Definitions
- the invention relates to a hand-operated cutting device for paper-like clippings piled up to form a stack, namely a stack cutter of the type previously known from DE-C-25 09.
- the invention has for its object to simplify such a stack cutter structurally and to design so that the clipper automatically, so without additional handwork outside of its hold-up position lying on the paper stack always protrudes downwards beyond the knife edge and thereby the knife edge against contact with the hand shields an operator.
- This object is achieved by the characterizing feature of claim 1.
- the actual cutting process takes place as a pulling cut as in the stack cutter known from DE-C-2509. It is, however, ensured according to the invention that the knife edge is covered by the clippings retainer in each height position until the clippings hold-down is placed on the clippings stack in that it protrudes downward beyond the knife edge. The same is the case after the cutting process has been completed when the knife is lifted, and automatically without the need for additional handles.
- the holding down of the stack of clippings, the cutting process and above all the covering of the excavated knife edge by the down over the knife edge standing cutters are automatically effected by manual operation of the stack cutter, for example by a single lever operation. Due to the design simplifications, the stack cutter can be designed as a table device.
- the angle of inclination of the longitudinal groove or grooves is expediently approximately 45 ° .
- the teaching of claim 3 is based on the knowledge that the knife consists of a high-quality, hardened and ground steel and therefore does not tolerate large-volume training with appropriate inherent strength. Rather, the knife is designed as a relatively narrow and low, ruler-like knife blade.
- the arrangement of a guide bar running parallel to the knife is provided, on which the manual actuation drive also engages. The arrangement of a separate guide bar also facilitates the precise adjustment of the knife by a knife setting bar according to claim 4.
- the features of claim 5 are provided.
- the cutting material hold-down is expediently brought about by lifting the knife in the manner of claim 6.
- the stack cutter essentially consists of a support table 1, a knife that can be lowered relative to the support table by a manual actuation drive, generally designated 2 and thereby produce a pulling cut, longitudinally displaceable knife length 4 that runs approximately parallel to the table surface, as well as a knife holder that flanks the knife 4 and can also be lowered 5 to Action on a stack of clippings, not shown, between itself and the surface of the support table 1.
- the knife 4 with the knife edge 6 running parallel to the surface of the support table 1 is slidably mounted in two mutually parallel longitudinal grooves 7 of the clipper holder 5.
- the longitudinal axes 8 of the longitudinal grooves 7 run in the lowering plane of the clippings retainer 5 and form an acute angle of inclination 9 with the plane of the support table 1 or with the longitudinal direction 3 of the knife edge 6 or with the hold-down bar 37 of the clippings retainer 5.
- the bearing of the knife 4 in the longitudinal grooves 7 are carried out by two bearing bolts 10 which are firmly connected to the knife 4 (FIGS. 5, 6).
- the angle of inclination 9 of the longitudinal grooves 7 in the cut-down device 5 is 45 ° , the angle apex 11 pointing in the longitudinal direction 3 of the cut.
- the clippings retainer 5 is acted upon by the permanent pressure of two springs 12 acting on it at its two ends and supported on the table frame in a direction 13 perpendicular to the plane of the support table 1 on the stack of clippings, not shown.
- the manual actuation drive 2 is a toggle lever drive, the lower end of the hand lever 14 of which is rotatably mounted between two holding brackets 15, 16 connected to the support table 1.
- the storage takes place around the bearing pin 17 bridging the space between the holding lugs 15, 16.
- the lower end 18 of the hand lever 14 forms together with the pressure link 19 the two legs of the toggle lever.
- the knee joint between these two links has the reference number 20.
- the end 21 of the pressure link 19 opposite the knee joint 20 is articulated on a guide bar 22.
- the linkage is made with a Guide bar 22 firmly connected, namely screwed transmission tab 23, which extends from the area above the guide bar 22 into the area below it.
- the guide bar 22 extends over at least the entire length of the knife 4 and acts on the entire back of the knife from above. It serves for the uniform transmission of the cutting pressure applied by the hand lever 14 to the knife 4.
- the guide bar 22 is displaceably mounted at its one end facing the hand lever 14 between the holding cheeks 15, 16 with respect to the support table 1. At its other end, the storage between the two retaining tabs 24, 25, which are also firmly connected to the support table 1.
- the holding tabs 15, 16 and 24, 25 together with the support table 1 form the table frame.
- a knife adjustment bar 42 is inserted between the knife back 26 and the guide bar 22 to facilitate the adjustment of the interaction between the guide bar 22 and the knife back 26.
- the guide bar 22 is guided in the holding tabs 15, 16; 24, 25 in the longitudinal grooves 27 made in the holding tabs 15, 16; 24, 25, the longitudinal axes of which run parallel to the longitudinal axes 8 of the longitudinal grooves 7 in the cut-down device 5, i.e. in one Stand at an angle of 45 o to the table surface.
- a further connecting tab 28 is fastened to the guide bar 22, which projects with its lower end like the transmission tab 23 beyond the guide bar 22.
- the transmission tab 23 and the connecting tab 28 are each provided with a horizontal guide groove 29, 30. With this guide groove they enclose the two bearing bolts 10, which are firmly connected to the knife 4 laterally out of its plane.
