Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a stripline coupler for integrated high-frequency circuits, in which a plurality of coupled striplines with a closely adjacent course to one another are applied in a spiral shape to a dielectric substrate. Such a coupler is known from DE-0S 28 39 874.
However, such a coupler structure with side-coupled multiple strip lines has insufficient insulation due to the different lengths of the spirally arranged conductor tracks. With a correspondingly large number of windings, the outer strip conductor can be considerably longer than the inner strip conductor. Due to the different stripline lengths, undesired reflections arise at the coupler inputs / outputs, which greatly reduce the insulation, especially in the high frequency range.
The invention has for its object to provide a simple stripline coupler with good insulation in its construction.
This object is achieved according to the invention with a stripline coupler of the type described above in such a way that the conductor tracks of the coupler are divided into two coupler halves and their inner cable ends are connected to one another in such a way that the line ends of one coupler half are in the order from the outer to the inner Conductor are brought together with the line ends of the other coupler half in the order from the inner to the outer conductor track.
Advantageous refinements and developments of the subject matter of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.

- Fig. 3 eine Leiterbahnstruktur in planarer Anordnung.
- 1 shows the conductor track structure of a coupler half,
- Fig. 2 shows a strip line coupler in a perspective view of the individual elements and
- Fig. 3 shows a conductor track structure in a planar arrangement.
The four conductor tracks L1, L2, L3 and L4 are applied on a dielectric substrate S1, for example AlO-ceramic on the front, using stripline technology in a closely adjacent course to one another in a rectangular spiral shape. The back of the substrate S1 is metallized over the entire surface. Along the long side of the substrate S1, metallized contacting areas 1 to 7 for contacting with connection elements (not shown in the figure) are applied, which, for example, with a pincer-shaped end region, enclose the substrate on the long side and rest in contact on the metallization areas. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the conductor tracks L1 and L3 are guided to the contacting area 1, the conductor tracks L2 and L4 via a connecting
The line ends located in the inner region of the spiral are plated through-
The second coupler half is constructed in accordance with the conductor structure shown in FIG. 1. In a 180 ° around the parallel to the narrow side of the central axis M, the substrate S2 carrying the second coupler half is placed with its metallized side on the metallized side of the first substrate S1 and connected in a contacting manner (cf. the illustration in FIG. 2). In the substrate S2 lying below in the figure, the outer ends of the conductor tracks are on the right-hand side and, in the same way as in the first half of the coupler, are led to the contacting
The division of the conductor tracks into two coupler halves which are joined together on the ground side also results in a very space-saving construction of the coupler. This advantage is further improved by the small mutual distance between two adjacent conductor bundles. A bundle is defined as the number of conductor tracks of the coupler. In the exemplary embodiment shown, these are four conductor tracks, but any other number is also possible. This distance s between adjacent conductor bundles is equal to the distance of the conductor paths within a conductor bundle.
Fig. 3 shows a schematic representation of a coupler with 2-fold stripline structure in a planar arrangement. Here are the two helically wound coupler halves Instead of back to back arranged planar, ie adjacent on the same side of a substrate S3, the back of which is metallized over the entire surface. The conductor tracks L5, L6 and L7, L8 of the two coupler halves, which are applied in a rectangular spiral shape, are wound in the same direction, counterclockwise in the exemplary embodiment. The line ends located in the inner region of the spiral are connected to one another via
