Definitions
- the reflector and the holder carrying the lens and the diaphragm are inserted into the tubular housing from the rear.
- a rubber cap is placed on the tubular housing from behind.
- the end of the tubular housing pointing in the light exit direction has an outwardly directed flange and around gives the lens at a short distance in its transition area to its outer flange.
- the outer dimensions of the lens are adapted to a predetermined rectangular body opening.
- the long sides of the rectangular lens run horizontally when the headlamp is installed.
- the lens is placed from the front onto the flange, which is adapted to the size and shape of the lens, and glued to it.
- the flange of the housing rests with its edge area on the back of an annular support for the fixed or adjustable pivot points.
- the ring-shaped carrier is screwed to a frame placed on the front of the lens by means of fastening screws, so that the ring-shaped carrier and the frame firmly clamp the flange and the lens between them.
- the ring-shaped carrier projects above and below the rectangular flange and has in each of these two sections a fastening point on the side for a pivot point supporting the housing.
- a pivot point is used in three of the four possible attachment points. The three pivot points form two mutually perpendicular axes about which the headlight can be pivoted.
- the pivot points lie at least in the vicinity of the plane passing through the pivot point of the optical block consisting of the housing, reflector and lens, which is at a small distance from the flange due to the relatively large weight of the lens.
- the optical block is connected to a fixed receiving part via the fixed or adjustable pivot points. Such or similar attachment of the optical block is often common in sealed beam applications for the USA.
- the carrier which receives the pivot points would have to, if it should not protrude beyond the outer edge of the flange, very stable with the back Side of the flange can be connected and have a relatively small distance from the back of the flange, so that the position of the pivot points of the optical block is at least approximately in equilibrium.
- Such socket-like approaches can be removed from the mold by means of radially outwardly adjustable tool parts.
- This makes it possible to design the tubular housing in such a way that it tapers conically and / or in stages in the light exit direction.
- the outer flange widens so that the socket-like approaches and consequently also their connection to the flange can be made longer.
- There is also a step in the tubular housing as a support surface for the from the rear into the housing inner usable reflector usable.
- the axes of the bush-like projections which are arranged on one side of the tubular housing, run parallel to one another.
- the structure of the tool is relatively simple, since fewer adjustable tool parts are required for the demolding of the housing than if the axes of the bush-like extensions are at an angle to one another.
- This also simplifies the assembly of the carrier, since the pin-shaped fastening elements can be inserted into the socket-like approaches from one direction.
- the bush-like attachments are formed directly or indirectly through supporting walls on the back of the flange.
- the socket-like lugs can be arranged at any desired distance from the rear of the flange without reducing the stability of the connection between the socket-like lugs and the flange.
- the socket-like projections formed directly on the rear of the flange and the walls carrying the socket-like projections are molded onto the lateral surface of the tubular housing with their side facing the tubular housing.
- a further advantage is if the bush-like projections formed directly on the rear of the flange have a section adjacent to the lateral surface of the tubular housing, which section is open towards the front of the flange. This makes it very easy to demould even very long socket-like approaches.
- connection between the support element and the bush-like lugs has a high strength if screws are used as pin-shaped fastening means which engage in the bush-like lugs and pass through bores of the carrier receiving the pivot points. It is also advantageous if the pivot points can be fixed on one or more supports. In this case, it is expedient for a carrier to be arranged on the diametrically opposite sides of the flange surrounding the tubular housing and for each carrier to have two fastening points for a respective pivot point. Such a solution is not only space-saving compared to an annular carrier, but also reduces the weight of the headlight.
- the ellipsoidal reflector (2) and the holder (5) supporting the lens (3) and the diaphragm (4) are inserted into a tubular housing (1) made of plastic. used.
- the reflector (2) has an opening (6) at the apex, which is surrounded on the back of the reflector (2) by an annular socket (7).
- the bulb (8) with its glass bulb is inserted through the opening (6) of the reflector (2) until it comes to rest on the end face of the socket with its outer flange surrounding the base.
- the flange (9) of the base of the incandescent lamp (8) is fixed to the socket (7) by means of a wire spring (not shown).
- pointing lugs (16) are formed, the end faces of which serve as a contact surface for the edge region (10) of the reflector (2). Screws (17) which fix the reflector (2) on the housing (1) engage in holes in the lugs (16).
