Description

The present invention relates to a device for collecting or returning coins in a prepaid device, comprising a coin circulation corridor, means for identifying the coins, a case and a receptacle for coins to be returned, means for switching the parts from the corridor to the body or the receptacle, a two-way motor, means for starting the motor, and means for controlling the switching means arranged to be driven by the motor.

A device of this type is already known from document DE-A-3 034 808. The device of this document comprises a motor, on the shaft of which are mounted two cams which actuate respectively two flaps, or pallets, of switch. Such a double structure is already a drawback in itself, because of its cost and its sensitivity to shocks. In addition, the flaps of this device are arranged in such a way that, if the coins are correctly directed towards the cash register one by one, they can however only be directed towards the receptacle all at once. This is a second drawback of this known device.

The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks of the prior art.

To this end, the present invention relates to a device of the type mentioned above, characterized in that the control means of the switching means comprise a cylinder at the surface of which is defined a switching path arranged to be followed by a sensor for controlling the switching means.

Preferably, the routing path is double and comprises two portions in two parallel radial planes connected to a central common portion.

Advantageously, the switching cylinder is mounted to be driven in rotation by the motor by means of a worm screw.

Advantageously also, the switching cylinder is provided with a boss arranged to pivot an engine stop lever.

In this case, a coin retaining rod adjacent to a coin to be pointed in the case or the receptacle can be articulated on the stop lever and is arranged for, under the action of return means, to pass through a wall. of the circulation corridor and block the parts to be retained.

Preferably, the engine stop lever is arranged to actuate the lever of a switch connected to the engine starting means.

More preferably, the switching means comprise a pallet provided with a retaining shoulder and two lateral guide ramps and pivotally mounted under the action of the probe.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique du couloir de circulation des pièces et de la palette d'aiguillage ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue schématique de l'ensemble du dispositif de l'invention ;
The invention will be better understood with the aid of the following description of the preferred embodiment of the device, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic view of the coin circulation corridor and the referral pallet;
  • Figure 2 is a schematic view of the entire device of the invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic view of the developed referral cylinder, and
  • FIG. 4 is a schematic sectional view of a portion of the referral cylinder, along the line xy in FIG. 3.

The coin collection and return device shown in the figures is integrated into a prepayment device, of the public telephone type.

Un dispositif classique d'identification des pièces, non représenté, et disposé sur le côté du couloir de circulation 1.It comprises, after a chute for inserting the parts, a double-walled corridor 1 in which the parts can circulate by gravity before stacking one on the other against a switching pallet 2. A device classic coin identification, not shown, and arranged on the side of circulation corridor 1.

The referral pallet 2 comprises a head with a retaining shoulder for the pieces and, orthogonally, two inclined lateral ramps for guiding the pieces, mounted at the end of an articulated arm on an axis 3 extending substantially in the plane of the corridor circulation, here perpendicular to the running surface of the parts. In the rest position P₀ (Figure 1), the pallet retaining shoulder 2 is in the extension of the corridor 1 and retains the parts.

The pallet 2 can be pivoted about its axis 3 on either side of the corridor 1 to drop a piece either in the entry corridor 11 of a receptacle for returning the pieces, or in the entry corridor 12 of a case.

The pivoting of the pallet 2, and consequently the referral of the parts towards the box or the receptacle, is ensured by the chain which will now be described. This chain comprises first of all an electric motor with two directions of travel 6. The motor shaft carries a toothed pinion meshing on an endless screw 52 integral in rotation with a switching cylinder 5, the screw and the cylinder being rotatably mounted in the device by two end pins 50, 51.

The starting of the motor 6, in one direction or the other, is carried out in a known manner by the device for identifying the parts and an electronic control circuit.

The referral chain also includes a lever 7 and a switch 10 for stopping the engine and a rod 13 for retaining the pieces stacked in the corridor 1 on the first piece 15 to be turned, the flow of the pieces having to be carried out to one.

