Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is a device for the manufacture of foundry molds made of granular material according to the preamble of
The manufacture of foundry molds, in particular silica sand, by shaping a volume of sand is well known.
A gas-impermeable sheet, such as a plastic film, is placed on a so-called model form, itself placed on a support allowing, by suction, the thermoforming of the plastic film; a "frame" frame is placed over it, equipped with air suction devices and filters intended to retain the sand, the volume thus determined is filled with granular material which can be compacted by vibration; a new sheet of plastic film is placed over it, then, through the chassis, the air trapped between the two plastic films and the chassis is sucked in, which has the effect of giving cohesion to the grains.
The impression is then made for its first half; we operate identically to make the second half and get a mold ready for casting. Once this has been done, and after solidification of the cast material, the depression is eliminated. The sand is recycled and the cycle begins again.
Mention may be made, to illustrate such a method, of French patent application No. 2 156 138 , which describes a device for obtaining molds for casting molten metal.
In this case, the chassis is composed of two identical upper and lower parts, each comprising air evacuation tubes connected to a communication passage, itself connected to a vacuum pump.
The tubes are distributed regularly, so as to cover a large surface.
French patent application No. 2,307,596 relates to a frame of foundry molds in which there is provided a means for introducing and recovering the granular material used. The means consists of a volume of substantially frustoconical shape, the small base being provided with a hatch through which the filling tube can be introduced. This hatch is airtight and remains closed throughout the use of the chassis. After molding, the vacuum is broken, the chassis being turned over, the hatch opens and lets the material flow by gravity.
Such methods and devices confer only slow rates on the molding, since it is necessary to carry out numerous handling operations.
Furthermore, the casting is carried out with the mold produced by assembling the two frames, which immobilizes two expensive frames for obtaining a single mold. Likewise, it is necessary to carry out the shaping operation twice to obtain the upper and lower parts of the mold, only this double operation leading to the production of a complete mold. Two separate plastic films are brought vertically onto two model plates, which are themselves held vertically.
There is already known a device and a method corresponding respectively to
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a device for manufacturing clodding molds, from a granular material, using (vacuum cohesion effect in a polymer envelope conforming to the shape of two model plates placed face to face, with which it is possible to obtain, on a single clod, the two faces necessary for making casting impressions by juxtaposition of identical clods, to allow continuous casting with very reduced handling.
The advantages obtained, thanks to this invention, essentially consist in that:
only the armature and the consumable polymeric envelope are used at the casting station and the armature according to the invention being of a much simpler design than the existing frames, the cost and the investment are reduced accordingly.
A single operation makes it possible to obtain with a single clod the two faces necessary for the production of a casting imprint; only the ends of the alignment are unused, but the yield is nevertheless improved by almost 50% : there will be (n-1) fingerprints for n clods.
The process is semi-continuous, but the casting can be continuous by juxtaposing the lumps. The number of parts required is reduced, as is the volume of granular material used.

Figures 1 to 7 constitute the block diagram of manufacturing according to the method and with a device according to the invention.
In Figure 1, we see all 4 plates constituting the
These housings are connected to the sealing plates by
These plates are also each provided with a
The plates being placed horizontally, a
The
This connector can be connected by any flexible pipe to a vacuum source.
Handling lugs, such as 260 , are also provided for transporting the frame.
These
On assure alors l'étanchéité entre l'armature et l'enveloppe par les gorges 28 et 29.Sealing is then ensured between the frame and the envelope by the
According to an alternative embodiment of the frame 201 (FIG. 9), the
In Figure 4 shows diagrammatically the filling device consisting of plates, the envelope and the reinforcement by
Simultaneously, a vacuum was maintained on the surface of the plates by means of a vacuum source and
The combined effect of these two actions leads to the shaping of the
In FIG. 5, the last part of the polymer envelope is folded over the top of the root ball with the sealing plate and a
The assembly is subjected to any compaction by the lower closure plate and a vacuum is applied inside the closed volume 41 by the
This withdrawal is carried out by removing the depression and, if necessary, by introducing, this time, a slight overpressure to facilitate detachment. This removal is carried out by rotation, as shown in FIG. 6, or by translation, as shown in FIG. 8.
The
In all cases, the vacuum must be maintained until solidification, to compensate for any leaks, in particular those due to the deterioration of the polymeric envelope at the time of casting. The clods are then juxtaposed to form complete imprints, as shown in Figure 7.
The clods push each other on the pouring area, after installation of any cores.
Casting is carried out conventionally by conduits reserved for this use, with or without a counterweight.
After solidification, the batch is transferred to the release station which will, by removing the vacuum, recover the cast product on the one hand, the reinforcement and the sand on the other.
The latter is recycled, while the reinforcement is brought back to the clod manufacturing station.
A continuous process can be provided with transfer and clod supply one by one.
For this purpose, a mechanical or pneumatic device, for example, intended to deform, is placed on the lower 12 and upper 13 sealing plates. the
Likewise, the operations known in the foundry can complete the process according to the invention.
Thus, the polymeric envelope can be covered with a layer of a particular product, intended to facilitate release, for example.
Likewise, during compaction, the direction of the vibrations can be varied to obtain a better quality of compaction.
As for the method and device for ensuring the seal between the frame and the envelope, a variant of the invention proposes to produce a peripheral groove on the end plates of the frame, which is put in relation with the common depression room. As for the support, it comprises, on the corresponding edges, an inflatable seal.
The process consists, before the introduction of the sand, in pressing the edge of the polymeric envelope in the groove by the inflatable seal, in carrying out the operations of filling, compacting, leveling, welding, then in depressurizing the sand and the common room, which plates the edge of the envelope in the groove, the support and the plates can be easily removed.
Likewise, the invention proposes a variant for producing the tubes. These can be hollow, of square or rectangular section. On the lateral faces, a microporous or bored plate is added at a certain distance from the surface of the tube, in particular by means of threaded lugs. Two corridors parallel to the central tube are thus defined.
Maintenance is facilitated and the filter plate can be changed easily, as for costs, they are reduced, since the plate is flat.
In the same way, the method makes it possible to use a three-sided reinforcement, with two model plates articulated around a closure plate, two polymer sheets, which are welded in the upper part after filling and compacting, before vacuum the contents.
