Description

The present invention relates to improvements made to the covers of color boxes of the type described in FR-A-2 600 975.

It will be recalled that the main patent relates to a cover provided with a pourer for boxes of basic colors on stirring machines, comprising:
  • at least one fixing element on a color box,
  • a pouring spout, the opening edge of this pouring spout being strictly planar,
  • an actuating lever articulated at its lower end on the upper wall of the cover, movable between a rest position and a pulled service position,
  • a zipper also flat capable of sliding on said wafer so as to close it with sealing, the latter being pulled to effect the payment by means of the actuating lever, characterized in that the actuating lever comprises on its front face and at a distance from the pouring spout, a stop element fixing said actuating lever in the rest position and pressing against a ventilation opening formed on the upper wall of the cover, the pull tab being secured to said actuating lever by a articulated lever, on the one hand, at the level of the upper median part of the pull tab and, on the other hand, to said actuation lever, at a distance from its articulation axis, spring means recalling said pull pull against the opening portion of the pouring spout and recalling said actuating lever to its rest position where the opening portion of the pouring spout is closed by the pull tab.

This arrangement already allows the actuating lever to close in the rest position the ventilation opening of the shade box which thus becomes perfectly isolated from the outside ambient environment and to open this orifice in the service position by simultaneously pulling the spout of the pouring spout thus allowing a regular flow of the paint during its pouring.

However, the ventilation opening being at the rear of the agitator axis relative to the spout and relatively close to the axis, we cannot avoid a strong tilting of a pot full of paint doing also pour the paint into the ventilation hole, which dirty the cover and reduce the regularity of the flow of the paint pouring.

The present application aims to remedy this drawback and proposes a cover of the type provided with a pourer for a box of basic shades on stirring machines, comprising:
  • at least one fixing element on a color box,
  • a pouring spout, the opening edge of this pouring spout being strictly planar,
  • an actuating lever articulated at its lower end on the upper wall of the cover, movable between a rest position and a pulled service position,
  • a zipper also flat capable of sliding on said wafer so as to close it with leaktightness, the latter being pulled to make the payment by means of the actuating lever, the actuating lever comprising on its front face and at a distance from the pouring spout a stop element fixing said actuating lever in the rest position and pressing tightly on a ventilation orifice formed on the upper wall of the cover, the pull tab being integral with said actuating lever by an articulated lever, d on the one hand, at the level of the upper middle part of the pull tab and, on the other hand, to said actuating lever, at a distance from its articulation axis, spring means recalling said pull pull in pressure against the opening edge the spout and recalling said actuation lever to its rest position where the opening edge of the spout is closed by the pull tab, characterized in that the ventilation orifice has on the internal face of the cover a channel which opens out at a level close to the edge of the cover, substantially diametrically opposite the spout.

This arrangement in fact makes it possible to move the air inlet away from the agitator axis or the pouring spout and therefore to avoid said flow of paint through the ventilation opening during a strong tilting of the paint bucket.

In an advantageous practical arrangement, the channel may comprise at its lower part a movable plate sealingly closing said lower part of the channel in the normal service position, and capable of being moved in the open position so as to release the channel and the vertical orifice. ventilation, for example for cleaning them.

Said channel may consist of two vertical and parallel longitudinal ribs extending radially from the vertical orifice or hole as far as substantially at the edge of the cover, these ribs being covered at their lower edge of said plate, which closes the channel except at its end. near the edge of the cover where the hole opens. The plate is fixed on one of the ribs by a simple screw, which allows the rotation of the plate and, for example, the complete release of the channel and the orifice when it is turned 90 ° from its service position .

The section of the plate can also be formed with internal flaring so as to facilitate its centering on the ribs and consolidate its maintenance in the service position on the latter.

According to other advantageous features of the invention, the zipper will be provided with two opposite lateral flanges or ears, arranged substantially horizontally and in which penetrate vertically each bent end of the two branches of the U-shaped rod connected to the actuation lever.

The zipper will thus have an essentially flat shape and will preferably be thin, for example, about 0.4 mm, made of steel with a lower coating non-stick to the paint.

The two bent ends of the rod will be used for the longitudinal guide of translation of the zipper by resting on the external vertical wall of the spout.

