Definitions
- the cartridge or ammunition magazine is generally composed of a tubular element placed in parallel to and below the barrel.
- the cartridges or ammunition are inserted and aligned in the tubular magazine and then they are sent into the barrel by means of a lifting device as a result of the opening and closing of the breech controlled by an operating trolley with handle.
- an automatic rifle has been proposed, also usable with a pump and provided with a prismatic and interchangeable magazine.
- a similar rifle must, however, have a specific and relatively complex structure which has little or nothing to do with traditional shotguns.
- the object of the invention is the elimination of the abovementioned disadvantages of traditional pump-action shotguns even while retaining their structure and particular operating characteristics due to the action produced by the pump.
- the invention provides a pump action shotgun according to claim 1). More particularly, the pump shotgun proposed comprises, instead of a tubular magazine parallel to the barrel, a removable prismatic magazine and also quickly inter changeable with another preloaded magazine, which allows, on the one hand, an immediate re-use of the rifle as soon as the cartridges or ammunition of a magazine are exhausted and, on the other hand, to be able to use different cartridges or ammunition by predisposing in the appropriate chargers.
- the rifle according to the invention is provided with simple and effective means for hooking and unhooking the prismatic magazine and for pushing and guiding to the chamber in the barrel each cartridge or ammunition coming from the magazine in consequence of the opening or closing of the breech.
- the means for hooking and unhooking the charger in use consists of a spring hook mounted on the support of the triggering battery of the rifle.
- the means for the introduction into the barrel of each cartridge they comprise a slide which connects the outlet of the magazine to the barrel chamber and a pusher lug secured to the breech and intended to act against the base of a cartridge to push it along the slide to the barrel when the breech will close.
- the carcass of a pump action shotgun with a barrel 11 and, below the barrel, a tubular element 12 on which is axially guided a sleeve with handle 13 intended to control, by means of a carriage, the opening and closing movements of the breech 14 of the rifle.
- the breech 14 is guided longitudinally in the carcass 10 and carries the striker 15 subject to the action of the dog 16 of the trigger battery 17 of known construction, the dog being armed by moving back or opening the breech 14 and off-hook by means of the trigger 18 of the trigger battery 17.
- the pump action shotgun is provided with a prismatic magazine 19 which is mounted and blocked between an additional element 20, fixed to the carcass 10 in line with the tubular element 12, and a support 26 fixed to the trigger battery 17.
- the additional element 20 has a rod 20 ′ which adjusts in the rear end of the tubular element 12 and which is fixed to the carcass by a transverse pin 21 and / or at least one screw 21 ′ placed on the side or below or inside the tubular element 12 by thread.
- the additional element 20 is provided with a slot 22 intended to receive a part of the edge of the magazine 19 and, above, an inclined plane or slide 23 which extends, from the bottom to the top, from the output of the cartridges of the prismatic magazine up to the level of the barrel 11 to guide the cartridges 28 of the magazine to the barrel.
- a spring-loaded catch hook 24 intended to be locked in a lateral notch 25 of the charger 19.
- the hook 24 pivotally mounted on the bridge support 26 fixed to the trigger battery 17 by a pair of transverse pins 27,27 ′ as shown in Figures 2 and 3 of the drawing.
- the cylinder head 14 has, in its part lower, a pusher lug 14 ′ delimited by two recutings or side drafts and intended, when the cylinder head advances in the closed position, to press against the base of the cartridge 28 at the outlet of the magazine 19 to push it along the slide 23 consisting an additional element 20 until the introduction into the barrel 11. With the closed breech, the lug 14 ′ is placed in a slot 29 in the element 20.
- the rifle retains its structure and pump operation, but using a prismatic magazine with the possibility of unhooking it to quickly replace it to achieve the goals and advantages mentioned above.

Abstract
Description
- la Fig. 1 montre une vue schématique d'un fusil à pompe;
