Abstract

The container walls are designed to be double-walled with an external wall (1) and an internal wall (2). Between these two walls, a cavity (8) is created, which is open at the bottom. In the yoke or edge (9), which closes off this cavity at the top, ventilation slots (10) are provided. The internal walls (2, 4) have slots (15) or other perforations, by means of which the internal space of the container is well ventilated from the cavity (8) or also through the perforated floor (5) of the container. Rib-shaped feet (12) not only afford the container good ground clearance, but also guarantee a safe mutual stacking of the containers. On the upper edge (9) of the container, cams (11) are provided alternately with the slots (10), which fit into the slots (10). The containers can thus also be stacked on top of one another edge on edge and at the same time serve as lower part and cover of a closed container of larger volume. The feet (12a, 12b) are staggered in such a manner that the containers can also be stacked in a non-displaceable manner bottom on bottom. The container thus offers not only good aeration and good protection for delicate and perishable goods but is also very versatile. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a transport and storage container made of plastic for any goods. Such transport containers are known, in particular bottle crates or the like, which are provided for a very specific content and whose interior is also designed accordingly, for example has partition walls for forming compartments for receiving individual bottles. These known transport and storage boxes are therefore not suitable for holding any goods, in particular perishable goods such as vegetables, fruits and other foods. In particular, the known containers are not suitable for being stacked in any manner and, moreover, are preferably aerated to the extent that perishable goods could be transported or stored therein for a long time.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a container which is particularly versatile and can therefore accommodate any goods, which can be stacked as desired, and preferably also ensures optimal ventilation of the contents when stacked. It should also be aesthetically pleasing, easy to label and easy to clean. The primary goal is achieved according to the characterizing part of claim 1. The container can be stacked as desired, either floor to edge as usual or edge to edge or floor to floor. This makes it possible to optimally pack and transport goods of various sizes. The containers are preferably also provided with double-walled sides. This creates a cavity between the actual filling space of the container and the outer wall thereof, from which the content is good through the perforated inner walls is ventilated. Since these cavities are open at the bottom and provided with ventilation openings at the top, the cavities of the containers lying one above the other are connected to one another in stacked transport containers, so that good ventilation of entire stacks is also ensured. The outer sides of the outer walls can be printed or labeled as desired, and the largely smooth outer surface can be easily cleaned. However, individual openings can also be provided in the outer walls in order to make the ventilation even more intensive. Likewise, of course, the bottom of the container can be perforated to ensure ventilation, particularly when stacked, or it can be closed to better protect the contents.

The container shown has double-walled forehead ten or narrow sides, each consisting of an outer wall 1 and an inner wall 2, and long sides each with an outer wall 3 and an inner wall 4. The inner walls 2 and 4 are connected to a base 5 which has a perforation with slots 6. Stiffening ribs 7 are provided between the inner walls and the outer walls. The annular cavity 8 enclosed between the inner walls 2, 4 and the outer walls 1, 3 is open at the bottom. The inner and outer walls are connected at the top by a circumferential yoke 9, which forms a circumferential, relatively wide edge. This edge has ventilation slots 10 on the long sides. A ventilation slot 10 and an elongate cam or a rib 11 projecting upwards are provided on the narrow sides or end faces. The ventilation slots 10 and cams 11 on the narrow sides of the box are dimensioned such that the cams can penetrate into the ventilation slots 10 with relatively little play. Furthermore, the ventilation slots 10 and cams 11 are arranged on the two narrow sides in such a complementary manner that two containers can be stacked on one another with their upper edges 9 so that they cannot be displaced, with one cam of one container penetrating into one ventilation slot of the other container on each narrow side. It is thus possible to stack two containers edge to edge and thus create a container with a lid-like upper part. This option is of interest for the transport and storage of larger piece goods, the dimensions of which exceed the depth of a container.

Die Nocken 13 greifen dabei in die Lücken 14 ein.L-shaped ribs or feet 12a and 12b are provided on the bottom 5 of the container in all four corners. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 6, two opposing ribs 12 are offset somewhat inwards and have cams 13 in both legs. The other two ribs 12a, which are not offset inwards, have Lük ken 14, in which the cams 13 can enter. If containers are stacked on top of one another in the usual way with the edge 8, then the outer or non-inwardly offset ribs 12b and the cams 13 engage in the lower container with little play and center the upper container on the same (FIGS. 5 and 6 ). However, it is also possible to stack two containers bottom on floor, in which case the inwardly displaced ribs 12b engage in the outer ribs 12a in the manner indicated in FIG. 6 and thus center the two containers stacked on the floor so that they cannot move. The cams 13 engage in the gaps 14.

The inner walls 2 and 4 are provided with vertical ventilation slots 15, so that the interior of the container can be intensively ventilated from the cavity 8.

Handle openings 16 are provided in the inner and outer walls on the end faces or narrow sides, and a carrying handle is formed above each of these handle openings by a row of lamellar ribs 17 with a rounded lower edge 18 lying between the outer wall 1 and the inner wall 2. This type of handle is not only cheap for the manufacture of the container or the design of the shape, but the handle is ergonomically designed particularly cheap.

At the bottom of the container, further longitudinal support ribs or feet 19 can be provided, which are laterally offset in the two container halves with respect to the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the container, so that they do not hinder stacking of the containers on the floor.

From the above description, the essential properties and versatile uses of the transport and storage container are already apparent. The good ventilation of the interior of the container makes it particularly suitable for any, especially perishable goods. Thanks to its arbitrary stackability floor to edge, edge to edge or finally floor to floor, a very versatile use is guaranteed. If two containers are stacked edge to edge as the lower and upper part of a closed container, the volume of the interior can be doubled. The double wall construction results in high stability. The container can be gripped and transported using various mechanical devices, for example by means of vacuum suction devices, clamping devices or on the carrying handles, the ventilation slots or hooks or grippers attacking the floor. To improve ventilation, the outer walls can also be partially provided with transverse slots 21. A full, non-perforated floor can also be provided for certain purposes. As indicated in FIGS. 3 and 4, somewhat recessed surfaces 20 can be provided on the sides, which can be printed or provided with labels and in which the print or the labels are protected against abrasion. Nevertheless, the labels can be removed by machine. The cams 11 can either be closed - as shown - or continuously open to further improve the ventilation.
