Abstract

PCT No. PCT/CH90/00293 Sec. 371 Date Sep. 11, 1991 Sec. 102(e) Date Sep. 11, 1991 PCT Filed Dec. 27, 1990 PCT Pub. No. WO91/10485 PCT Pub. Date Jul. 25, 1991.A ski binding support (2) comprises a securing piece (8) which is fixedly connected to the ski (1) and serves for securing one end of a support plate (7) with the ski binding mounted thereon, and a guiding piece (9) which is also fixedly connected to the ski and wherein the other end of the support plate (7) is guided in a longitudinally freely movable manner. The support plate (7) is formed of a cover plate (17) having two narrowed, offset tongues (21, 22) which extend into the securing piece (8) and into the guiding piece (9), respectively. A base plate (18) disposed below support plate (7) rests upon the upper surface of the ski. The support plate with a ski binding mounted thereon, is easily and quickly detachable and attachable to the ski while conserving the bending capacity thereof in that there is free longitudinal guidance at one end of support plate (17). A rubber shock absorber interposed between support plate (7) and base plate (18) results in a substantial reduction of shocks imparted to a ski boot attached to the binding.

Description

The present invention relates to a ski binding carrier according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a ski binding carrier is known from FR-A-2 215 251 and relates there primarily to maintaining the flexibility of the ski with respect to the rigid binding plate by the rear end the plate is held firmly and its front end is guided longitudinally. The ski binding is intended to be permanently mounted on the ski in the workshop.

The same permanent assembly of the binding also applies to the ski binding according to US-A-3 797 844, with movable bearing journals being attached between the binding carrier plate and the ski in order to maintain the flexibility of the ski during bending.

Due to the spread of skiing on the one hand and the increasing prosperity and above all the improvement and refinement of the technique on the other hand, the circle of people who own more than one pair of skis is increasing to use the most suitable ski depending on the conditions. The ski stations also have a significant number of shops that rent skis, and the same customer wants to take the opportunity to test different skis. All of this leads to an increasing need to reduce costs, with ski binding being a not inconsiderable factor.

According to CH-A-637 299 an attempt was made to take this into account by detachably attaching a carrier plate to which a ski binding can be fastened to fastening parts on the ski. The carrier plate is held on three mouth-like grooves and contains a spring, which in particular serves to attach the plate to the ski in a positive and non-positive manner. However, according to the publications mentioned at the beginning, this is not desirable.

Starting from this it is a first object of the present invention to provide a ski binding carrier which is not only easily exchangeable in order to be mounted on different skis, but which also allows the flexibility of the skis to be fully retained. This object is achieved with the ski binding carrier defined in claim 1. In a preferred embodiment, the object is achieved to dampen the blows on the ski boots and thus on the skier. The solution is that the carrier plate has a rubber-elastic damping element. Damping elements between the ski and the ski boot are known from a number of patents, including EP-B-104185, but this damping element is firmly and completely glued to the ski between a non-exchangeable ski binding.

  • Fig. 2 zeigt den erfindungsgemässen Skibindungsträger von oben,
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a drawing of exemplary embodiments.
  • 1 schematically shows a side view of a ski binding carrier according to the invention with a mounted ski binding,
  • 2 shows the ski binding carrier according to the invention from above,
  • 3 shows the ski binding carrier according to FIG. 2 in a section,
  • 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 2,
  • Fig. 5 shows a section along the line VV in Fig. 2 and
  • 6 shows a variant of the ski binding carrier according to the invention for a touring binding.

In Fig. 1 erkennt man den Ski 1, den erfindungsgemässen Skibindungsträger 2 sowie den Fussspitzenteil 3, den Fersenteil 4 und den Stopper 5 der Bindung 6, die genau gleich auf die Trägerplatte montiert wird wie auf den Ski.1 shows the ski 1, the ski binding carrier 2 according to the invention and the toe part 3, the heel part 4 and the stopper 5 of the binding 6, which is mounted on the carrier plate in exactly the same way as on the ski.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the fastening part 8 is located at the front, i.e. at the toe part, and the guide part at the back. However, since in contrast to the aforementioned binding with the heel part flexibly connected to the front part, it is a carrier plate, it is equally possible to arrange the fastening part at the back of the heel and the guide part at the front, since this is only a relative displacement between the carrier plate and the ski.

The fastening part 8, s. also Fig. 4, has a U-shaped mounting rail 10 which is fixedly connected to the ski by means of four screws 11. The legs of the U-shaped fastening rail have angled ends 12 which run parallel to the ski surface. In the middle of the fastening rail there is a pin 13. A cover 14, for example made of plastic or aluminum, is pushed over this fastening rail, the longitudinal sides 15 of which engage behind the bent ends 12 and which can be fastened in the fastening rail by means of a locking screw 16. A snapper can also be used instead of a screw.