- a rubber cap (18) is placed on the back of the tubular housing (1).
- an outwardly directed peripheral flange (19) is molded onto the tubular housing (1).
- the tubular housing (1) surrounds the lens in its transition region (20) to the outer flange (19) at a small distance.
- the flange (19) is rectangular and has a circumferential groove (21) on the front at its edge area, into which the lens (22) covering the flange (19) and the lens (3) is inserted and fixed in place by gluing is.
- the narrow sides (23) of the rectangular flange (19) run vertically. Between the narrow sides (23) and the tubular housing (1), four socket-like projections (24) and (25) are molded onto the rear of the flange (19). The axes of the bush-like extensions (24 and 25) run horizontally and parallel to the main surface of the flange (19). In one of these diametrically opposite sides (26) of the flange (19), an opening is made in the center, into which the socket (27) for parking lights is inserted in a bayonet-like manner.
- the opening for the socket can also be made in the other side of the flange (19).
- the four bush-like lugs (24 and 25) are each arranged symmetrically to the horizontal center plane (28) of the headlamp.
- the two bush-like lugs (24), which are at a smaller distance from the center plane (28) of the headlamp, are formed directly on the back of the flange (19) and extend from the narrow side (23) of the rectangular flange (19) to the outer surface of the tubular one Housing (1).
- a) the ellipsoidal reflector and the holder supporting the lens and the aperture are immovably accommodated by a tubular plastic housing,
- b) the end of the tubular housing pointing in the direction of light exit has an outwardly directed flange, the main plane of which runs perpendicular to the optical axis,
- c) the flange corresponds in size and shape to the lens covering the tubular housing towards the front,
- d) the lens is placed on the flange of the housing and firmly connected to it,
- e) the housing is supported by at least one adjustable pivot point about an axis formed by two fixed pivot points or by a fixed pivot point and a further adjustable pivot point in a fixed receiving part,
- f) the pivot points are fastened in the vicinity of the outer edge region of the flange on a support rigidly connected to the flange.
In the case of such a headlight, the reflector and the holder carrying the lens and the diaphragm are inserted into the tubular housing from the rear. A rubber cap is placed on the tubular housing from behind. The end of the tubular housing pointing in the light exit direction has an outwardly directed flange and around gives the lens at a short distance in its transition area to its outer flange. The outer dimensions of the lens are adapted to a predetermined rectangular body opening. The long sides of the rectangular lens run horizontally when the headlamp is installed. The lens is placed from the front onto the flange, which is adapted to the size and shape of the lens, and glued to it. The flange of the housing rests with its edge area on the back of an annular support for the fixed or adjustable pivot points. The ring-shaped carrier is screwed to a frame placed on the front of the lens by means of fastening screws, so that the ring-shaped carrier and the frame firmly clamp the flange and the lens between them. As a result, the rigid connection between the carrier and the housing made of plastic is very stable. The ring-shaped carrier projects above and below the rectangular flange and has in each of these two sections a fastening point on the side for a pivot point supporting the housing. A pivot point is used in three of the four possible attachment points. The three pivot points form two mutually perpendicular axes about which the headlight can be pivoted. The pivot points lie at least in the vicinity of the plane passing through the pivot point of the optical block consisting of the housing, reflector and lens, which is at a small distance from the flange due to the relatively large weight of the lens. The optical block is connected to a fixed receiving part via the fixed or adjustable pivot points. Such or similar attachment of the optical block is often common in sealed beam applications for the USA. In order to be able to pivot the optical block according to the projection principle in other existing receiving parts, in which the fixed and adjustable pivot points would lie in the projection surface of the flange, the carrier which receives the pivot points would have to, if it should not protrude beyond the outer edge of the flange, very stable with the back Side of the flange can be connected and have a relatively small distance from the back of the flange, so that the position of the pivot points of the optical block is at least approximately in equilibrium.
- g) bush-like projections are formed on the back of the flange, the axes of which run parallel to the main surface of the flange,
- h) the carrier receiving the pivot points is rigidly connected to the flange by means of pin-shaped fastening means which engage in the bush-like projections,
- i) the sleeve-like approaches are connected in their entire length to the rear of the flange.
