Abstract

The decanting basket (1) is provided with a holder (6) for an electric battery (7) and with an electric light source arranged in the region which receives the neck (2a) of the bottle, in particular an incandescent lamp (4). The latter is connected via a conductor (5) with the battery holder (6). A switch (8), fitted on this conductor on the lower side of the basket, is so arranged that it interrupts the conductor (5) when the basket (1) stands on a support piece, and closes the circuit when the basket is raised from the support, so that the incandescent lamp (4) shines through the neck of the bottle during pouring. In this way it is very easy to dispense clear, pure wine and to stop pouring as soon as a deposit appears in the neck.

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

To serve older red wines from a wine bottle, this is often placed in a so-called decanter, which is also called a bottle basket or bottle cradle depending on the material from which it is made and the country. Such a decanting basket is used both for actual decanting, i.e. used to pour the bottle contents into a carafe, as well as to pour the wine into a glass. To ensure that only the clear wine and not the depot that is available, especially with older wines, is poured out of the bottle, a candlelight is used for pouring, over which you hold the decanter so that the bottle neck is well illuminated so that you can monitor well whether the flowing wine is still clear or whether the depot is moving towards the bottle mouth. However, the use of a burning candle is not always practical and especially when pouring the wine into the glasses, the use of a burning candle is usually so annoying that it is not necessary to use one, so that there is always the risk that not only clear wine but also depot from the bottle.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

With the decanting basket according to the invention, the use of candle light can now be dispensed with and the purity of the wine flowing in the bottle neck can still be monitored. This decanter is namely characterized in that it has a holder for an electric battery and in the area serving to hold the bottle neck an electrical light source connected to the battery holder via a switch for illuminating the bottle neck from bottom to top, the switch preferably an off switch arranged on the underside is such that it interrupts the line when the basket is at a standstill, and the light source preferably has an incandescent lamp.

Kurze Beschreibung der ZeichnungBrief description of the drawing

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawing. The only figure in the drawing shows a decanting basket, with individual parts broken away or cut away.

Bevorzugte Ausführungsform der ErfindungPreferred embodiment of the invention

The basket as a whole, made of any material, such as made of wicker, bast, plastic, wood, but can also consist of metal, is here with 1, the bottle accommodated in it is designated with 2. The basket has an area 1 a in which the bottle neck 2 a is located when the bottle 2 is correctly inserted. The chain 1b serves to secure the bottle against slipping out during pouring. In the area 1a, a lamp holder 3 with an electric light bulb 4 serving as an electrical light source is now attached, which is connected by a line 5 to the holder 6 for the electric battery 7 accommodated here in the base 1c of the basket 1. A switch 8, which is also located in the base 1c of the basket 1, is used to interrupt the line 5. This switch is arranged in such a way that it only interrupts the line 5 when the basket 1 is at a standstill, whereas when the basket is removed from the base 9 which can be a tabletop, for example, is lifted, the lamp 4 is connected to the battery 7.

It is of course possible to arrange the switch elsewhere, for example in such a way that it can be conveniently operated by hand. Depending on the design of the basket, the battery holder can also be accommodated elsewhere, for example in the basket below the bottle.

In the example described above, the lamp 4 does not burn as long as the basket is on a surface. The illumination of the bottle neck 2a is only switched on by lifting the basket from its base for pouring wine. As a result, the lighting time is relatively short, the power consumption is small and the battery life is very long. All the disadvantages associated with the use of a candle, such as lighting, extinguishing, heat, blackening of the bottle neck, risk of lighting something or scorching something, and the difficulty of always keeping the light in the correct position for the part of the object to be monitored There is no need to keep bottlenecks, so that the use of the decanting basket according to the invention not only gives inexperienced people, but also wine experts experienced in handling decanting baskets, essential advantages when pouring out.