The carrier plate 7 is in the present embodiment from a cover plate 17 and from a base plate 18, between which a rubber-elastic damping element 19 is arranged. As can be seen in particular from FIGS. 2 and 3, the cover plate 17 consists of a central part 20 and two cranked, narrower tongues 21 at the front and 22 at the rear. The front tongue 21 has an opening 23 corresponding to the pin 13, the pin or the corresponding opening not necessarily having to be cylindrical. 2 and 3 show that the rubber-elastic damping element 19 is designed in the form of a frame. The base plate 18 is preferably made of a well sliding plastic, for example known under the trade name Teflon, in order to facilitate sliding of the carrier plate on the ski surface.

The rear tongue 22 is, see. 5, arranged longitudinally displaceably in the rear guide 9, which is firmly connected to the ski by means of four screws 24. The side walls of the rear guide part 9 each have a guide channel 25 for receiving the rear tongue, this guide part 9 being made of a suitable plastic.

Aluminum, for example, is suitable as the material for the cover plate 17, but also plastic. When using plastic as the cover plate, it is advantageous to provide longitudinal ribs in order to increase the torsional rigidity. The strength is increased by the use of glass or carbon fiber reinforced plastic.

In order to attach the carrier plate with the mounted ski binding to the ski, it is sufficient to insert the plate with its rear tongue 22 into the guide part and the opening 23 on the front tongue via the pin 13 to lower. Then the plastic cover 14 is pushed onto the fastening rail and secured by means of the locking screw 16. Overall, this enables the carrier plate with the ski binding to be attached to the ski very easily and quickly. Depending on the intended use, e.g. private skis or skis that are rented, the locking screw can be turned using a coin or screwdriver or, if easy removal is not desired, an Allen screw or similar special screw can be used instead of a drawn screw, which can only be done using a special tool can be rotated. In the example shown, it is possible to remove the carrier plate or, for example, only one carrier plate of a ski and to carry it with it in order to make the stealing of the skis unattractive.

The use of the binding carrier according to the invention not only enables the binding to be easily exchanged for other skis provided with the fastening means, as a result of which the considerable costs for binding to other skis are eliminated, but also a considerable increase in riding comfort on the one hand due to the freely longitudinally displaceable end of the binding , which maintains the original flexibility of the ski and by using a rubber-elastic damping element to dampen impacts on the ski boots and thus on the skier. In addition, this system enables the ski binding to be removed for transport, which is particularly important when transporting with a ski carrier on a passenger car, because the bindings are very susceptible to dirt, which is particularly common when driving if the skis are not protected by a ski bag. Quite apart from that, dismantling the binding increases the aerodynamics of the Skis on the ski rack. Furthermore, the use of the ski binding carrier according to the invention makes it possible to adjust the binding without skis, which makes it much easier, in particular if the skis, or rather their binding, are not transported by a passenger car.

The list of the advantages described above can be expanded considerably if the embodiment variant according to FIG. 6 is added. This variant is a ski binding rack for touring skis, which must be able to lift the foot. Ski bindings for touring skis are known in which the ski binding can be adjusted either in a touring position or in a downhill position by means of complicated mechanisms. In the present exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 6, this is achieved by the recorded ski binding carrier 26. The fastening part 8, which in this case can only be arranged at the front, and the rear guide part 9 are identical to those of the exemplary embodiment described above. In contrast, the carrier plate differs from the carrier plate 7 of the first embodiment. The carrier plate 27 consists of a central part 28 which opens into an angle piece 29 at the rear and has the same bent tongue 30 at the front as in the previous example, but is provided with a joint 31 at the first bend. Here, too, the base plate 32 consists of a low-friction plastic, and a rubber-elastic damping element 34 is also arranged between this base plate and the cover plate 33. A locking tab 35 is slidably fastened under the rear part of the cover plate 33, the tab being designed at least in its foremost part like the rear tongue 22 of the first exemplary embodiment. The tab 35 is drawn here rather schematically, by means of a locking screw 36, which slides in a slot 37 in the cover plate, held on the cover plate, the tab also being guided in a corresponding opening 38 in the angle piece 29. A washer 39 is arranged between the tab 35 and the underside of the cover plate. In the position shown in FIG. 6, the ski binding carrier is mounted in the touring position, ie the carrier plate 27 can be pivoted about the joint 31, which makes it possible to run with the skis. For the descent, the tab is pushed into the guide part 9 and the screw 36 is tightened, whereby the binding carrier, respectively. the binding, fulfills the same function as in the first example for normal descent. By using this removable touring binding, the possible uses of the ski binding carrier according to the invention are significantly increased.
