Abstract

Doctor blade device for applying or for spreading or smoothing suitable free-flowing or powdered substances on flat surfaces (15), webs or the like, in connection with or without the use of templates (16), preferably in connection with magnetically generated pressure of a doctor blade. A doctor blade or a profiled rod (9) which supports or, if necessary, touches or loosely surrounds the doctor blade, are adjusted parallel to the plane of the application surface or of the template (16) or the like by an auxiliary device incorporated in the doctor blade device (12). The profiled rod consists essentially of at least one, at least approximately centrally arranged pivot joint or rotary disk joint or possibly spherical joint (5) or, in the case of very long devices, it consists, if necessary, of two or more rotary disk joints or the like arranged symmetrically or approximately symmetrically along the length of the doctor blade element (12, 121). The doctor blade element or the profiled rod (9) which supports, touches or surrounds the doctor blade is connected to the doctor blade device by said joints and is secured so as to rotate and slide with the doctor blade device.

Description

The subject of this invention is a doctor device or doctor element for applying or for spreading or spreading flowable or powdery substances onto flat surfaces, webs or the like. in connection with or without the use of stencils, preferably in connection with magnetically effected squeegee pressure.
The squeegee device presented here is equipped with a squeegee element, or the like, consisting of a roller, a profile bar, a profile strip, an elastically deformable squeegee blade. can exist. It can also be a squeegee application element (squeegee).

The length of the doctor device or doctor element usually extends transversely to the direction of movement or running of the web or the like. and, depending on their width, can be less than one or even several meters.

Schablone. There are several prerequisites for the smooth functioning of such a doctor device. One of these prerequisites - and one of particular importance - is the plane-parallel contact of the doctor element or, in particular, of the contact area against the surface or template to be applied or scraped off.

Dies erfordert genaue Paralleleinstellung der Rakelgerätehalterungen. Je größer die Bahnbreite bzw. Auftragungsbreite bzw. This requires precise parallel adjustment of the squeegee holders. The larger the web width or application width or length of the doctor device is, the more difficult it is to set the squeegee device or the squeegee element parallel to the application surface or the stencil, because with increasing working width or device length, its physical deflection and also the constant handling stress during installation, removal and cleaning Danger of bending increases.

This is well known in the art of making and using doctor blades. Many efforts have already been made and a great deal of inventive work has been done in order to be able to master this difficulty, which has so far only been achieved to an approximate extent.

One of the most remarkable squeegee devices or squeegee elements is the roller squeegee, which is made of steel or another magnetizable material and is pressed on by magnetic force; this is mainly because this doctor element does not require any mechanical mounting, fastening or clamping, but only loosely placed or inserted and then magnetically pressed and held or rolled in the magnetic field.

However, if such a doctor blade element is used with another element - such as e.g. with a profiled strip - connected and used in order to achieve certain application results that cannot be achieved with the roller doctor element alone, this again creates the same problem that was already described in the introduction.

This problem also arises with all other previously known magnetically pressed doctor devices or doctor elements, e.g. Doctor squeegees of all kinds that require mechanical mounting or fastening, since they cannot take up and hold their working position independently or without fastening, like a simple roller squeegee.

To differentiate the subject matter of the invention from the known prior art CH-PS 464 967 (Peter Zimmer) is used as the closest. This describes a doctor blade device which can be pressed by means of magnetic force, which is characterized in that the doctor blade holder or its carrier is freely movable transversely to the work surface. Although this construction avoids the risk of unequal height adjustment of the squeegee device by means of otherwise usual, height-fixed holders arranged on both sides at the squeegee ends or at the ends of the squeegee holder, the risk of bending of the squeegee device is not eliminated thereby. On the contrary: with devices that are designed in this way, the risk of bending, even due to the manufacturing process, is very high.

Compared to other devices that work magnetically, squeegee-pressed, this device has a disadvantage that impairs its function: the squeegee contact pressure is already so great due to the weight of the squeegee device that the magnetic contact pressure can only be used as a reinforcing force and that the setting or Applying only a small doctor pressure is therefore not possible.

Devices of this type have therefore not found their way into practice. Such doctor blades are still made of a support, spar, tube or the like which is constructed as rigidly as possible. exist and which are mounted at the ends, on both sides of the application surface or web or the like, fixed in height or attached to the machine frame, the most common in practice.

The second type, which is widespread in practice, is the magnetically pressed roll doctor devices described above, or, more correctly, roll doctor elements. Roller doctor elements because the magnetically pressed doctor blades are usually only loosely inserted or laid on and held magnetically.

The object of the invention presented herewith is to provide a doctor blade device which is mounted in a height-fixed manner or fixed to the machine frame in accordance with the conventional art with the ends of the doctor blade carrier construction, the doctor blade spar, the doctor blade tube or the like. that, however, with regard to its working function, the doctor element attached to this doctor device carrier is advantageously - compared to the previously known prior art - constructed in such a way that the bending stiffness of the tool carrier construction cannot be transferred to the doctor element, and the doctor element, acting on its own, by the The stiffness of the squeegee is unimpeded, parallel to the working edge or contact surface of the squeegee element or, if applicable, including a squeegee holding strip, which is uniform over the entire application width or squeegee length.

