Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP90/00811 Sec. 371 Date Mar. 18, 1991 Sec. 102(e) Date Mar. 18, 1991 PCT Filed May 18, 1990 PCT Pub. No. WO90/14464 PCT Pub. Date Nov. 29, 1990.Grinding equipment for a Jordan refiner for grinding paper pulp having a rotating part in form of a truncated cone and a stationary part in the form of a hollow truncated cone, on which bar-shaped knives are arranged at predetermined angles with respect to the conical shell generating lines. To improve the grinding equipment of the refiner, a pre-grinding zone is arranged upstream of one or more fine grinding zones whose configuration and arrangement are adapted to the state and desired development of the fibers in the grinding stock flowing through the grinding equipment.

Description

The invention relates to a grinding set of a cone refiner for grinding paper materials
  • with a rotating part designed as a truncated cone, on the outer lateral surface of which web-shaped knives are applied at predetermined angles to the conical surface lines, and
  • with a stationary part designed as a hollow truncated cone, on the inner lateral surface of which web-shaped knives are introduced at predetermined angles to the conical surface lines.

In known designs of such cone refiner sets, the knives are in the rotating as well as in the stationary part over the entire grinding surface, i.e. from entry to exit, made of the same material and - at least approximately - with the same arrangement.

From US-A-27 76 800 a disc refiner with an additional suction chamber and air wings has become known, in which several grinding zones are provided, but the knives in the pre-grinding zone have no angles to the radii and the knives in the further zones successively no angles have to the radii and are arranged at different positive and negative angles to the radii.

There, in the inlet pre-grinding zone, bar-shaped knives are welded or cast on, in the stationary part parallel to the cone surface lines or at an angle to them, and in the rotating part with a kink both at an angle to the cone surface lines and parallel to them. The knives are attached in the main grinding zone, in the stationary part herringbone-like with the resulting longitudinal axes of the knives approximately parallel to the cone surface lines, and incised in the rotating part parallel to the cone surface lines.

The paper stock is conveyed into the refiner set in the form of a fiber suspension of, for example, 5 percent by weight of fibers dissolved in 95 percent by weight of water and processed between the knife edges and knife surfaces. In the entry area into the set, the knives must be robust and arranged with relatively large gaps. Only with such an open inlet is the risk of the blockage clogged with certainty.

The wide distances between the knives have the consequence, however, that the secondary cut edge length of the set reaches low values, which undesirably limits the grinding effect that can be achieved. In the previous versions of the conical fittings, the parameters required for this inlet zone largely determined the design of the entire remaining grinding surface.

The invention has for its object to provide a grinding set of the type described above, in particular with regard to the refiner dimensioning, which is largely independent of the inlet parameters.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by
  • that a pre-grinding zone is followed by one or more fine grinding zones, the design and arrangement of which are adapted to the respective fiber condition and the respective desired fiber development of the ground material flowing through the grinding set,
  • that the web-shaped knives run in a straight line in the respective zones,
  • and that, at least in the stationary part, the mean knife angles to the cone surface lines in the pre-grinding zone are at least about 10 ° and in the fine grinding zone at least about 20 °.

This means that the transmission of the grinding energy to the fibers can be precisely controlled by means of a practically unlimited possibility to vary the configurations.

The fine grinding zones differ significantly from the pre-grinding zone, both with regard to the geometry - width of the knives, width and depth of the channels between the knives,
  • as well as with regard to the knife materials used.

The considerably finer knife structure in the fine grinding zones compared to the pre-grinding zone leads on the one hand to a relatively gentle treatment of the material to be ground in the fine grinding zone and on the other hand to a high secondary cutting edge length, as a result of which the grinding performance is considerably higher.

The stationary part advantageously has an inner conical ring-shaped pre-grinding zone and one or more downstream fine grinding zones, in which the design and arrangement of the web-shaped knives in the pre-grinding zone and the web-shaped knives or corresponding edge-shaped structures in the fine grinding zones differ significantly from one another.