The folds of the ends of each of the branches of the rod will be suitably formed for example with essentially tangential transverse arrival of the branches on the ears and angle returned in the vertical plane towards the agitator axis to ensure, on the one hand, the support of the branches on the zipper or on said ears under the stress of the springs and, on the other hand, avoid the unhooking of the bent ends of the ears when the pull of the zipper.

This arrangement avoids the formation of a tilting torque on the pull tab when it is pulled, especially when dried paint opposes this pull on the underside of the pull tab, since the rod acts directly in the plane of the pull tab .

Furthermore, the transmission of the vertical elastic stress of the springs by the rod on the zipper gives the latter an excellent scraping power of the paint on the edges of the spout.

  • La figure 1 est une vue en coupe axiale partielle d'un couvercle selon l'invention;
  • La figure 2a est une vue de dessus du couvercle;
  • La figure 2b est une vue partielle de la figure 1 suivant la flèche F, montrant l'articulation des extrémités coudées de la tringle sur la tirette;

The invention is illustrated below with the aid of a non-limiting example of embodiment and with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a partial axial sectional view of a cover according to the invention;
  • Figure 2a is a top view of the cover;
  • Figure 2b is a partial view of Figure 1 along arrow F, showing the articulation of the bent ends of the rod on the pull tab;
  • Figure 3 is an enlarged view of Figure 1, in which the agitator axis, the actuating elements and the pull tab have been removed to show more clearly the ventilation opening;
  • Figure 4 is a view of a half-section along the line AA of Figure 3, showing in particular the channel of the ventilation opening with its lower plate;
  • Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 4 showing the wafer in the open position and
  • Figure 6 is an enlarged schematic view of the section of the channel of the ventilation opening.

As shown in Figures 1, 2a and 2b, the cover according to the invention comprises a pull tab 13 whose edges or lateral ears 29 of articulation to the rod 19 are essentially horizontal and arranged in the plane of the pull tab. The latter of low thickness (0.4 mm), made of steel with non-stick coating on its underside is therefore perfectly flat. The bent ends 27 of each of the opposite branches 23 of the rod 19 are received by said ears in two vertical planes. These ends 27 are bent horizontally with transverse arrival (relative to the axis of movement of the pull tab) and pressing on the pull tab, and in the vertical plane at an angle of 90 ° relative to the plane of the rod, consequently retracted towards the inside the cover.

In doing so, taking into account the small inclination of the branches of the rod relative to the plane of the pull rod, the vertical component of the force of the springs 31 in application on the rod is perfectly transmitted to the pull rod. This provides good scraping efficiency of the paint deposited on the edge of the cover. In addition, the fold angle in the vertical plane of the ends 27 of the arms of the rod being returned inward, there is no risk of these ends coming off relative to their ear during the pulling operation of the pull tab by the actuating lever 15. Furthermore, the ends 27 acting directly on the ears in the plane of the pull tab, there is practically no tilting torque on the latter when it is pulled by the actuating lever when dried paint opposes the movement of the latter.

In FIG. 3, the ventilation hole 39 of the cover is seen extended radially from its channel 50 for transferring the air hole to a level close to the edge of the cover. This channel located inside the cover consists of two vertical parallel ribs 51 (FIG. 6) secured to the internal face of the cover, and of a closure plate 52 fixed by a screw 53 on one of the ribs. The ribs extend radially opposite the pouring spout from the ventilation opening 39 to a level close to the edge of the cover (where the air hole opens out) and are sealed by the plate. at their lower edge (Figure 4). The channel is therefore closed from the vertical ventilation orifice to its radial outer end where the air hole opens. It is therefore clearly seen that the air inlet has been moved away from the pouring spout and that the risk of leaking paint through the ventilation opening is considerably reduced relative to the previous arrangement where the entry of air was done through the vertical ventilation hole only.

The plate 52 is movable in rotation (FIG. 5) around said screw 53 from its closed or service position (FIG. 4) to an open position 90 ° from the previous one where the vertical ventilation orifice and the channel are discovered. This open position of the plate allows the cleaning of the channel and the vertical ventilation opening of the cover from time to time.

Furthermore, the wafer is formed with internal flaring facilitating its closing or centering on the ribs and keeping it stably in this service position.

The present invention therefore provides an interesting development in relation to known pouring lids, in particular with regard to the risk of paint flowing through the ventilation opening.