The object of this invention is essentially characterized by an auxiliary device integrated in the doctor device constructed according to the invention for the plane-parallel adjustment of the doctor element or a profile bar holding the doctor element or possibly only touching or loosely encompassing the application surface or the template or the like essentially from at least one, at least approximately centrally arranged rotary joint or rotary slide joint or possibly spherical joint, or, if the device is very long, at most two or more, or the like, arranged symmetrically or approximately symmetrically over the length of the doctor element. exists, through which or by which the doctor element or the doctor element carrying, possibly only touching, extensive, etc. profile strip is connected to the doctor device against this rotatably or displaceably mounted.

The subject matter of the invention is illustrated in a few exemplary embodiments and described below, of course without being limited to these exemplary embodiments and without being restricted to their description.

After all, these four exemplary embodiments already make it clear that the subject matter of the invention offers versatile applicability and a number of design options for different types of application or for different types and shapes of doctor elements.

The construction examples shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 each show a complete cross section through a doctor device 1 constructed according to the invention.

The reference number 2 designates a preferably rigidly shaped doctor blade crossmember, support beam, support tube or the like. If tubular, this support bar or the like. can also be used for substance delivery, which is indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2.

This carrying beam, designated 2, is - which is not shown in the drawing, but is easily conceivable - attached to its two ends at most vertically. This support beam 2 can also be thought of as being position-changeable in any other spatial direction, depending on the requirements, but usually no change in position during a respective operating state. Changes in location only take place for the purpose of handling, installation and removal or cleaning and replacement with other doctor blades, or changes in location to be handled in accordance with the settings are made only for the purpose of setting or changing the setting of application parameters. The spatial arrangement of the doctor device can be done as desired.

Squeegee devices constructed in accordance with the invention are therefore not conceivably arranged in a free-standing manner, but, in addition to being in contact with the work surface, application surface, stencil, magnetic bar, magnetic roller or the like, need a positional fixation of the support beam, cross member or the like. 2, wherein it is possible in an advantageous, additionally characteristic embodiment according to the invention, or the like from changes in the position of the cross member. 2 Derive changes in the application parameters by causing changes in the angular position of the doctor element or of the profile bar touching, surrounding or holding the doctor element.

The length of the U-shaped support profile part 3 is shorter than the cross member support beam 2, may correspond to the application width in order to increase the transverse rigidity of the cross member 2, but may also be shorter as desired, for example only as a fork piece, or may be also two or more pieces, divided, arranged and fastened in the area of the working width.

In the part labeled 3 or in at least one such part 3 there is - preferably in the middle of the application area - at least one rotary or rotary slide joint or the like labeled 5. used, whose axis is designated 6. 7 denotes the part which is suspended in the part 5 or fastened to it with a rotary or, if necessary, a rotating and sliding seat connection or, as a result, also with the parts 3, 4 and 2 rotating or rotating and sliding seat movable against it, connected or held on.
The part 7 can either be a profile strip or a relatively narrow, preferably centrally arranged swivel arm, or it can be two or more parts which are divided over the working width and have the same cross-section with respect to FIGS. 1 and 2 and are arranged distributed over the working width; a continuous profile strip is also conceivable, the length of which corresponds approximately to the working width, whereby - analogous to part 5 of the description - it is in turn possible to fasten this profile strip 7 only once in the central region, for example, to a rotary joint 5, for example, or to two rotary slide joints, for example, which are arranged approximately in the area of the two outer thirds or quarters of the profile strip length 7. It is also conceivable to combine a centrally arranged, for example swivel joint 5, with two swivel and sliding joints arranged in the end region.

A simple example of a rotary and sliding joint connection of the type described above is shown in FIG. It can be seen here that the part 7 is provided with a bore which is widened as a longitudinal slot instead of having a bore which fits centrally on the swivel joint 5, as a result of which the part 7 in FIG. 3 acquires an additional relative mobility, indicated by an arrow, relative to the part 3.
According to a further embodiment of the inventive concept, this embodiment is also suitable for the function of the pivoting or sliding mobility of the profile strip or of the parts or of the part 7 in relation to the doctor device 1.

On the rotary or Kpp or swiveling or sliding on the Part - or at most on the parts - 3 fastened profile strip or the above-described holding part or parts (7) is a leg of a hinge joint 8 - it can also be several hinge joints of shorter overall length - fastened.
On the second leg of this hinge joint or these hinge joints, a profile bar forming or holding the doctor element or touching or possibly encompassing doctor element, profile bar is fastened, the length of which is preferably equal to the working width. 4 shows a variant of this, in which the hinge joint 8 is not, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, shaped as a swivel hinge but as a flexible joint or flexible joint strip.