The lever 7 is pivotally mounted on an axis 8 of the device. On this lever 7 is articulated the rod 13, the free end of which crosses one of the walls of the circulation corridor 1. Under the action of a spring 9, fixed to the rod 13 and to the wall 14 of the corridor 1 , and recalling the rod 13, it can come to press against the other wall of the corridor 1 the part 15 ′ adjacent to that 15 to switch to block it, and with it all those stacked above, during the evacuation of the first coin in the crate or receptacle.

The length of the lever 7 is such that, under the action of the spring 9, its free end cooperates with the edge of the cylinder 5 facing the worm 52.

The cylinder 5 carries, on its edge of cooperation with the lever 7, a boss 55 extending over a small portion of the circumference of the cylinder. Thus, during the rotation of the cylinder, the lever 7 can be pivoted from a part pressing position, on the right in FIG. 2, under the action of the spring 9, to a position for actuating the lever. an engine stop switch 10, on the left in FIG. 2, under the action of the boss 55 and against the action of the spring 9. The switch 10 is connected to the electronic control circuit in order to be able to cause braking and '' engine and switch cylinder stopped.

The two routing paths of the cylinder 5 extend partially circumferentially on the surface of the cylinder, in two parallel radial planes, with nevertheless a common radial portion A, of angular distance here substantially equal to 80 °, between the two connecting obliquely (B₃) to the spaced circular portions C₁, C₂, C₃ and B₂, B₁, of angular distance here substantially equal to 180 °.

In other words, the referral path, from a central radial portion A, is divided into two parallel radial paths B₁, B₂ and C₁, C₂, on one side, and B₃, B₂ and C₃, C₂, of the other side.

A.At each of the two ends of the common guide portion A, that is to say at the confluence of the two parallel guide portions, one of the paths is here slightly raised to form with the other a recess 56 for guiding the probe 4 and prevent it from engaging from the common portion A on the elevated path, this redent 56 does not, however, prevent the probe 4 from passing from the elevated path to the common portion A.

When the cylinder 5 turns in the direction of the arrow F₁ (Figure 3), the probe follows the path A, C₁, C₂, C₃, A, and the probe 4, between the portions A and C₁, rotates the pallet 2 to clear the circulation corridor, allow the previously retained coin to flow and guide it by its corresponding inclined ramp in the entrance corridor 11 of the receptacle (FIG. 2).

When the cylinder 5 turns in the direction of the arrow F₂ (Figure 3), the probe follows the path A, B₃, B₂, B₁, A and rotates the pallet 2 in the other direction to guide by its other inclined ramp a room in the entrance hall 12 of the body (Figure 2).

Thus, the coins flow well one by one in the case or the return receptacle.

The operation of the device thus described can now be discussed.

The probe 4 being engaged in the central portion A of the guide groove of the cylinder 5, the lever 7 being pushed back by the boss 55 of the cylinder 5 and the motor 6 being, in its normal stop position, the electronic control circuit , controlled by the identification device, launches the motor 6 in one direction, to be able, for example, and taking into account the past identification, evacuate the part 15 in the corridor 12 of the body, therefore here in the opposite direction clockwise looking at the cylinder 5 of the pin 50 towards the pin 51 of Figure 2, either in the direction of the arrow F₂ of Figure 3. The cylinder 5 driven by the motor 6, then makes a full turn 360 °, until the boss 55 comes back into contact with the lever 7 and pushes it against the lever of the switch 10 to, by means of the electronic control circuit, brake and stop the engine 6. During the route of the B₂ portion of the guida path ge, the probe 4, which has been pushed towards the circulation lane 1, to the right in FIG. 2, and has made the pallet 2 pivot to the right, has kept the body lane 12 clear to allow the evacuation of the part 15, while the rod 13 blocked the other parts.

To evacuate a part in the receptacle corridor 11, the motor 6 must turn in the other direction and the cylinder 5 in the direction of the arrow F₁, to keep the probe 4 apart from the circulation corridor 1 during the course of the portion guide C.

The probe 4 always following the guide path, this device is insensitive to shocks. It is simple to make, with a minimum of elements and therefore inexpensive.

A referral cylinder has been described with a referral path engraved on its surface. But this path could be defined differently, for example two small strips added. Likewise, instead of being hollow, the referral path could be in relief, the end of the probe 4 then being hollow.
