Durch das einzige Verbindungsrohr oder mehrere gleich lange Verbindungsrohre besteht die Gefahr ausgeprägter Eigenfrequenzen, die zu unangenehmen Geräuschen und einem höheren Schallpegel führen. Das Reinluftrohr führt aus der Reinluftkammer unmittelbar zum Auslaß und hat nur Schlitze in der Zwischenkammer und der Primärdämpferkammer, wogegen ein kürzeres Rohr kleineren Durchmessers von der Reinluftkammer nur in die Sekundärdämpferkammer reicht, die keine Austrittsöffnung besitzt.
