guide part sliding in the cylinder.
Such compressors, which are known for example from CH-PS 668 458, are used to compress very different gases, such as nitrogen, hydrocarbons or ammonia. In the case of such compressors, normal mechanical engineering materials have been used for the piston and for the cylinder. A relatively large clearance, for example ≧ 0.1 mm for a cylinder diameter of 200 mm, was provided between the guide part and the surrounding cylinder wall on the one hand and the gas sealing part and the surrounding cylinder wall on the other to take into account the different thermal expansions during operation. In addition, when using relatively large clearances, it cannot be ruled out that contact between the gas sealing part and the surrounding cylinder wall takes place. The compressor may then have to be opened for inspection and / or repair purposes, special precautions must be taken to prevent such gas from escaping into the atmosphere when gases that are hazardous to the environment, such as ammonia, are compressed. Furthermore, the efficiency of the compressor is relatively low when using a relatively large clearance between the gas sealing part and the surrounding cylinder wall.
The invention is therefore based on the object of improving a compressor of the type mentioned with regard to the piston guidance behavior.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the gas sealing part and the guide part of the piston consist of a material whose coefficient of thermal expansion α is essentially zero, and in that a space through which a coolant flows is provided in the wall of the cylinder and which covers the range of movement of the piston surrounds. This configuration ensures that both the difference between the outside diameter of the guide part and the inside diameter of the surrounding cylinder wall and the difference between the outside diameter of the gas sealing part and the inside diameter of the surrounding cylinder wall are subject to only slight, temperature-related changes. This allows the differences mentioned or the respective play between the piston part in question and the surrounding cylinder wall to be measured very small, for example <0.05 mm for a 200 mm cylinder diameter. Despite the now very small radial play, the risk is eliminated that the gas sealing part rubs against the surrounding cylinder wall, particularly when the compressor starts up. Inspections and / or repairs resulting from this are therefore also eliminated, so that the compressor is less has to be opened more often than before. Because of the closer play, the efficiency of the compressor is greater than before and higher compression pressures can be achieved than before.
Es zeigen:Two embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail in the following description with reference to the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1 und 2 je einen Längsschnitt durch Kolbenkompressoren nach der Erfindung.1 and 2 each show a longitudinal section through piston compressors according to the invention.
Mit 20 ist der Kompressionsraum zwischen dem Kolben 5 und dem Zylinderkopf 8 bezeichnet.1, the plunger compressor has a crankcase 1, which is only partially shown and in which a crankshaft (not shown in detail) is mounted in a manner known per se. A connecting
The one-
In the double-walled
The
Der Kolbenboden 23 kann abenfalls aus diesem Werkstoff bestehen.2, a piston 5 'is used in which the guide piston 11' and the working piston 12 'have approximately the same diameter. The working piston 12 'consists in this embodiment of several parts, namely a
The existing in the double-walled cylinder housing 6 coolant-flowed
In a departure from the examples described, the cylinder axis can also be vertical instead of horizontal, or a V-arrangement of the cylinders can be considered in multi-cylinder machines. It is also possible that the gas sealing part has a larger diameter than the guide part.