The design and arrangement of the bar-shaped knives largely depends on the material to be ground. The proportion of area of the web-shaped knives of the stationary part in the pre-grinding zone is advantageously at most 25 to 30% and in the fine grinding zone approximately 50%, the depth of the channels between the web-shaped knives in the pre-grinding zone expediently being substantially greater than the depth of the channels between the web-shaped knives is in the fine grinding zone, for example in the pre-grinding zone about 20 mm and in the fine grinding zone is about 12 mm.

In the stationary part, the mean knife angle to the cone surface lines in the pre-grinding zone is advantageously approximately 12 ° and in the fine grinding zone approximately 30 °.

The stationary part is expedient as a cast part in the Pre-grinding zone welded or cast on steel knives and hard grinding segments used in the fine grinding zone. The pre-grinding zone is designed with relatively soft and cheap knives, while the fine grinding zone is designed with relatively hard, high-quality knives.

The rotating part advantageously has a continuous grinding zone.

Der Flächenanteil der stegförmigen Messer des rotierenden Teils in der Mahlzone beträgt zweckmäßig etwa 40%, die Tiefe der Kanäle zwischen den stegförmigen Messern des rotierenden Teils etwa 20 mm.The proportion of the area of the bar-shaped knives of the rotating part in the grinding zone is expediently about 40%, the depth of the channels between the bar-shaped knives of the rotating part is about 20 mm.

The average knife angle of the knives of the rotating part to the conical surface lines in the region of the pre-grinding zone of the stationary part is advantageously approximately 8 ° and in the region of the fine grinding zone of the stationary part approximately 10 °.

With the corresponding knife angles of the knives of the stationary part in the pre-grinding zone of the grinding set, this results in an average cutting angle between the knives of the stationary and the rotating part of approximately 20 ° and in the fine grinding zone of approximately 40 °. The smaller cutting angle causes more cutting, the larger cutting angle more rubbing of the ground material.

The rotating part is also expediently designed as a casting with welded-on steel knives.

A further development of the invention is that rotating part has an inner cone-shaped pre-grinding zone and one or more downstream fine grinding zones, in which the design and arrangement of the web-shaped knives in the pre-grinding zone and the web-shaped knives or corresponding edge-shaped structures in the fine grinding zones differ significantly from one another.

With such training, a further increase in grinding performance can be achieved.

The design and arrangement of the web-shaped knives of the rotating part in the pre-grinding zone suitably corresponds to that of a rotating part with a continuous grinding zone as described above.

The rotating part with pre-grinding zone and fine grinding zone is also advantageously designed as a casting with steel knives welded or cast on in the pre-grinding zone and hard grinding segments used in the fine grinding zone.

In general, the average angle between the knives of the stationary and rotating part is expediently approximately 20 ° in the pre-grinding zone and approximately 40 ° in the fine grinding zone.

Der Kegelöffnungswinkel beträgt vorzugsweise etwa 60°.The cone opening angle is preferably approximately 60 °.

The grinding set according to the invention of a cone refiner consists, as shown in the drawings, of a stationary part 1 designed as a hollow truncated cone and a driven rotating part 2 arranged therein, designed as a truncated cone.

The stationary part shown schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2 has an inner conical pre-grinding zone 3 and an outer conical fine grinding zone 4.

In the pre-grinding zone 3, web-shaped knives 5 arranged parallel to one another are provided in cone ring segments. The knives 5 are preferably steel knives and welded onto a casting 6. The area of the web-shaped knives in the pre-grinding zone 3 is at most 25 to 30%, so that 70 to 75% of the area remains for the open area between the knives 5. One knife 5 per cone ring segment is guided all the way in.

Der mittlere Messerwinkel der Messer 5 zu den Kegelmantellinien beträgt in der Vormahlzone 3 etwa 12°.The depth of the channels between the web-shaped knives 5 in the pre-grinding zone 3 is preferably approximately 20 mm. The mean knife angle of the knives 5 to the cone surface lines in the pre-grinding zone 3 is approximately 12 °.

