Durch die Öffnungen in diesen Seitenstreben 24, 25 und die Hülse 40 wird ein Verbindungsniet 42 gesteckt und im durchgesteckten Zustand gegen seitliche Verschiebung gesichert. Claims (13)

  1. A head and foot regulator (1) reversible in an upper position, provided with a plural number of step retainers (2) for swivable frame portions (3), such as mattress frames (4), comprising a C-type rail (15) having locking teeth (17) and being pivoted to the frame by means of a mounting member (6), a support (22) pivoted to the swivable frame portion (3) by means of a mounting member (5), a swivel joint (26) for connecting the joint end (23) of the support to the joint end (16) of the C-type rail, and a toothed brace (29) pivoted to the support the locking end (30) of which protrudes through a longitudinal opening (18) within the C-type rail toward the locking teeth (17) and being combined with an arrangement (19) for being restored, in non-locking manner, to the initial position thereof,
    characterized in that provided at the locking end (30) of the toothed brace (29) are a plural number of locking teeth (31 to 34) of which at least two (31,32;32,33;33,34), in the step retainers (2) under maximum load, are in engagement with the locking teeth (17 of the C-type rail (15).
  2. A head and foot regulator according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking teeth (17) of the C-type rail (15) includes locking faces (20) disposed in parallel, and that the locking teeth (31 to 34) of the toothed brace (29) are provided with corresponding locking faces (35) such that the locking faces (20) of the locking teeth (17), in each step retainer (2) under maximum load, and the locking faces (35) of the locking teeth (31 to 34) in engagement therewith, are in abutment with one another.
  3. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the locking teeth (17) of the C-type rail (15) comprise ten locking faces (20) and the locking end (30) of the toothed brace (29) comprises four locking faces (35).
  4. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the locking teeth (31 to 34) of the locking brace (29) comprise tips (36), and that at least two neighboring tips (36) are respectively in one functional plane (37,38,39).
  5. A head or foot regulator according to claim 4, characterized in that, in the first step retainer (2), the functional plane (37) of the first two locking teeth (31,32) are concurrently disposed, and the functional planes (38,39) of the second and third or of the third and fourth locking teeth (32,33,34), respectively, are disposed in a manner rising toward the plane (21) of the locking teeth (17) within the C-type rail (15).
  6. A head or foot regulator according to claims 4 and 5, characterized in that, in the second and third step retainer (2), the functional planes (38,39) of the second and third or of the third and fourth locking teeth (32,33,34), respectively, are disposed respectively in concurrence over the plane (21) of the locking teeth (17).
  7. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the support comprises two lateral braces (24,25) of an Y-type support the bottom ends of which extending in concurrence relative to the C-type rail (15) are pivoted to the swivel joint (26) while the front ends thereof - between the locking joint (43) and the mounting member (5) - are diverging.
  8. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the support is a U-shaped support (22) open toward the C-type rail (15), which, in the resting position, encloses the C-type rail (15).
  9. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the mounting members (5,6) are in the form of mounting plates (7,8) having mounting angles (9), and that swivel pins (10) are drawn therefrom toward the ends of the side braces (24,25) of the Y-shaped support that are provided with swivel bores (27).
  10. A head or foot regulator according to claim 8, characterized in that the swivel pins (10) and the swivel bores (27) are detachably interconnected.
  11. A head or foot regulator according to claim 9, characterized in that the swivel pins (10) and the swivel bores (27) are riveted together.
  12. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the locking joint (43) encloses a sleeve (40) plugged through a bore (44) in the toothed brace (29) and subsequently compressed on either side the ends (41) of which sleeve are in abutment with the inner sides of the side braces (24,25) of the Y-shaped support and are rigidly interconnected by a connecting rivet (42) for the locking joint (43).
  13. A head or foot regulator according to claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the mounting members (5,6) are in the form of spring clips (11 to 13) having swivel holes (46), that are detachably seated on swivel pins (10) removed from the materials of the C-type rail (15) or the side braces (24,25) of the Y-shaped support or on correspondingly projecting ends of a pin (14).