In Fig.4 ist dargestellt, daß die vorbeschriebenen Teile 7, 8 und 9 auch als einteilig gestaltete Profilleiste herstellbar sind - dies vorzugsweise aus Gummi oder aus einem hochpolymeren Werkstoff - wobei den drei Teilbereichen dieser Multifunktionsprofilleiste, die den vorstehend beschriebenen, einzelnen Teilen 7, 8 und 9 zugeordneten Teilfunktionen zukommen.4 shows that the above-described parts 7, 8 and 9 can also be produced as a one-piece profile strip - preferably made of rubber or a high-polymer material - the three partial areas of this multifunctional profile strip, which correspond to the individual parts 7, 8 and 9 assigned sub-functions.

In FIG. 1, a bar 10, made of one or more parts and made of magnetizable material, is fastened to the bar element holding bar 9, by means of which the bar element 120 is magnetically pressed.

In FIG. 2, the magnetisable profile strip 10 is embedded in the profile strip 9 — one part or more parts — and has a smaller cross section than in FIG. 1. This is because, in FIG. 2, a doctor blade element 121 made of a magnetizable round profile is used, so that in this FIG. 2 variant of a doctoring device according to the invention the magnetizable profile 10 does not have to press on the doctor element 121, but only that doctor blade element surrounding squeegee profile strip 9, counteracting any substance back pressure, has to hold against the squeegee element 121.

In Figure 2 is in addition to the above-described magnetizable slide-in profile 10 - which can also be permanently magnetized at most - a further magnetizable, but preferably permanently magnetically designed insertion strip 11 is shown.

This magnetizable or permanently magnetic insertion bar 11 - it can also be insertion parts of the same cross-section, as shown - can be used to reinforce the magnetic contact pressure of the doctor element profile strip 9 and also around the doctor blade element 121 when the doctoring device is out of operation and off the track - or work surface or stencil is lifted off, hold on to the surrounding or contact surfaces of the squeegee element profile strip 9 closest to the magnetizable parts 11 or at most 10 and / or 11. As a result, this embodiment shown in FIG. 2 of a squeegee device which is two-part for its function (operating state) is converted into a squeegee device which is one-piece for the idle state or for handling purposes.

3 shows the subject matter of the invention in connection with a slot doctor element, consisting of two doctor element profile strips 122 and 123, which are connected to one another by plug connections. In this embodiment variant, the use of the hinge or flexible joint 8 which extends the subject matter of the invention was dispensed with, ie no such joint is required for this embodiment.
The device parts 3 and 7 connecting sliding joint or rotary and sliding joint parts 5 according to the invention are, depending on the working width or length of such a device, either arranged only once in the middle or twice in the end regions or three to five times in the case of very large working widths or overall lengths arranged the total length distributed to think.
Regarding FIG. 4, it should also be said that the magnetizable profile strip 10, which is made in one or more parts, is inserted loosely and accordingly also interchangeably into the doctor element profile strip 9.

For a general understanding of all the figures, it should also be said that 13 in FIG. 1 is a fastening clamping strip for the squeegee strip 12, the arrow 14 the direction of movement, 15 a conveyor belt with a web lying thereon, 16 in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 a circular template and 17 and 18 in Fig. 1 to 3 called a so-called magnetic bar.

In FIG. 4, 19 denotes a magnetic roller and 20 denotes the web to be coated by the doctor device according to the invention.

The arrows labeled 21 in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 denote the preferred position-changeable direction for the device setting. In the direction of this arrow, the change in the position of the squeegee device according to the invention in its preferably rigid with 2 and 3 or possibly also 7 device parts, which are brought about by the end fastenings for the squeegee device spar 2, which are not shown in this direction and can be moved, is considered to be an important one that extends the main idea of the invention Functional advantage, a quantity control of the application performance caused by the change in the angular position of the doctor element profile strip or the substance accumulation area located between it and the application surface or template as a function of this change in location. This change in the angular position, which is important for the control of the application quantity output, is represented by the arrow 22 in FIG. Of course, the same, as previously explained, also applies to the embodiment variants in FIGS. 1 and 4, but not for FIG. 3.

A further, particularly advantageous embodiment, or a functional advantage that extends the main idea of the invention, can be achieved by the fact that it has now become possible for the first time due to the rotary or sliding joint connection integrated into a doctor device constructed according to the invention in accordance with the main idea of the invention Manufacture squeegee device, the cross member or support beam can be constructed rigidly - and thus exposed to the inevitable dangers of bending and bending - without exposing the squeegee element to these bending or bending risks with the disadvantageous consequences arising for the application process.

These consequences are the dangers of application irregularities, which are well known in doctor blade technology and are inherent in almost all doctor blade designs, in particular in the case of larger working widths.

The present invention makes it possible to manufacture any, i.e., cross-sectionally shaped doctor blades suitable for the respective application requirement, regardless of the other doctor blade construction parts, either in a manner that is inherently rigid due to inherent inherent strength, or to a desirable extent with flexible or slackness.

The use of doctor blades manufactured according to the invention enables high-quality application processes in larger working widths and with greater economy than before.
