Zum Verschließen einer Verpackungshülle wird der zu einem Zopf geraffte Abschnitt des Beutels oder Schlau¬ ches (z.B. eines gefüllten Wurstdarmes) in die Klammer einge¬ führt, die ihrerseits in einer dem Klammerboden entsprechend geformten Matrize gehalten ist. Darauf werden die Schenkel der Klammer mit Hilfe eines gegen die Matrize bewegten Verschlie߬ stempels vom Klammerstrang abgeschnitten, um den Verpackungs¬ zopf herumgebogen und so der Zopf durch die Klammer ver¬ schlossen. Die Schenkelenden werden dabei gegen die Außen¬ seiten der Schenkel gedrückt. Beim Abtrennen der einzelnen Klammern vom bandförmigen Strang entstehen an der Trennstelle im Bereich des Verbindungssteges Schneidgrate. Diese können nach dem Verschließen und Andrücken der Schenkelenden an die Schenkelaußenseiten insbesondere dann seitlich über die Bandbreite der Klammer hinausragen, wenn die Bandbreite der gesamten Klammer einschließlich des Verbin¬ dungsstegs annähernd konstant ist, wie dies bei früher einge¬ setzten Verschlußklammern der Fall war (DE-PS 10 78 495, DE-OS 26 06 658 und DE-OS 3148 757). Dadurch besteht die Gefahr, daß die verschlossene Verpackung, etwa die Hülle einer Wurst, verletzt wird. Außerdem besteht die Gefahr, daß bei der Wei¬ terverarbeitung, z.B. beim Kochen, andere Verpackungen ver¬ letzt werden. Schließlich kann in den Fällen, in denen die verschlossene Wurst in eine evakuierte ZweitVerpackung ein¬ geschweißt ist, diese durch den Trenngrat verletzt werden, was den Anwender häufig dazu veranlaßt hat, die Verschlußklammer der verschlossenen Wurst vor dem Verpacken in die Zweitver¬ packung abzuschneiden. Eine Anregung, in der erfindungs¬ gemäßen Weise nur die Enden einer durch Abtrennen von einem Strang vereinzelten Klammer zu führen und dadurch die vor¬ stehend dargelegten vorteilhaften Wirkungen zu erzielen, konnte dem nicht entnommen werden. Zwar weist auch die Verschlußklammer nach der DE-OS 17 61 616 bereits eine hohle Wölbung an der Oberseite des Verbindungsstegs auf. Diese hohle Wölbung ist aber länger als der Abstand zwischen den einander zugewandten Grenzen der U-förmigen Einprägungen. Deshalb entsteht zwischen der U-förmigen Einprägung und dem Auslauf der Wölbung eine geringere Banddicke als im Bereich der Mitte der Wölbung, also an der späteren Trennstelle. Dadurch besteht die Gefahr, daß beim Auf- und Abwickeln des Klammerstrangs zu einer Rolle ein willkürliches Abknicken zwischen den einzelnen Verschlußklammern an jener Stelle geringster Banddicke, also bei der U-förmigen Einprägung eintritt. Es ist aber wünschens¬ wert, daß sich der Klammerstrang beim Aufwickeln in der Mitte des Verbindungsstegs biegt, damit beim Abwickeln ein Klammer¬ strang ohne Knickstelle in den U-förmigen Einprägungen vor¬ liegt. Mit solchen Knickstellen in den U-förmigen Einprägungen besteht die Gefahr, daß die beim Vorschub in die Matrize ein¬ gelegte Klammer verkantet ist und kein einwandfreier Verschluß herbeigeführt werden kann. In der Praxis sind, wenn es um das Verschließen von Würsten geht, bei dem das Ende einer Wurst und der Anfang der nächsten Wurst gleichzeitig verschlossen werden, zwei Ver¬ schließvorrichtungen der dargestellten Art hintereinander, also in der Zeichenebene nebeneinander angeordnet, so daß sich links neben dem in Fig. 5 dargestellten Verschließstempel 9 ein weiterer, spiegelbildlich ausgebildeter Verschließstempel (mit der zugehörigen Matrize) befindet. Zwischen beiden Stem¬ peln ist ein gewisser Zwischenraum, durch den ein Trennmesser hindurchbewegt werden kann. Nach dem Abtrennen einer Verschlußklammer 30 vom Klammer¬ strang - und vor deren Verschließen - hat die Verschlußklammer 30 eine nach oben offene U-Form mit divergierenden Schenkeln 4, an die sich in die Horizontale abgewinkelte Schenkelenden 6 anschließen. Diese werden beim Verschließvorgang von der Nut 10 erfaßt und in dieser seitlich geführt. Beim weiteren Hub des Verschließstempels 9 biegen sich die Schenkel 4 um den Verpackungszopf 5, wobei sich die Schenkelenden 6 fest auf die Außenseite der Schenkel 4 anlegen, wodurch sich schließlich die in den Fig. 4 und 6 dargestellte Form ergibt. Die Zeichnung läßt erkennen, daß die Schenkelenden 6 (von geringerer Breite) als Teile des ehemaligen Verbindungsstegs 2 mittig gegen die Außenfläche der Schenkel 4 gedrückt worden sind. U-förmige Verschlußklammer aus Bandmaterial für Beutel und Schläuche, bestehend aus einem Klammerboden und zwei Schenkeln, deren Enden nach außen abgebogen sind, mit den Schenkelenden benachbarter Klammern einen trennbaren Verbindungssteg bilden und eine beidseitig verringerte Bandbreite haben, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sich die Verringerung der Band¬ breite auch über jeweils einen an die Enden (6) anschließenden Abschnitt (3) der Schenkel (4) erstreckt und im Bereich der verringerten Bandbreite die Seitenflächen (6a, 3a) der Enden (6) und Abschnitte (3) der Schenkel (4) annähernd parallel verlaufen.1. Vorrichtung zum Verschließen von Beuteln und Schläuchen mittels U-förmiger Verschlußklammern aus Bandmaterial, mit einem Verschließstempel und einer Matrize, gegen die der Verschließstempel derart beweglich ist, daß er die Schenkel einer auf der Matrize abgestützten Klammer gegeneinander biegt und zum Klammerboden hin preßt, wobei der Verschließstempel in seiner Wirkfläche eine sich in Umfangsrichtung der Klammer erstreckende Nut aufweist, die während des Verschließens form¬ schlüssig mit der Verschlußklammer zusammenwirkt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Nut (10) im Verschließstempel (9) eine der Breite der Verschlußklammer (30) entsprechende Breite und eine Tiefe aufweist, die geringer ist als die dem Verschließvorgang insgesamt ausgesetzte Schenkeldicke (4,6).7.
