    Claims (21)

    1. A linking connector for an item of electrical equipment involving positioning by latching engagement on a mounting rail, comprising a base (16) of insulating material which is capable of being accommodated under the casings (12) of two successive items of electrical equipment (10A, 10b) between such casings (12) and the subjacent mounting rail (11), bearing upon that mounting rail (11) during use, being engaged in respect of part thereof in an opening (17A) provided for that purpose in the casing (12) of the item of electrical equipment (10A) and in respect of part thereof in an opening (17B) also provided for that purpose in the casing (12) of the item of electrical equipment (10B), and, carried by said base (16), at least one metallic connection member (20), which, at each of the transverse ends of said base (16), has a contact piece (21) suitable for electrical connection to a contact track (22) provided for that purpose in the opening (17A, 17B) of the casing (12) of the corresponding item of electrical equipment (10A, 10b), the base (16) comprising a lower portion by means of which it is capable of bearing on the mounting rail and an upper surface by means of which it is capable of receiving the metallic connection member (20), in such a way that the electrical contact is obtained by the contact tracks bearing on the connection member.
    2. A linking connector according to claim 1, characterised in that each of the contact pieces (21) of said connection member (20) is resiliently deformable substantially perpendicularly to said base (16).
    3. A linking connector according to either one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that said connection member (20) comprises in one piece a middle portion (23) by means of which it is fixed to the base (16), and, each disposed at respective ends of said middle portion (23), two limbs which form the contact pieces (21) thereof.
    4. A linking connector according to claim 3, characterised in that said limbs each form an acute angle (V) to the middle portion (23) which they flank.
    5. A linking connector according to either one of claims 3 and 4, characterised in that said limbs are each extended by a return portion (24) parallel to themselves.
    6. A linking connector according to any one of claims 3 to 5 characterised in that said connection member (20) is a pin of round wire.
    7. A linking connector according to any one of claims 2 to 6, characterised in that said connection member (20) is accommodated in an opening (25) in the base (16), which, elongated in the form of a slot, opens at the surface thereof, and only the contact pieces (21) that it forms issue from said opening (25).
    8. A linking connector according to claim 7, characterised in that said opening (25) has three enlargement portions, one (32) in its middle region and two (33) at each of its respective ends.
    9. A linking connector according to either one of claims 7 and 8, characterised in that the connection member (20) is latched by means of its middle portion (23) under a hook (35) provided for that purpose at the bottom of the opening (25) in which it is accommodated.
    10. A linking connector according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that it comprises a plurality of connection members (20) in mutually parallel relationship.
    11. A linking connector according to claims 7 and 10 in combination, characterised in that, its base (16) comprising a plurality of openings (25), a marker (29) is associated with some at least of said openings (25) on said base (16).
    12. A linking connector according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that along one at least of its longitudinal sides its base (16) has a laterally projecting tongue portion (39).
    13. A linking connector according to claim 12, characterised in that said tongue portion (39) comprises two successive parts (39A, 39B) of different heights forming a step (40) in its middle region.
    14. A linking connector according to either one of claims 12 and 13, characterised in that said tongue portion (39) extends at the bottom of the base (16).
    15. A linking connector according to any one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that, for its guidance along the mounting rail (11), the base (16) has at least one lug (42) in projecting relationship on its lower surface along one at least of its longitudinal sides.
    16. An item of electrical equipment involving positioning by latching engagement on a mounting rail, of the type comprising, in a casing (12, 48), for serving one or more constituents, at least one contact track (22), said item of equipment being specially adapted for the use of a linking connector (15) according to any one of claims 1 to 15, the casing (12) has at its bottom at one at least of its transverse ends an opening (17, 17A, 17B, 17'B) into which said contact track (22) issues and into which said linking connector (15) is able to engage.
    17. An item of electrical equipment according to claim 16, characterised in that the transverse contour of said opening (17, 17A, 17B, 17'B) is at least in part of the profile of the base (16) of the linking connector (15), and, in particular, the base laterally comprising in projecting relationship a tongue portion (39) according to claim 12, said contour laterally comprises at a corresponding position a recess (41, 42', 42") whose height corresponds to that of said tongue portion (39).
    18. An item of electrical equipment according to claim 17, characterised in that said tongue portion (39) comprising, in accordance with claim 13, two successive parts (39A, 39B) of different heights (HA, HB), the height (H'A, H'B) of said lateral recess (41, 42', 42") corresponds to one or other of said heights.
    19. An item of electrical equipment according to any one of claims 16 to 18, characterised in that provided transversely in its opening is an abutment (44) for limiting the engagement therein of a linking connector (15).
    20. An item of electrical equipment according to any one of claims 16 to 19, characterised in that an opening (17B, 17'B) is provided at each of its transverse ends.
    21. An item of electrical equipment according to any one of claims 16 to 20, characterised in that, comprising a printed circuit board (13) in its casing (12, 48) for serving and/or supporting its constituent(s), said printed circuit board (13) issues into its opening (17, 17A, 17B, 17'B) and the corresponding contact track(s) (22) is/are present at its lower surface.