Such socket-like approaches can be removed from the mold by means of radially outwardly adjustable tool parts. This makes it possible to design the tubular housing in such a way that it tapers conically and / or in stages in the light exit direction. With such a solution, the outer flange widens so that the socket-like approaches and consequently also their connection to the flange can be made longer. There is also a step in the tubular housing as a support surface for the from the rear into the housing inner usable reflector usable.
It is also advantageous if the axes of the bush-like projections, which are arranged on one side of the tubular housing, run parallel to one another. As a result, the structure of the tool is relatively simple, since fewer adjustable tool parts are required for the demolding of the housing than if the axes of the bush-like extensions are at an angle to one another. This also simplifies the assembly of the carrier, since the pin-shaped fastening elements can be inserted into the socket-like approaches from one direction. It is a further advantage if the bush-like attachments are formed directly or indirectly through supporting walls on the back of the flange. In such a solution, the socket-like lugs can be arranged at any desired distance from the rear of the flange without reducing the stability of the connection between the socket-like lugs and the flange. In addition, for reasons of stability, it is advantageous if the socket-like projections formed directly on the rear of the flange and the walls carrying the socket-like projections are molded onto the lateral surface of the tubular housing with their side facing the tubular housing.
A further advantage is if the bush-like projections formed directly on the rear of the flange have a section adjacent to the lateral surface of the tubular housing, which section is open towards the front of the flange. This makes it very easy to demould even very long socket-like approaches.
The connection between the support element and the bush-like lugs has a high strength if screws are used as pin-shaped fastening means which engage in the bush-like lugs and pass through bores of the carrier receiving the pivot points.

The reflector (2) has an opening (6) at the apex, which is surrounded on the back of the reflector (2) by an annular socket (7). The bulb (8) with its glass bulb is inserted through the opening (6) of the reflector (2) until it comes to rest on the end face of the socket with its outer flange surrounding the base. The flange (9) of the base of the incandescent lamp (8) is fixed to the socket (7) by means of a wire spring (not shown). On the outer peripheral edge area (10) of the reflector (2) are in the from a cup-shaped holder (5) made of sheet metal, cut-free webs (11) are fastened with their free ends (12) angled outwards. The web (13) cut free from the cup is angled toward the optical axis of the reflector and, with its free end section, serves as an aperture (4). The bottom (14) of the cup-shaped holder (5) is cut out and serves as a receptacle for the lens (3). The tubular housing (1) tapers in the light exit direction through a peripheral step (15) in its central section.
However, the opening for the socket can also be made in the other side of the flange (19). On the sides (26) of the flange (19), the four bush-like lugs (24 and 25) are each arranged symmetrically to the horizontal center plane (28) of the headlamp. The two bush-like lugs (24), which are at a smaller distance from the center plane (28) of the headlamp, are formed directly on the back of the flange (19) and extend from the narrow side (23) of the rectangular flange (19) to the outer surface of the tubular one Housing (1). So that these relatively long bush-like projections (24) can be easily removed from the mold, their sections (29) adjoining the outer surface of the tubular housing are opened towards the front of the flange. As a result, the inside of the sections (29) of the bush-like extensions (24) can be removed from the front of the flange (19). The socket-like lugs (25), which have a greater distance from the horizontal central plane (28) of the headlamp, are integrally formed on the rear of the flange (19) by the walls (30) carrying them and are designed to be substantially shorter than the other two lugs (24) . On the diametrically opposite sides (26) of the flange is attached to the four lugs (24 and 25) made of sheet metal and with a cross-section Z-shaped mounting bracket (31) by means of mounting screws (32), which are drilled through holes in the free end sections ( 33) and (34) of the Z-shape and engage in the bush-like extensions (24 and 25). The two mounting brackets (31) have a recess (35) opening in the middle of the lateral surface of the tubular housing (1), through which the socket (27) for parking lights inserted into the opening of the flange (19) passes. Openings are made in the Z-shaped mounting bracket (31) on both sides of the recess (35) in the central section of the Z-shape, which serve as mounting points for the pivot points (36) of the headlamp. The Pivot points (36) are formed by plastic parts which are inserted into the openings in the fastening bracket and in which a spherical shell is inserted. The ball of an adjusting element connected to a fixed receiving part or of a fixed element can be inserted into these spherical shells in a self-locking manner (not shown in the drawing). At three of the possible four fastening points for the pivot points (36), the pivot points form two axes (37 and 38) which are perpendicular to one another and about which the headlight can be pivoted.