Der Flächenanteil der Messer 7 in der Feinmahlzone 4 beträgt etwa 50%.The fine grinding zone 4 adjoining the pre-grinding zone 3 of the stationary part 1 likewise has web-shaped knives 7 arranged parallel to one another. These knives 7 are preferably formed on hard, high-quality grinding segments used in the fine grinding zone 4. The area proportion of the knives 7 in the fine grinding zone 4 is approximately 50%.

Der mittlere Messerwinkel der Messer 7 zu den Kegelmantellinien beträgt in der Feinmahlzone 4 etwa 30°.The depth of the channels between the web-shaped knives 7 of the fine grinding zone 4 is approximately 12 mm. The mean knife angle of the knives 7 to the cone surface lines in the fine grinding zone 4 is approximately 30 °.

The relatively small knife angle in the pre-grinding zone 3 means that here the material is cut up more and lumps are opened. The relatively larger knife angle in the fine grinding zone 4 leads to the fact that Regrind is grated more and treated more gently. The greatest pressing pressure when the rotating part 2 is inserted in the stationary part 1 occurs in the area of the relatively soft pre-grinding zone 3.

After the pre-grinding zone 3 and the fine grinding zone 4, one or more further fine grinding zones (not shown) with a further different design and arrangement of the corresponding web-shaped knives can additionally be provided.

Der rotierende Teil 2 weist eine einzige durchgehende Mahlzone 8 auf.3 and 4, a first embodiment of the rotating part 2 of the grinding set according to the invention is shown schematically. The rotating part 2 has a single continuous grinding zone 8.

In the grinding zone 8, web-shaped knives 9 arranged parallel to one another are provided on cone ring segments. These knives 9 are preferably designed as steel knives welded onto a cast part 10. The area of the bar-shaped knives 9 in the grinding zone 8 of the rotating part 2 is approximately 40%, so that an open area of approximately 60% remains.

The depth of the channels between the web-shaped knives 9 of the rotating part 2 is preferably approximately 20 mm. The average knife angle of the knives 9 of the rotating part 2 to the conical surface lines is approximately 8 ° in the area of the pre-grinding zone 3 of the stationary part and approximately 10 ° in the area of the fine grinding zone 4 of the stationary part. The reason that the mean knife angle in the range the fine grinding zone 4 of the stationary part 1 is somewhat larger, that several additional small knives 9 are provided on the outside.

With this design of the grinding zone 8 of the rotating part 2, an average angle between the knives 5 of the stationary part 1 in the pre-grinding zone 3 and the knives 9 of the rotating part 2 is approximately 20 °, while the average angle between the knives 7 of the stationary part Part 1 in the fine grinding zone 4 and the knives 9 of the rotating part 2 is approximately 40 °.

Another embodiment of the rotating part 2 of a grinding set according to the invention is shown schematically in FIGS. 5 and 6. Here, the frustoconical rotating part 2 has an inner cone-shaped pre-grinding zone 11 and an outer cone-shaped fine grinding zone 12, in which the design and arrangement of web-shaped knives 13 in the pre-grinding zone 11 and web-shaped knives 14 in the fine grinding zone 12 differ from one another. The knives 13 of the pre-grinding zone 11 of the rotating part 2 are again arranged parallel to one another in conical ring segments. The knives 13 of the pre-grinding zone 11 of the rotating part 2 are preferably designed as steel knives welded onto a cast part 15.

The design and arrangement of the bar-shaped knives 13 in the pre-grinding zone 11 of the rotating part 2 corresponds to the design and arrangement of the bar-shaped knives 9 in the single grinding zone 8 of the rotating part 2 as described in connection with FIGS. 3 and 4.

The web-shaped knives 14 of the fine grinding zone 12 of the rotating part 2 are here also preferably formed on hard grinding segments used in the fine grinding zone 12 of the rotating part 2.

Der Kegelöffnungswinkel von stationärem Teil 1 und rotierendem Teil 2 beträgt etwa 60°.The cone opening angle of the stationary part 1 and rotating part 2 is approximately 60 °.