- the guide grooves 29, 30 of the transmission strap 23 and the connecting strap 28 are not used to transmit the cutting pressure to the knife, but only to raise it after the cutting operation has been completed by pivoting the hand lever 14 back.
- the longitudinal or pressure direction of the pressure link 19 of the actuating drive acting on the guide bar 22 forms an acute angle 31 (FIG. 1) with the plane of the support table 1, the size of which on average over the entire cutting process is approximately the inclination angle 9 of the longitudinal grooves 27, 7 in the table frame or in the cut-down device 5 and whose level lies approximately in the cutting or knife level.
- the cutting process is carried out on a (not shown) paper stack as follows:
- the paper stack is placed on the support table 1 under the cut-down device 5. Alignment of the stack can be facilitated by the alignment bar 32, which is fixed in a longitudinally displaceable and fixable manner on the longitudinal guide 33 of the support table.
- the hand lever 14 is pivoted clockwise (arrow 34).
- the pressure link 19 is pressed in the direction of arrow 35.
- This pushing movement is transmitted via the transmission plate 23 on the guide bar 22, which thereby with its end fixed guide pin 36 within the longitudinal grooves 27 of the table frame, that the retaining tabs 15,16; 24,25 in a at an angle of 45 o to the surface of the support table 1 towards the stack of paper.
- the cut-down device 5 is initially with its hold-down bar 37 with a constant distance beyond the cutting edge 6 of the knife 4 downwards (FIG. 6) and thereby maintains the contact protection even during the infeed movement of the knife 4.
- This maintenance of the cover of the knife edge 6 by the hold-down bar 37 is effected by the springs 12, which ensure during the feed movement that the cut-down device 5 is always pressed with the upper end 38 of its longitudinal grooves 7 against the bearing pin 10 of the knife 4, thereby up assumes its lowest possible position relative to the knife 4 for placement on the paper stack and thereby maintains the lateral covering of the knife edge 6 (FIG.
- a relative movement between the knife 4 with its bearing bolts 10 begins within the longitudinal grooves 7 of the clippings retainer 5 in the direction of their longitudinal axes 8 to the surface of the support table 1.
- the knife 4 is namely pressed perpendicularly to the level of the support table by cutting pressure acting on the back of the knife 26 from the guide bar 22. This pressure is transferred via the bearing bolts 10 to the lower longitudinal boundary surfaces of the longitudinal grooves 7 of the cut-down device 5.
- the inclined position of the longitudinal grooves 7 initially results in the further cutting pressure Crop holding down device 5 with the vertical pressure component 39 (FIG.
- the special effect of the oblique guidance of the knife 4 within the obliquely downward longitudinal grooves 7 of the clippings retainer 5 is that with increasing cutting pressure during the cutting process the clippings retainer 5 also with increasing pressure derived from the hand lever 14 in the same way against the surface of the paper stack is pressed and thus ensures its immovable support on the surface of the support table 1.
- the cutting through the knife edge 6 takes place without a counter cutting edge. After the cutting process has been carried out in a completely lowered cutting position, the knife edge 6 strikes a plastic strip 41 (FIG. 4.5) which is embedded in the surface of the support table 1 and acts like a buffer and prevents the knife edge 6 from becoming dull.
- the hand lever 14 is pivoted backward in the direction of the arrow 34 and thus counterclockwise.
- the pressure link 19 pulls the guide bar 22 up again within its oblique longitudinal grooves 27 in the table frame.
- the transmission plate 23 and the connecting plate 28 take the knife 4 upwards via their guide grooves 29, 30 and via the bearing bolts 10.
- the bearing bolts slide 10 within the oblique longitudinal grooves 7 of the clippings retainer 5 up to their stop at their upper ends 38 (Fig.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a hand-operated cutting device for paper-like clippings piled up to form a stack, namely a stack cutter of the type previously known from DE-C-25 09.
The invention has for its object to simplify such a stack cutter structurally and to design so that the clipper automatically, so without additional handwork outside of its hold-up position lying on the paper stack always protrudes downwards beyond the knife edge and thereby the knife edge against contact with the hand shields an operator. This object is achieved by the characterizing feature of claim 1.
The actual cutting process takes place as a pulling cut as in the stack cutter known from DE-C-2509. The holding down of the stack of clippings, the cutting process and above all the covering of the excavated knife edge by the down over the knife edge standing cutters are automatically effected by manual operation of the stack cutter, for example by a single lever operation. Due to the design simplifications, the stack cutter can be designed as a table device.
Längsnuten zweckmäßig etwa 45o.In order to longitudinally lower the knife edge when lowering the knife by approximately the same amount as in the longitudinal direction of the knife edge for the pulling cut, the angle of inclination of the longitudinal groove or grooves is expediently approximately 45 ° .
The teaching of

The stack cutter essentially consists of a support table 1, a knife that can be lowered relative to the support table by a manual actuation drive, generally designated 2 and thereby produce a pulling cut, longitudinally
The
The
Messerebene liegt. The longitudinal or pressure direction of the
The cutting process is carried out on a (not shown) paper stack as follows: The paper stack is placed on the support table 1 under the cut-down
Bewegungskomponente 40 in Schneidenlängsrichtung 3. After placing the
After the cutting process, the
