Buts de la présente inventionAims of the present invention

The present invention aims to provide a portable motorized shovel with a small footprint and reduced weight.

It aims to provide a shovel of the aforementioned type having a simplified construction while making it possible to carry out the loading and unloading and / or excavation maneuvers quite easily.

Eléments essentiels de l'inventionEssential elements of the invention

According to the present invention, the portable motorized shovel comprises a frame equipped with an articulated arm, supporting a motor and provided with handlebars, and is characterized in that said articulated arm consists of a pole secured to said frame and in a shovel handle articulated on the free end of said pole, one end of said handle being equipped with a tiltable pallet and the other end of the handle extending beyond the articulation on the pole being articulated on a nut displaceable on a screw endless powered by said motor.

According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention, said motor is mounted on a cradle tiltably mounted in said frame along an axis substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pole.

According to a first variant, the motor is an electric motor which can rotate in both directions.

According to another variant, the engine consists of an internal combustion engine arranged on said cradle via a support pivotally mounted on an axis essentially perpendicular to the pivot axis of the cradle, the drive shaft being arranged essentially parallel to the axis of the screw and being connected, via a centrifugal clutch to a small pulley and a roller in correspondence with a large pulley provided with a rolling surface, arranged in said cradle and linked to said screw in order to driving it in rotation, Bowden type commands controlling the tilting of said support in order either to tension a belt between the large pulley and the small pulley, or to bring said roller into contact with the running surface of the pulley.

Preferably, said frame is articulated on a platform anchored in the ground and intended for the operator.

The pallet housed at the free end of the handle can of course be controlled in a manner known per se in a tilting movement intended for its unloading. Advantageously, said pallet is integral with a lever pivotally mounted on the corresponding end of said handle, the opposite end of which is connected to a first rod, itself linked to a second rod via a pivotable lever on said handle, said second rod being essentially parallel to said pole and actuated in a back-and-forth movement by a lever-shaped pedal articulated on said frame. A return spring is advantageously provided in order to return the pedal to its starting position after each actuation.

It can be seen that the device according to the present invention is particularly simple and uses a reduced number of mechanical elements. The arrangement of the motorized shovel according to the invention is essentially different from that of a prior art mechanical shovel. It will also be noted that the frame is freely articulated on the platform and that the shovel is, in part, actuated by force of a man, whereas, according to the state of the art, the driving force of the shovel or loading it results only from the installed motive power. The judicious arrangement of the various mechanical elements in accordance with the invention makes it possible to obtain a simple, light and therefore portable mechanical shovel, advantageously combining the force of the operator, amplified adequately by levers, with a relatively low motive force.

The invention is described in more detail below, in support of the drawings in which:
  • - Figure 1 is a schematic side view of the motorized excavator according to the invention;
  • - Figure 2 is a schematic view of the underside of the portable shovel in direction A;
  • - Figure 3 is a partial view showing another position of the pallet;
  • - Figure 4 is a schematic representation of another variant of the shovel according to the invention;
  • - Figure 5 is a view in direction B of Figure 4; and
  • - Figure 6 shows a longitudinal section through the ball nut.

The motorized shovel 1 according to the present invention comprises a frame 3 equipped with a pole 5 made integral with it by welding, for example. Said frame 3 is also provided with two handlebars 7 and 7 ′ integral with it but in adjustable angular positions by means of a pivot axis 9 and a latch 11 blocking the handlebars in various angular positions.

The articulated arm of the portable motorized shovel according to the invention consists of the pole 5 and a shovel handle 13 which is articulated on the free end of the pole 5 via a pivot 15. One end of said handle 13 carries the pallet 17, preferably tiltable, and the other end situated beyond the pivot point 15 on the pole 5 is connected by a pivot 19 to a nut 21 which can move on a worm screw 23 driven by a motor 25 housed on frame 3.

The rotation of the motor 25 and, therefore, the rotation in one direction or the other of the screw implies the corresponding displacement of the nut 21 and, therefore, the pivoting of the handle 13 relative to the pole 5 .

