Abstract

A hand labeling device is described with the aid of which in the course of an operating cycle self-adhering labels can be imprinted, dispensed and attached to articles. The operating cycle is controlled by means of an operating lever (26) pivotal out of a rest position into a pulled or squeezed position. In a device housing a printing mechanism (34) is arranged which comprises print types for producing an imprint on a self-adhering label disposed in a printing position. By a transport means (22) the self-adhering labels can be brought consecutively into the printing position and into the position for attachment to the articles. An inking device serves for inking the print types of the printing mechanism (34) before each printing operation; said device comprises an inking roll (46) which is held by a stirrup (51) pivotally mounted in the device housing and which on pivoting of the stirrup member (51) rolls on the print types of the printing mechanism (34). For producing a pivot movement about an axis (50) the stirrup member (51) is in drive connection with a rod (66), the displacement of which is controlled by the operating lever (26).

Ein solches Etikettiergerät ist aus der DE-OS 26 38 048 bekannt. Bei diesem bekannten Gerät, mit dessen Hilfe Eti­ketten mehrzeilig bedruckt werden können, ist der die Farb­rolle haltende Bügel an einem Gelenkpunkt abknickbar, damit ein relativ langer Abwälzweg auf den einzufärbenden Druck­typen erreicht wird, ohne daß der Schwenkradius, also der Abstand zwischen der Schwenkachse des Bügels und der Farb­rollenachse zu groß sein muß. Beim Abwälzen der Farbrolle auf den Drucktypen knickt der Schwenkbügel am Gelenkpunkt ab, so daß er nach Durchführung des Einfärbens wie ein gebeugtes Knie an der Stirnseite des Geräts nach vorne heraussteht. Die Gerätevorderseite muß also so weit offen sein, daß der abgeknickte Schwenkbügel herausragen kann. Ein weiterer Nachteil des weiten Vorstehens besteht darin, daß der Bedienungsperson durch den vorstehenden Schwenk­bügel die Sicht auf das anzubringende Etikett verdeckt wird, so daß es unter Umständen nicht an der Stelle ange­bracht werden kann, wo es eigentlich hingehört. Die mehr­teilige Ausführung des Bügels hat auch den Nachteil, daß nach längerem Gebrauch eine exakte Führung der Farbrolle beeinträchtigt wird, da die Gelenkpunkte ausleiern.Such a labeling device is known from DE-OS 26 38 048. Bei dem bekannten Gerät wird die Schwenkbewegung des die Farbrolle haltenden Bügels dadurch hervorgerufen, daß sich das Druckwerk beim Betätigen des Geräts auf die Farbrolle absenkt, worauf ein Drehmoment auf den Bügel ausgeübt wird, das diesen verschwenkt, wobei gleichzeitig das Abwälzen der Farbrolle auf den Drucktypen stattfindet. Wenn bei dem bekannten Gerät ein starrer Bügel verwendet würde, wie er beispielsweise aus der DE-OS 25 02 108 bekannt ist, dann muß ein relativ großer Schwenkradius angewendet werden, damit sich die Farbrolle auf allen Drucktypen abwälzen kann und der Bügel so weit verschwenkt wird, daß der Weg des Druckwerks in Richtung zu dem zu bedruckenden Etikett nicht blockiert wird. Der dazu erforderliche lange Schwenk­radius macht es aber erforderlich, daß die Schwenkachse in einem relativ großen Abstand vor der Schwenkbahn des Druck­werks angebracht wird. Befindet sich nämlich die Schwenk­achse zu nahe an der Bewegungsbahn des Druckwerks, dann kann die Absenkbewegung des Druckwerks den Bügel mit der Farbrolle zwar anfänglich unter Abwälzen der Farbrolle auf den Drucktypen verschwenken, doch tritt dann eine Blockie­rungslage ein, in der die Bewegungsbahn des Druckwerks und die Verbindungslinie zwischen der Farbrollenachse und der Schwenkachse des Bügels genau tangential verlaufen. In dieser Blockierungslage übt das Druckwerk kein Drehmoment mehr auf den Bügel aus, so daß er auch nicht mehr weiter verschwenkt werden kann. Nur wenn die Schwenkachse des Bügels weit genug von der Bewegungsbahn des Druckwerks ent­fernt liegt, wird dieser Blockierzustand verhindert. Die Schubstange 66 sorgt jedoch dafür, daß der Bügel 51 über die Blockierungslage hinaus im Uhrzeigersinn weiter verschwenkt wird und so den Weg für eine weitere Absenkung des Druckwerks freigibt. Bis zum Erreichen der Blockierungs­lage hat der Bügel 51 wegen des Eingriffs zwischen dem Ritzel 72 und dem als Zahnstange ausgebildeten Ende der Schubstange 66 die Schubstange 66 in der Darstellung von Figur 2 gegen die Wirkung der Feder 68 nach links verscho­ben. Sobald jedoch die Blockierungslage erreicht ist, kommt der am oberen Ende des Bedienungshebels 26 angebrachte Zapfen 70 in Anlage an die Schubstange 66, so daß er diese weiter nach links verschiebt, was das Weiterschwenken des Bügels 51 in Richtung zur Frontseite des Geräts zur Folge hat. Anschließend wird der Bedienungshebel 26 gegen den Handgriff 12 gezogen, bis das Druckwerk 34 auf dem Druck­tisch 36 aufschlägt. Da bei aufgeklappter Frontklappe 56 die Austrittsöffnung 64 der Führungsbahn 54 offen ist, können sich die Führungszapfen 52, 53 im Verlauf ihrer Verschiebebewegung durch die Austrittsöffnung 64 aus der Führungsbahn 54 heraus in die in Figur 4 dargestellte Lage bewegen. Im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel treten die Führungszapfen 52, 53 aufgrund von Zentrifugalkräften auto­matisch aus der Führungsbahn 54 heraus, wenn der Bedienungs­hebel 26 bei geöffneter Frontklappe 56 angezogen wird und der Farbrollenhalter 48 zusammen mit der Farbrolle 46 mit relativ hoher Geschwindigkeit bewegt werden. Die Bedienungs­person kann in dieser Lage den Steg 92 des Farbrollenhal­ters 48 erfassen und den Farbrollenhalter 48 mit der in ihm drehbar gelagerten Farbrolle 46 aus dem Bügel 51 heraus­heben. Vorzugsweise bilden der Farbrollenhalter 48 und die Farbrolle 46 eine komplette Austauscheinheit, so daß es nicht erforderlich ist, in den Farbrollenhalter eine neue Farb­rolle einzusetzen, sondern es wird einfach eine neue Bau­einheit aus einem Farbrollenhalter und einer Farbrolle in den Bügel 51 eingesetzt. Nach dem Einsetzen wird der Farbrollenhalter 48 so verschwenkt, daß er die in Figur 3 dargestellte Lage einnimmt, in der die Führungszapfen 52, 53 in der Führungsbahn 54 liegen, worauf dann der Bedie­nungshebel 26 losgelassen wird, was dazu führt, daß sich der Farbrollenhalter 48 mit der Farbrolle 46 in die Posi­tion von Fig. 1 zurückbewegen. Anschließend wird die Front­klappe 56 geschlossen, so daß der Ansatz 60 die Austritts­öffnung 64 wieder verschließt. Dadurch ist auch die Füh­rungsbahn 54 wieder geschlossen, so daß der Farb­ rollenhalter 48 wieder über die Führungszapfen 52, 53 ge­führt und sicher im Gerät festgehalten wird.The device described is shown in FIG. 4 with the front flap open.
