Abstract

In dome shafts and petrol pump shafts, in order to avoid liquid petroleum products, which are discharged from pipelines or conveying devices in the shaft, from leaking into the soil surrounding the shaft, a steel wall (2) is provided, the top end of which is provided with an outwardly bent peripheral flange (5). Said flange (5) is accommodated in a concrete ring (6) which also serves for height compensation and partially projects over the steel wall. The bottom end of the steel wall (2) is welded onto the storage container (1). The pipe connections (10) and cable pipe nozzles are welded into the steel wall (2). With this design, the dome shaft (3) can withstand heavy goods traffic driving over it and is absolutely liquid-tight. <IMAGE>
