Abstract

A bag-filling device is provided with clamping devices retaining the initially flat bags in the region of the side edges of their opening rims, and with suckers engaging on opposite sides in the region of the opening rims and pulling these sides apart, and with a filling nozzle. In order to prevent the powdery material from adhering to the bag walls in the region of the engagement of the suckers, a transverse strip (22) of elastomeric material is in each case provided at least beneath the sucker(s) (21, 21') on each side on the sucker supports (17, 17'), which strip presses the pulled-apart edge regions of the bags (14) tightly against the side walls of the filling funnel.

Description

The invention relates to a device for filling sacks with the initially flat sacks in the region of the side edges of their opening edges, with clamping devices which engage on opposite sides in the region of the opening edges and pull them up and with a filler neck.

With such devices, for example known from EP-A-82 955, US-A-38 30 266 and GB-A-691 916, it was observed that on the inside of the bag walls made of thermoplastic material in the areas in which the outside attack the suction cups, dust-like contents stick. This is due to the fact that during the opening of the sack walls the suction cups perform relative to these movements, so that in the area of attack the suction cups are generated on the sack walls from thermoplastic material, which then attract dust-like filling goods. Since the sealing seams are usually made later in the areas where the suction cups have previously opened the bags to retract the filler neck, the adhering dusty filling material can impair the quality of the sealing seams or lead to leaky welds.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device of the type specified at the outset in which the adherence of dust-like filling material to the sack walls in the region of the attack of the suction devices is avoided.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in a device of the generic type in that at least underneath the suction device or the eggs on each side of the suction device carriers there is a transverse strip made of elastomeric material, which presses the opened edge regions of the bags sealingly against the side walls of the filling funnel . In the device according to the invention, the suction cup carriers are thus assigned a double function, namely that of carrying and moving the suction cups and, on the other hand, that of the carrier for transverse sealing strips. The suction cups provided with the sealing strips are controlled and moved by their drives after the sack edges have been opened by the suction cups in such a way that the sealing strips are pressed against the walls of the filler neck after it has been retracted. The sealing strips thus protect the inner walls in the area on which the suction cups have attacked or have been attacked from rising dust-like filling material, so that this cannot accumulate on the areas of the bag walls which are electrostatically charged by the elevator process.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the sealing strips are wider than the suction cups and the suction cups are arranged in a recess in the strips. In this embodiment, the sealing strip completely surrounds the suction cups, so that the areas of the bag wall, on which the suction cups have or have attacked, can be pressed against the walls of the filling funnel and thus also protected against the entry of dusty filling material ascending are when the sealing strips with the remaining parts of the hopper should not completely seal the filling opening of the sack.

According to an inventive further development, filling funnels of the type known, for example, from EP-OS 82 955, with filling funnel halves which can be pivoted in opposite directions about axes parallel to one another and transversely to the line connecting the clamping devices, of which each filling funnel half has a U-shaped cross-section and which through which U-legs formed and parallel to their swivel plane side walls overlap each other in their swung-out position, provided according to the invention that the strips in the area of the edges of the overlapping side walls of the filling funnel halves are provided with steps such that the drawn-up edge regions of the bags through the strips close to the overlapping side walls of the hopper halves can be pressed. Basically, in the device known from EP-A-0 82 955, the filling funnel can be connected closely to the opening edge of the sacks to be filled due to the pivoting-out filling funnel halves. However, a gap can still form between the overlapping edge regions of the side walls of the filling funnel halves, emerge through the dust-like filling material and can accumulate on the areas of the bag wall which are statically charged by the suction movements. If the sealing strips do not have sufficient elasticity and resilience to bridge the steps formed by the overlapping edge regions of the side walls of the filling funnel halves, a better sealing is achieved by the sealing strips provided with the steps.

In this embodiment, too, the suction cups are arranged on the carrier provided with the sealing strips above the sealing strips, or they are in recesses in the sealing strips embedded. An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. In this shows

The filler neck 1 in Figure 1 is provided with a hopper 2, which consists of two mutually movable hopper halves 3, 4. These can be stored and designed in the manner known from EP-OS 82 955.

The structure of the suction device itself is shown in Figure 2. From this figure it is clear that the tube 5 is welded to a flange 15, which flange has a bore corresponding to the outer diameter of the tube 5. This flange 15 closes a recess 16 which is provided in a steel plate 17. The bottom of this recess 16 penetrate two through bores 18 which are inserted into pipe sockets 19 which protrude from the plate 17 on the side opposite the pipe 5. On the outstanding ends of the pipe socket 19 support rings 20 are placed, each carrying a plate-shaped suction rubber 21. On the plate 17, a rubber strip 22 corresponding to the plate 17 is glued in its outer dimensions, which has an oval cutout 23, so that the two suction rubbers 21 from the rubber strip are completely surrounded. Since the two filling funnel halves 3 and 4 laterally overlap in the open position, a shoulder 24 is formed. So that no good can escape in this area, the rubber strip 22 has a step 25 corresponding to this paragraph 24, so that the bag 14 through the rubber strip 22 density can be pressed.

The right side of the suction device shown in Figure 2 differs from the left only in that instead of two suction rubbers only a single plate-shaped suction rubber 21 'is used. Instead of a recess 15, the plate 17 'has a bore 26 into which the tube 6 is inserted. Of course, the cutout 23 'is circular according to the use of only one suction rubber 21'.
