Abstract

The invention relates to a device for comminuting commercial or industrial waste, in particular for comminuting paper, wood, plastic and the like, having a receptacle which has a material filling space and a material discharge area with discharge opening for the material for comminuting and having a comminuting mechanism which is arranged in the receptacle and comprises a comminuting tool which can be made to rotate by means of a drive motor. In order to provide, in particular with a reduced outlay in terms of production and construction, a comminuting device with which the material for comminuting can be effectively comminuted to a predetermined degree, the comminuting mechanism comprises at least two essentially coaxially arranged comminuting tools 1, 3, one of which can be made to rotate by means of the drive motor and the other of which is, in contrast, stationary or arranged so as to rotate at a lower speed of rotation during a comminuting process. Furthermore, one of the comminuting tools has classifying shaped recesses 7 open towards the other comminuting tool. In contrast, the other comminuting tool has pocket recesses 5, 6 which can be connected at least to the classifying shape recesses 7, one pocket recess 5 being associated with the material filling space and the other pocket recess 6 being associated with the material discharge area. <IMAGE>
