Description

The present invention relates to a monobloc tank intended for the retention of decomposing liquids of a corpse, produced in a single piece by molding of a rigid plastic material, comprising side walls and a bottom plate alternately having ribs and cavities.

Many inconveniences during the transfer of a corpse, exhumations or new burials have been noted by the persons responsible for these operations in cemeteries. This is due to the fact that decomposition liquids seep through the interstices of the coffin and do not quickly eliminate by decomposition especially in certain types of terrain.

In the case of burial in a sealed vault or fire, the problem is even more difficult.

It has already been proposed to reduce these drawbacks by placing a container for receiving decomposition liquids under the coffin.

The existing tubs currently do not solve all the hygiene problems posed by the handling of the coffins because there are risks of overflowing of liquids, risks increased by the fact that the rigidity of the current tubs is almost nonexistent.

French patent 2,485,368 relates to a device allowing the collection, absorption and treatment of the decomposition effluents of the bodies after their burial. The lower part of the device described in this document consists of a rigid platform of absorbent and flammable material which is coated on its external faces with a waterproofing product and on which is attached a honeycomb block provided with drains on its periphery and forming a container with said platform. The cells are lined with a mat of material with a high absorption capacity. The honeycomb block must be supported by the platform which is preferably made of wood agglomerate. The platform is therefore putrescible and it is not obvious that it can play its role of coffin support during the possible exhumation of the body without risk of demolition of the platform resulting in the overturning of the honeycomb block.

This type of monobloc bin is naturally an integral part of the coffin. It is not intended that it can be used independently to receive a coffin and to avoid the flow of decomposition liquids into the vaults, nor that it can serve as a tray for handling a coffin during the burial or exhumation of a coffin, because it does not contain means for retaining retention liquids in the event that the assembly is inadvertently tilted during handling, and it does not include handles or other means gripping.

Cet ensemble de plaques percées de trous, déposé uniquement dans le fond du cercueil, ne peut servir pour manipuler le cercueil.FR-A-2 252 081 also relates to a coffin which comprises two plates, preferably corrugated, pierced with holes and arranged parallel to the bottom of the coffin. These two plates determine between them a chamber containing absorbent products such as cellulose wadding. This set of plates pierced with holes, placed only in the bottom of the coffin, cannot be used to handle the coffin.

The object of the present invention is to provide a container which overcomes the drawbacks mentioned above, and which allows the personnel responsible for handling to work in satisfactory hygienic conditions.

The object is achieved according to the invention by the fact that the monobloc tank intended for the retention of decomposition liquids of a corpse, produced in a single piece by molding of a rigid plastic material, comprising side walls and a plate bottom with alternating ribs and cavities is characterized in that the cavities contain a product with high absorbency, in that the ribs and the cavities are covered by a grid, in that the volume of the cavities is sufficient to receive the all decomposition liquids of a corpse and in that it comprises gripping means.

The role of the longitudinal cavities is to collect the decomposition liquids and, in addition, the ribs separating two adjacent longitudinal cavities or grooves have the role of reinforcing the rigidity of the tank. The product contained in the cavities absorbs the decomposition liquids which flow through the grid and which immobilize on contact with the absorbent product.

The product and absorbed liquid assembly is retained in the cavities by the grid. It is thus possible, during an exhumation, to use this bin as a tray carrying the coffin. It is thus possible to transport the coffin without touching it and without risk of spilling liquids.

Preferably, the tank and the grid are made of high density polyethylene or ABS resin, which allows, after use or exhumation of a body, to incinerate the tank without there being any release of acid gases or toxic.

According to a variant of the invention, the container is shaped so that it can be inserted into the bottom of a coffin.

The product with high absorbency is preferably composed of a mixture of hydrophilic plant fibers containing bactericides.

Advantageously, handling handles are formed in the side walls of the tank.

Preferably, the container has on its lower face at least two transverse grooves for the passage of carrying straps.

As can clearly be seen in the drawing, the tank 1, intended for the retention of decomposing liquids from a corpse, has a parallelepiped shape and has a bottom plate 3, extended by four side walls 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d extending upwards and slightly obliquely outwards.