According to a preferred embodiment, the movement transmission member consists of a ball screw and a ball nut. Advantageously, the link between the drive shaft and said ball screw 23 takes place via a connecting sleeve 31 secured to said shaft and guided by one or more ball bearings 33 trapped in said oscillating cradle 27.

La rotation de la vis à billes 23 est commandée à partir des mancherons 7, via un ou plusieurs leviers de commande 35 situés à proximité des poignées 37.The rotation of the ball screw 23 is controlled from the handlebars 7, via one or more control levers 35 located near the handles 37.

According to a first variant, the motor 25 is an electric motor which can rotate in both directions. In this case, the control lever 35 consists of a lever with three positions: front, rear, stop.

According to another variant, the engine 25 consists of an internal combustion engine 25 (fig. 4) arranged on said cradle 27 via a support 41 pivotally mounted along an axis 43 essentially perpendicular to the pivot axis 29 of the cradle 27 , the drive shaft 43 being arranged essentially parallel to the axis of the screw 23 and being connected, via a centrifugal clutch 45 to a small pulley 47 and a roller 49 in correspondence with a large pulley 51 provided with a rolling surface 53, arranged at said cradle 27 and linked to said screw 23 for the purpose of driving the latter in rotation, controls of the Bowden type 55, 57 starting from the handlebars 7, 7 ′ being connected to said support 41 via springs 59, 61 and controlling the tilting of said support 41 in order either to tension a belt 63 between the large pulley 51 and the small pulley 47, or to bring said roller 49 into contact with the rolling surface 53 of the pulley 51.

In this way, a means of driving the screw 23 is obtained in the two directions of rotation, in addition to a neutral point in which the belt slips and the roller is not in contact with the large pulley.

It is also possible to provide a cover 65 which protects the ball screw assembly and / or the motor 25.

The frame 3 is advantageously articulated on a platform 67 provided with anchoring points 69 in the ground.

The handling of the machine in operation is carried out using handlebars 7, 7 ′ integral with said frame 3. It is intended to be able to fold the handlebars against the cover 65 and to provide them with a handle 71 arranged at a suitable point, which allows easy transport of the motorized shovel like a suitcase.

One can also provide a wheel 73 mounted on the frame 3, opposite the handlebars 7, 7 ′. In this way, you can move the device like a wheelbarrow.

As shown in Figure l, the pallet 17 is fixed to the handle 13 by a lever 75 so as to allow it to be well located to penetrate the ground in good conditions or to avoid unloading during the ascent. The lever 75 pivots around the pivot axis 77 and is controlled by a first rod 79 linked to the latter by a pivot axis 81. A lock 83 may be provided for blocking the pallet in a position fixed relative to on the handle, for example in the case of backfilling. A stop 85 is provided to limit the tilting movement of the pallet.

Cette deuxième tringle est actionnée par une pédale en forme de levier 91.Said first rod 79 is connected to a second rod 87 via a lever 89 pivoting on the handle at a pivot point 15. This second rod is actuated by a lever-shaped pedal 91.

When the pallet 17 is filled and brought back against the bottom of the pole 5, a spring 93 causes the lever 75 to tilt (fig. 3) which, via the rod 79, raises the pallet 17. When the shovel is mounted on the above the ground, an action on the pedal 91 causes the pallet 17 to tilt to empty it and also return it to the working position for the next operation.

During the downward movement of the pallet 17 towards the ground and into the ground, it remains fixed relative to its handle 13. During this movement, the pedal 91 rises automatically.

In Figure 6, there is shown a sectional view longitudinal, on a larger scale, of the ball nut.

The nut 21 of the ball screw 23 is provided with a flexible washer 97 in order to absorb the repeated impact of the stop 95 against the nut 21. Two metal washers 99 and 101 protect this shock absorber 97. A needle stop 103 makes it easier to reverse the direction of travel despite a significant approximation force between the nut and its stops. This device is repeated at the other end of the ball screw 23. The damping washer 97 is then inserted into the hub of the large pulley 51 or into the sheath 31.

The power shovel according to the invention is simple and makes it possible to lighten or even eliminate the significant and painful effort provided by an operator when handling a shovel or a pickaxe.
