Description

The invention relates to a nailer for driving nails into a wall, which has a nail magazine in which the nails are biased towards a driving channel and in which a nail hits the head of a nail that has entered the driving channel axially in the driving channel movable plunger is arranged. Such nailers are known in particular for driving in nails for hanging pictures.

If you hammer a nail into the wall to hang an image, it is necessary to drive it into the wall only to a certain depth so that the hanger of the image can be placed on the shaft behind the head. A nail that is not driven far enough into the wall in the case of the typical elongated hole hangers used for frameless pictures means that the top of the picture does not lie against the wall.

The exact enough driving in of a nail by means of a hammer requires skill and is time-consuming, because one has to hang the picture on a trial basis and then bring the final depth of impact with further hammer blows. A nail that is driven in too far is particularly disadvantageous because it has to be pulled back a little in order to hang up the picture and then does not hold sufficiently.

In the previously known nailers for driving in nails for hanging pictures, a drive-in limitation must be provided in the nailer so that the respective nail cannot penetrate too deeply into the wall. This makes the nailer undesirably complex and therefore expensive.

The invention has for its object to design a nailer of the type mentioned in such a way that the nail can be driven into a wall without skill and special care to the correct depth for hanging an image.

This object is achieved in that the nail magazine for receiving nails with an elongated cylinder body as a nail head, a shaft-side contact surface to limit the maximum driving depth and a recess in the lateral surface for hanging a hanger is formed and that a locking device for audible locking in the nailer the plunger is provided in its end position fully driving a nail.

Through this locking device one hears with a clacking noise that the nail is completely hammered into the wall with its head against the wall. A stop in the nailer to limit the maximum possible stroke for the plunger is not necessary, since even if the noise is ignored by further striking, the nail cannot penetrate too deeply into the wall because its head lies against the wall. The latching of the plunger in its inserted position prevents a nail from inadvertently entering the driving channel. This reduces the risk of injury if the nailer is handled improperly. If you pull the plunger back after hammering in a nail, you will also hear a clacking noise that comes from the protrusion of a nail the magazine in the drive shaft is caused that the plunger has been pulled back far enough.

If a nail is completely hammered into a wall, then its indentation in the nail head is necessarily at the right distance from the wall in order to be able to hang the usual hangers of pictures in it. With such a nail, the hanger is not placed on the shaft, as is the case with conventional nails, but on the nail head.

Apart from the inevitable limitation of the driving depth, the use of such a nail has the advantage that the nail breaks out of the wall with its contact surface less easily than a conventional nail due to its abutment against the wall. As a result, its shaft can have a smaller diameter and can be made shorter than is the case with a conventional nail for the same load. This in turn leads to less damage to the wall, which is less or not noticeable when the nail is removed.

The nailer is structurally particularly simple if the locking device is formed by a locking recess in the plunger and a ball in the housing of the nailer that is biased by a spring toward this locking recess.

The positioning of the nailer on the wall is particularly easy if, according to another embodiment of the invention, the driving channel is arranged on the top of the housing in a housing section which has an upper, straight-line limitation of the contact surface to be set against the wall when a nail is driven in protrudes semicircularly and if the longitudinal axis of the nail to be driven in at the intersection of the upper boundary of the contact surface and perpendicularly through the top of the semicircular housing intersecting line.

A marking identifying three points of a crosshair is available for positioning if, according to another embodiment of the invention, a marking running in the longitudinal direction of the plunger is provided on top of the semicircular housing section.

