Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a washing machine.
A washing machine comprises a frame inside which is mounted a tank containing the rotating drum. The tank is suspended from the upper part of the frame by means of helical springs, aimed at absorbing the imbalance occurring during the rotation of the drum and the movement of the linen inside it. Nevertheless, it is essential, especially during the spinning period when the imbalance due to an irregular distribution of the linen is the greatest, to improve the damping by friction of pads integral with the lower part of the tank in linings integral with the chassis, and by mounting ballast elements on the tank, reinforcing its stability. Another solution consists in using a support and damping system as described in French patent 2,540,207.
Ballast elements with a mass of 10 to 25 kg depending on the load capacity, the drum rotation speed, and the quality of the machine, generally consist of cast iron or concrete parts with metal inserts for their fixing on the external face of the tank.
This results in the need to handle these ballast elements many times, during the supply to the factory, their storage, and their mounting on the machines. In addition, they significantly increase the weight of finished machines, which makes it more difficult to handle them during deliveries, repairs, or moves. Furthermore, the tightening of these elements sometimes results in fragments of enamel on the tank. Finally, given the volume of these elements, it is not always possible to mount them in the most suitable locations, which are located in the upper part and at the rear of the tank.
It is known from document DE-A-1 902 325 to produce a washing machine in which the ballasting elements consist of a liquid reservoir disposed on the external wall of the tank.
The object of the invention is to provide a washing machine having a vacuum, a reduced mass facilitating its handling, in which the ballast has a constant value under conditions of use, and in which the washing of fabrics is carried out in the best conditions thermal.
To this end, the washing machine to which it relates, of the type comprising a tank which, mounted inside a chassis, with the interposition of damping elements, is fitted with ballasting elements constituted by at least one reservoir for liquid, such as water, disposed on the outer wall of the tank, each tank being equipped with filling and emptying means, is characterized in that each ballasting tank is mounted in series on the supply circuit in water from the tank which opens at the bottom of each tank, and in that each tank supplies, from its upper part and by pouring, the tank directly, or indirectly through a product box.
This solution is very advantageous because it allows filling the ballast tanks only when the machine is at its place of use, which considerably facilitates its handling conditions. This also results in a simplification and an improvement in the working conditions in terms of supply and handling before manufacture, since the elements to be handled are much lighter than traditionally.
The washing water and rinsing water first pass through the ballast tank (s) before being discharged either directly into the tank or into the box containing the washing products, depending on the type of machine. As soon as the machine's water supply is connected, the ballast tanks are filled automatically, without requiring any specific operation. In addition, between two washing cycles, the ballast tanks are filled with water which takes the temperature higher than that of the mains water, which limits subsequent water heating expenses. In addition, during a prewash and washing cycle, the water contained in the tanks is preheated during the washing operation which precedes its introduction into the tank, which limits the consumption of heating energy. and avoids the introduction into the tank of cold water risking damaging textile articles previously brought to a high temperature.
According to a first possibility, the solenoid valve controlling the supply of water to the tank is arranged at the end of the water supply circuit located downstream of the ballast tank or tanks.
Alternatively, the solenoid valve controlling the water supply to the tank is arranged at the end of the water supply circuit located upstream from the ballast tank (s), and a valve calibrated to open at a pressure slightly lower than that of the water network is mounted at the downstream end of the water supply circuit. This valve, which opens at the same time as the solenoid valve, prevents water contained in the tanks from escaping uncontrollably into the tank.
Advantageously, the chassis is equipped in the lower part with a tank mounted in series with the tank or tanks associated with the tank.
The ballast thus obtained from the lower part of the chassis improves the stability of the assembly, while making it possible to lighten the chassis, which is an additional saving factor.
According to a first embodiment of this washing machine equipped with a molded plastic tank, the ballast tanks are molded with the tank.
According to another embodiment of this washing machine, the ballast tanks are produced independently of the tank and fixed to the external wall of the latter. These tanks can for example be made of synthetic material, while the tank is made of steel. The location of the different ballast tanks depends on the structure of the machine with opening on the top or on one side and radial access to the drum, or on the side with axial access to the drum.
When several tanks are provided which do not communicate directly with each other, they are connected by flexible pipes.

The arrangement and shape of these tanks are a function of the desired ballast mass, the volume available between the chassis and the tank, and the configuration of the machine and in particular the location of the access openings inside the drum. .
As shown in FIG. 1, the

The machine, represented in FIG. 6, differs from that of FIG. 5, in terms of principle, only by the fact that there is provided a
It is advantageous, when the
