Abstract
The container (1) comprises a base body (2), having a front face (2') and a rear face (2"), the front face having a less height than the rear face, and a cover to be pressure fitted from the top onto the base body, the base body comprising two side walls (3) coupling the front and rear faces and having the same height as the rear face.
Description
- The present invention relates to a container or magazine which has been specifically designed for holding food product preserving films.
- As is known, the cylinder members which support films, of plastics or aluminium material, for packaging and preserving food products, are usually held in paper material casings or small boxes.
- These known film containers, on the other hand, can be hardly opened as they are in a sealed condition and, sometimes, the opening causes said container to tear.
- Moreover, because of the poor stifness of the mentioned known film containers, the feeding and cut of the film contained therein are very difficult, since the film container tends to deflect or deform.
- Accordingly, the task of the present invention is to provide a container, specifically designed for holding food product preserving films which overcomes the above mentioned drawbacks.
- Within the scope of this task, a main object of the present invention is to provide such a container which has a high stifness so as to allow for the plastics or aluminium material film held therein to be quickly and simply cut to the desired length.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a food product preserving film holding container which can be applied to a wall or inside a cabinet and which, moreover, can be reused.
- According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned task and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a container, specifically designed for holding food product preserving films, which is characterized in that it comprises a base body having a lower front face than the opposite rear face thereof, and a cover adapted to be fitted by pressure, from the top, on said base body.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent hereinafter from the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of a film holding container according to the present invention, which is illustrated, by way of a not limitative example, in the accompanying drawing, in which:
- figure 1 is a front elevation view of the film holding container or magazine according to the present invention;
- figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the container cover;
- figure 3 is a cross-sectional view, on an enlarged scale, illustrating the cutting edge projecting from the base body of the container;
and - figure 4 is a vertical cross-section view taken along the line I-I of figure 1 illustrating the container according to the present invention, with the cover coupled to the base body.
- With reference to the figures of the accompanying drawing, the film container according to the present invention, which has been generally indicated at the
reference number 1, comprises abase body 2 which is provided with a front face 2ʹ and a rear face 2ʺ, the front face having a less height than the rear face so as to define an elongated slot for withdrawing the film which is held, in roll form, inside the container itself. - The
side walls 3 of the container body have the same height as the rear wall 2ʺ. - The cover, which can be pressure fitted from the top onto the container body is provided with a
top face 4 therefrom extend both a front flap 4ʹ, provided for extending at the front of the film withdrawing slot, and a peripherical flap, of C shape, provided with arear portion 5 andside portions 6, to be force engaged in the base body. - From the front face 2ʺ of the container, preferably near and parallely to the
container bottom 2, along all of the length of said front face, a cutting edge projects, indicated at 7, which is adapted for cutting the withdrawn film to the desired length. - The rear face of the container is preferably provided with two or
more openings 8 adapted to receive, for example, a hook or screw member, for applying the container to a wall or kitchen cabinet. - The operation of the container will be self-evident from the above description.
- In particular it has been found that the container according to the present invention is very advantageous, since it has a very functional and strong construction allowing for the packaging film to be easily and quickly withdrawn therefrom and cut to the desired length.
- While a preferred embodiment of the container according to the present invention has been disclosed and illustrated, it should be apparent that the disclosed embodiment is susceptible to many modifications and variations all entering the true spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