The bottom plate 3 is shaped so as to present alternately ribs 5 and longitudinal cavities 6 which extend over practically the entire length of the tank 1, and to present on its periphery in the vicinity of the side walls 4a, 4b , 4c, 4d a horizontal edge 7 located in the same plane as the upper face of the longitudinal ribs 5 and laterally surmounted by the walls 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d of low height.

The adjacent longitudinal side walls 9a, 9b of two neighboring cavities 6 are connected by an upper horizontal wall 10, extending over the entire length of the tank 1, and joining the horizontal rim 7 of the bottom plate 3.

The rim 7 and the horizontal walls 10 are located in the same plane and define the upper face of the plate. bottom 3. The bottom walls 8 of the cavities 6 are arranged in the same plane, parallel to the upper face, and define the lower face of the tank 1.

Au-dessus des faces supérieures 10 des nervures 5 et du rebord 7, est disposée une grille 11 reposant sur le rebord 7 et lesdites faces horizontales 10, et maintenue sur lesdites faces supérieures du bac 1 par exemple par collage et s'encastre dans le bac 1 entre les parois latérales 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d de celui-ci.Above the upper faces 10 of the ribs 5 and of the rim 7, is disposed a grid 11 resting on the rim 7 and the said horizontal faces 10, and held on the said upper faces of the tank 1 for example by gluing and fitting into the tray 1 between the side walls 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d thereof.

The cavities 6 are filled with a product with high absorbency intended in a way to solidify or immobilize the decomposition liquids. The grid 11 is constituted by a trellis having small orifices allowing the decomposition liquids to flow towards the cavities 6, and preventing the absorbent product or the whole absorbent product and absorbed decomposition liquids from escaping from the cavities 6, as a result of the inclination given to the tank during handling.

The tank 1 and the grid 11 are preferably produced by molding a rigid plastic material which does not produce acidic or toxic gases during the incineration of the tank 1, such as ABS resin or high density polyethylene.

The cavities 6 occupy most of the tank 1, and their volume is calculated to be able to contain all the liquids resulting from the decomposition of a corpse. Preferably, all the cavities are interconnected by channels or drains not shown in the drawing so as to avoid the accumulation of liquid in a single part of the tank.

For example, the length of a cavity 6 is 2 m, its width 9 cm and its depth 4 cm, which gives for the five cavities and for the upper part of the tank a total volume of 58 liters. .

The primary role of the cavities 6 is to collect the decomposition liquids from the corpse. In addition, the longitudinal side walls 9a and 9b of the cavities 6 which at the same time form part of the ribs 5 ensure the longitudinal rigidity of the tank 1.

The dimensions of tray 1 shown in Figures 1 to 3 are such that a coffin can be placed on the grid 1, between the side walls 4a, 4b, 4c, and 4d. The rigid tray 1 can thus play the role of a support plate for the coffin when handling the latter.

To facilitate the handling of the coffin resting on the tray 1, openings 12 are made in the side walls 4a and 4b of the tray 1 at a certain distance from the ends of the tray. The walls 4a and 4b are reinforced around said openings so as to form handling handles. Carrying straps can be passed through these openings to facilitate the descent or ascent of a coffin in a pit.

The tray 1 also has on its underside, a plurality of protrusions 13 and at least two transverse grooves 14a and 14b. The protrusions 13 serve as support feet for the tank 1. The grooves 14a and 14b are intended for the passage of carrying straps. Preferably, as can be seen in FIG. 6, the protrusions 13 are arranged on either side of the grooves 14a and 14b, so as to increase the depth of these grooves in order to facilitate the passage of the carrying straps and the prevent from leaving the grooves when lowering or raising the coffin carried by the tank 1.

Figure 7 shows a tray 1 carrying a coffin 15. The walls 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d forming the upper periphery of the tray 1 are shaped so that a cover 16 in the form of a hat or bell can cover the coffin 15 during the incineration of it. Preferably the cover 16 is made of high density polyethylene.

Figures 4 and 5 show a second embodiment of a tray 1 intended to be placed in the bottom of a coffin 15 before being put into beer. The tray 1, according to this embodiment, has a structure similar to that of the embodiment already described, and differs from it only by its longitudinal and transverse dimensioning and its shape which are obviously adapted to the geometry of the coffin for which it is destined.
