Abstract

In a car radio having a stereo decoder and a traffic radio decoder, the stereo decoder can be switched over to mono operation by means of an announcement detection signal decoded by the traffic radio decoder. A reduction of interference due to multipath reception in the case of traffic announcements is thus achieved. <IMAGE>