The invention allows numerous embodiments. To further clarify its basic principle, the drawing shows nails connected to one another in a chain for the nailer according to the invention, two examples for hanging an image with such a nail and a nailer designed according to the invention and are described below. The drawing shows in
  • 1 is a side view of a plurality of nails connected to form a chain, which can be used in the nailer according to the invention
  • 2 shows a view of a conventional triangular hanger of an image,
  • 3 shows a nail driven into a wall with the triangular hanger according to FIG. 2,
  • 4 is a view of a conventional elongated hole hanger for a frameless picture,
  • 5 shows a nail hammered into a wall with the elongated hole hanger according to FIG. 4,
  • 6 is a schematic sectional view of a nailer according to the invention,
  • 7 is a front view of the nailer of FIG. 6th

Durch kurze, dünne Stege 6 sind die einzelnen Nägel 1 an ihren Nagelköpfen 3 so miteinander zu einer Kette verbunden, daß sie parallel zueinander ausgerichtet sind.FIG. 1 shows several nails 1 connected to one another, each consisting of a shaft 2 made of hardened steel and a nail head 3 made of thermoplastic material. Each nail head 3 is designed as an elongated cylinder body and has two depressions 4, 5, one behind the other, each formed by a circumferential groove in its lateral surface. Short, thin webs 6 connect the individual nails 1 on their nail heads 3 to form a chain so that they are aligned parallel to one another.

It is important for the nailer that the nail heads 3 each have a contact surface 7 on the side of the shaft 2 that limits the depth of impact of the nail 1.

FIG. 3 illustrates how this triangular hanger 8 is suspended in the circumferential recess 4 of the nail head 3 of a nail 1 hammered into a wall 9. FIG. 3 shows that the nail 1 has been driven into the wall 9 so far that its contact surface 7 bears against the wall 9. As a result, the nail head 3 is supported on the wall 9, which counteracts the risk of breaking out. It can be seen that the recess 5 remains unused. For example, it can be used to attach a cord. For fasteners that come less close to the wall 9, the recess 5 can be used instead of the recess 4.

Ebenfalls dargestellt ist in der Figur 5 ein oberer Bereich eines rahmenlosen Bildes 11.FIG. 4 shows a conventional elongated hole hanger 10 and FIG. 5 shows how this elongated hole hanger 10 can be fastened to the nail 1 hammered into the wall 9. An upper region of a frameless image 11 is also shown in FIG.

Zieht man den Stößel 17 zurück, dann springt dieser in den Eintreibkanal 16.FIG. 6 shows a nailer 12, which has a nail magazine 14 in a housing 13, in which the nails 1 connected to a chain are inserted and biased upwards by means of a compression spring 15 to a drive-in channel 16 running transversely to the nail magazine 14. With this design, a nail 1b is located in the driving channel 16. It can be conveyed out of it by means of a plunger 17 which is displaceably arranged in it, for which purpose the plunger 17 has a striking head 18, against which one strikes with a fist to drive in a nail. The connecting web 6 tears off to the next nail. If the plunger 17 is pulled back, it jumps into the drive channel 16.

Die Figur 6 zeigt weiterhin, daß der Stößel 17 eine Rastvertiefung 19 aufweist, in die eine mittels einer Feder 20 vorgespannte Kugel 21 zu rasten vermag, wenn der Stößel 17 den Nagel 1b vollständig in eine Wand eingetrieben hat.FIG. 6 also shows that the plunger 17 has a latching recess 19 into which a ball 21 preloaded by means of a spring 20 can snap when the plunger 17 has completely driven the nail 1b into a wall.

To drive a nail 1 into a wall 9, the nailer 12 is placed against the wall 9 with a contact surface 24 on the left in FIG. 6. Correct positioning of the nailer 12 is facilitated in that the housing section 22 has a straight, The upper boundary 23 of the contact surface 24 protrudes semicircularly and a marking 25 is provided on the housing section 22. The tip of the nail 1 is driven in where the vertical line passing through the marking 25 intersects the upper boundary 23.

Since, after tearing off a nail 1 from the nail chain upwards, a piece of the connecting web 6 can easily remain, it is advantageous to provide a trough-shaped longitudinal groove 26 in the driving channel 16, into which the web piece can get, so that the nail 1 can reliably get into the drive channel 16.
