Description
The invention relates to a device for freeze-drying a product in a vacuum drying chamber, with a transport trolley with storage areas for the product, which form the boundary walls of an interior space formed in the transport trolley for receiving a heating fluid, and with a device provided for supply in the vacuum drying chamber from heat to the interior of the trolley.
In a known device of this type (DE-A-19 39 718) a trolley with a pivotable product receiving part is used, which has pockets formed by partitions, which can be filled with the product to be treated in the vertical position of the partitions, so that the product is deposited after a pivoting of the product receiving part by 90 ° on the now horizontal partition walls, which form the boundary walls of one or more interior spaces, which are formed in the product receiving part and which are to be heated, for example, by means of brine heating in order to supply the product with the required sublimation heat.
In connection with the previously known device, it is not explained how the brine is to be heated or how the heated brine is transported into the interior of the trolley.
It is an object of the invention to provide a device by means of which a simple supply of sublimation heat to the interior of the transport carriage located in the vacuum drying chamber is made possible.
To achieve this object, a device of the type mentioned at the outset is designed according to the invention in such a way that the transport carriage has a front and a rear vertical fluid channel which are arranged in the center and which are connected to the interior.
In the device according to the invention, the transport trolley is designed in such a way that it has "central" fluid channels which are connected to the interior, so that heating fluid present therein or heating fluid entering it can also be conveyed directly into the areas of the storage surfaces, to provide the required heat of sublimation there.
In one embodiment of the invention, the device consists of a heating surface, and the transport trolley has at least one boundary wall for the interior, which can be brought into heat-transferring contact with the heating surface. The heating surface is preferably located in the bottom area of the vacuum drying chamber.
In this device, the heating fluid present in the interior of the transport vehicle, for example a brine, is indirectly heated in the vacuum drying chamber, in the heat from a heating surface present in the vacuum drying chamber is transferred to a boundary wall of the interior and thereby to the brine, so that after the transport vehicle has simply been put into the vacuum drying chamber, no additional assembly steps or the like. are required to establish a heat transfer connection between the trolley and a heat source. Rather, it is even possible to move the transport trolley in contact with the stationary heating surface while at least temporarily maintaining this contact through the vacuum drying chamber, i.e. to insert the transport trolley into the vacuum drying chamber at one end and at the other end of the vacuum drying chamber to remove from this, which enables a continuous drying operation.
If the heating surface in the lower area of the trolley comes into contact with it, for example when the trolley is placed on the heating surface, it is ensured that the heating fluid rises due to the heating in the fluid channels of the trolley and circulates in the interior without additional pump energy, while the cooled heating fluid in the trolley goes down and thus sinks into the vicinity of the heating surface.
In another embodiment of the invention, the device can consist of at least one heat exchanger which connects the two fluid channels with its secondary circuit, the primary circuit of which can be electrically heated and an electrically operated fluid pump is provided in the secondary circuit.
If electrical energy is supplied to the primary circuit of the heat exchanger when the trolley is located in the vacuum drying chamber, for example via at least one contact located in the bottom region of the vacuum drying chamber element that serves to connect the primary circuit of the heat exchanger to a voltage source, the heating fluid present in the transport trolley can be heated by this supply of energy and conveyed upwards into one of the heating channels and thus through the interior of the transport trolley with the aid of the fluid pump, which is also to be electrically driven, while it sinks down again after heat has been given off in the other fluid channel and returns to the secondary circuit of the heat exchanger.
In order to also enable continuous drying operation in such a construction, there can be an engagement which enables a relative movement while maintaining the electrical connection between the contact element and the contact of the primary circuit of the heat exchanger.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the front fluid channel can have a front fluid connection and the rear fluid channel can have a rear fluid connection, and one of the fluid connections can be connectable to a fluid supply line when the transport trolley is located in the vacuum drying chamber, and the other fluid connection can be connected to a fluid discharge line, so that when carrying out a batch operation, there is a simple possibility of supplying the heating fluid to the interior of the transport vehicle from the outside.

The vacuum drying chamber shown in Figure 1 has a
As can be seen in Figure 1, in the bottom region of the vacuum drying chamber in the
As indicated in FIG. 3, a heating fluid, such as a brine or a gas, is pumped through these
In the
As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, the transport trolley is held in a

At the bottom of the vacuum drying chamber there is a contact element 104 ', 105' for each of the two heat exchangers 120 'and 130', which are connected to a voltage source, not shown, which emits a low voltage of, for example, 8 V to 12 V and whose in Figure 6 recognizable, spring-loaded swivel arms when in the interior 3 'of the vacuum drying chamber trolley in contact with extending in the longitudinal direction of the trolley contacts 112', 113 ', which are electrically with a heating element, not shown, for heating the primary circuit of the respective heat exchanger 120 ', 130' existing heat transfer fluids are connected. When the trolley is moved in the interior 3 'of the vacuum drying chamber, the contacts 112', 113 'slide over the
The electrical energy supplied via the contact elements 104 ', 105' also serves to drive the respective fluid pump, of which only the fluid pump 121 'is shown for the heat exchanger 120' (Figure 5).
Thus, in the device according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the transport trolley carrying product to be treated on its
It can be seen that the heating of the heat transfer fluid in the primary circuits of the heat exchangers 120 ', 130' continues during a passage movement of the transport carriage through the vacuum transport chamber, so that a continuous drying operation is possible with this device.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 6, the same parts as in FIGS. 4 and 5 are identified with the same reference numerals, but with ˝ and are not described again.
The device shown in Figure 6 is used for processing in batch operation, and the transport carriage has on its lower
If the trolley is in the
