Claims (8)

1. Multi-stage vacuum pump (1) with a housing with at least two pump chambers (11, 12, 13) in the housing and with at least one channel (52) joining the pump chambers together, characterised in that the channel (52) is part of a bore (55) leading to the outside in a manner known per se, the bore (55) being sealable with a bung (59), in that a sleeve (56) forming at least part of the inner wall of the joining channel (52) is fixed to the bung (59), and in that the sleeve is equipped with apertures or holes (57, 58), which act as inlets and outlets for the media flowing through the joining channel (52).
2. Pump according to claim 1, characterised in that the pump chambers (11, 12, 13) are separated from one another by a side wall (15, 16), in which the bore (55) forming the joining channel (52) is located.
3. Pump according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the bung (59) is provided with a longitudinal bore (67) to the outside of which a tube section (68) provided with a flange (70) is attached.
4. Pump according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the internal end of the sleeve (56) is chamfered.
5. Pump according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the bung (59) is provided with a thread (62).
6. Pump according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a bolt (64) is mounted on the bung (59) and is detachably fixed to the wall (16).
7. Pump according to claim 6, characterised in that a stop or edge (65) provided on the bung (59) is associated with the bolt (64) in order to fix its position
8. Pump according to claim 3 and one of the remaining claims, characterised in that the bung (59) is equipped both with the tube section (68) and with the sleeve (56).
