Description

The invention relates to a chair with a seat part, a backrest part and a support arm supported on a support column designed as a pedestal, in which chair the seat part in the knee-side area by means of a spring-elastic arch part on the support arm and the backrest part via backrest struts on one with the support arm operatively connected spring element is supported.

From EP-A 0 264 029 a chair is known which essentially comprises a seat part and a backrest part, these parts being provided with a lever linkage with an associated cradle on a support arm of a support part designed as a base frame via an approximately parallelogram-like lever linkage which is operatively connected to a spring element are supported. To achieve a so-called rearward-oriented relax position of the seat and backrest part, the seat part is arranged in the knee-side area via a spring-elastic arch part on the cradle, and in addition a bending groove oriented transversely to the direction of the seat is provided at the transition from the seat part to the backrest part.
In this chair, the forces occurring on the spring element designed as a gas spring are essentially on the parallelogram lever linkage supported so that the gas spring can be dimensioned correspondingly smaller and an adjustment depending on the respective user weight is not necessary.

Based on the chair mentioned at the outset, the invention is based on the object, using relatively simple, constructive means, on the one hand to keep the spring force which occurs in the knee-side arch part when the seat and backrest part is in a relax-oriented rearward position, and on the other hand to provide additional adjustability to enable the load dependent on the respective user.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the knee-side arch part is mounted with a bow section arranged at a distance from the seat part on a first articulation point provided on the support arm in such a way that by changing the distance between the seat part and the bow section the resilient restoring force of the bow part is adjustable.

Further features of the invention will become apparent from the following description in conjunction with the drawing and the claims.

The invention is described below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic and side view of a chair frame section, and
  • Fig. 2 is a schematic and shown in side view variant of the chair frame section.

An der Tragsäule 1 ist ein Tragarm 2 befestigt, welcher sich leicht schräg nach oben gegen den knieseitigen Bereich des Stuhlgestells erstreckt.1 schematically shows a section of a chair frame for a chair (not shown), in which the support column of a foot frame (not shown) is 1. On the support column 1, a support arm 2 is attached, which extends slightly obliquely upwards against the knee area of the chair frame.

Die Schwenkbewegung des Rückenlehnenteils 6 erfolgt gegen die Rückstellkraft der Biegekehle 8.The chair frame has a seat part 5, to which a backrest part 6 adjoins. The seat part 5 and the backrest part 6 can be rigidly or articulatedly connected to one another. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the backrest part 6 is connected to the seat part 5 by a bending groove 8 which is oriented transversely to the seat direction, whereby the backrest part 6 can also be pivoted rearwards relative to the seat part 5. The pivoting movement of the backrest part 6 takes place against the restoring force of the bending groove 8.

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 in the cross-section of the profile, the seat part 5 is guided around the support arm 2 in the knee-side area via a spring-elastic arch part 10 and is mounted on a first articulation point 11 arranged on the underside of the support arm 2. The arch part 10 is provided with an arch section 10 'formed as an extension, which arch section 10' is designed as a lever 12 extending against the support column 1. An adjusting screw 13 is mounted on the lever 12. Since the lever 12 changes its position and inclination when the seat part 5 is loaded, a threaded ring 14 is pivotably mounted in the lever 12. The adjusting screw 13 screwed into the threaded ring 14 is rotatably supported on the underside of the support arm 2. By turning the adjusting screw 13, the lever 12 can be moved in the direction of the double arrow 17 against the support arm 2 or away from it.

With the adjusting screw 13, a change in the distance between the seat part 5 and the arch part 10 or arch section 10 'causes and thus the bias of the spring-elastic arch part 10 can be increased or decreased.

On the underside of the seat part 5, one or two backrest struts 15 are arranged in the region of the backrest part 6, which are attached at one end to the seat part 5 by a rigid connection, for example by a screw connection 16. With the other end, the two backrest struts 15 are arranged on both sides of the support arm 2 and are mounted on a slide 20 via a swivel joint 18. The slide 20 is arranged in the interior of the support arm 2 and has a lower part 21 protruding from the support arm 2, on which lower part 21 the swivel joint 18 is arranged.

The support arm 2 is designed as a hollow profile body, for example in the form of a square tube, on the underside of which a longitudinal slot (not shown) extending in the longitudinal direction of the support arm 2 is provided. The slide 20 consists of an inner part 22 arranged in the support arm 2 and an outer lower part 21. The two parts 21 and 22 of the slide 20 are connected to one another, for example, by a screw (not shown) penetrating the longitudinal slot. The slide 20 is guided largely without play on the underside of the support arm 2. The piston rod 23 of a gas spring 24 is articulated on the inner part 22 of the slide 20. The cylinder 26 of the gas spring 24 is supported and supported at two articulation points 25 arranged opposite one another on the side walls of the support arm 2. The control rod 27 of the gas spring 24 is operatively connected to a known actuating device (not shown) and can be operated by the user of the chair.

In the variant shown in Figure 2, the slide 20 is replaced by one or two tabs 28. The two tabs 28 are each mounted on the support arm 2 with one end designed as a swivel joint 29, while the other end is each designed as a swivel joint 18 on which the gas spring 24 and the backrest struts 15 are mounted. The elements which are further shown in FIG. 2 and are not designated by reference numerals correspond to the elements designated in FIG. 1.

The chair frame described in connection with FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 has a relatively simple construction, in which the support arm 2 designed as a hollow profile body, the gas spring 24 mounted in the support arm 2 and the slide 20 connected to it, or the two tabs 28 and the backrest struts 15 supported thereon form the essential functional elements.

When using the chair according to the invention, the resilient restoring force of the arch part 10 is adjusted by means of the adjusting screw 13 according to the requirements of the respective user. The chair can then be swiveled into the desired relax position and blocked in this position by the gas spring 24. By loosening the gas spring 24, the chair can be pivoted into another desired position and blocked again by means of the gas spring 24.
