Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kugelwaschmaschine der im Oberbegriff des Patentanspruchs 1 genannten Art.The invention relates to a ball washing machine of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

Such a ball washing machine is known from the common prior art (e.g. from FR-A 2 208 476), in which the balls to be washed are placed on a disk designed as a perforated plate and serving as a ball transport cage by means of an inclined chute. The individual holes of the perforated plate are each intended to receive a ball, these transport holes each having a diameter which is somewhat larger than the diameter of the balls to be transported and washed. A stationary table is arranged under the horizontally aligned transport disc, which serves as a rolling surface for the balls lying in the transport holes of the transport disc during rotation of the transport disc. The balls placed on the perforated disk are carried along with it for a practically complete rotation of the perforated disk. At the end of the rotation of the perforated or transport disk, the balls fall down from the perforated disk onto a rolling trough, via which the balls are then fed to a downstream processing device, usually a drying station. During the rotation of the perforated disc, the balls to be washed are passed under three brushes, each rotating about its own axis. A detergent is used for the entire path covered by the balls to be washed in the rotating perforated disc. The rotating brushes have a diameter which is approximately equal to the radius of the transport disk, so that all balls of the circular ring belt transported by the transport disk are caught by balls of each of the rotating brushes, namely by three such rotating brushes in the same direction on their way through the washing machine.

Balls in the size range of 4 to 25 mm in diameter can be processed with the known washing machine. In particular, balls with smaller diameters can no longer be washed on this device, since the required dimensional accuracy of the distance between the transport disc and the rolling surface, in particular in the edge region of the disc, is no longer ensured.

Furthermore, with this arrangement, the required equal treatment of the balls is no longer guaranteed, since, when the transport disk and the rotating washing brushes rotate in opposite directions, the balls running on the outside of the transport disk are subject to a stronger cleaning action than the balls running on the inner edge of the annular ball belt. The situation is reversed accordingly if the transport disc and the brushes rotate in the same direction. This does not change the principle of unequal treatment of the balls.

The throughput of the known washing machine is limited by the way the balls are fed onto the perforated disc surface from the chute, by the way in which the balls are guided in an annular band and by the movement of the ball transport direction from tangential to radial during the ball discharge. A washing machine of the known type typically achieves a throughput of approximately 150 kg / h for balls with diameters in the range from 10 to 15 mm.

Based on this prior art, the invention has for its object to improve a ball washing machine of the type mentioned in such a way that the throughput through the washing machine can be increased, that an absolute equal treatment of all balls to be washed is guaranteed and that finally the diameter range of the the balls to be treated in the washing machine can be enlarged, that is to say that balls with a smaller and a larger diameter can be washed than is possible on a comparable washing machine according to the prior art.

To achieve this object, the ball washing machine according to the invention has the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1 in a washing system of the type described at the outset.

One of the main features of the invention is therefore that the ball belt of the balls to be washed is guided in the transport direction without being curved over a cage drum instead of over a cage disk. Due to the non-curved guidance of the ball belt and the higher mechanical stability and strength of the transport cage due to its design as a self-contained and self-stabilizing drum, on the one hand a higher throughput speed and thus higher throughput for the ball washer is possible, but on the other hand also processing of in particular balls with a smaller diameter are possible.

Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

One of the most important embodiments of the invention can be seen in the fact that the cage drum and the rolling surface drum mounted in it, on the cylinder jacket of which the balls guided in the transport holes of the cage drum can roll, can be driven independently of one another and in particular in opposite directions. The balls transported and to be washed in the drum cage are thus given a much larger self-rotation component distributed uniformly over the entire bandwidth than the balls would have had they simply rolled off on a static rolling surface. Due to this larger self-rotation, however, a significantly improved cleaning effect can be achieved with a comparable brush arrangement and a comparable speed of the spherical belt passed under the brushes. In addition, the lifting of the balls at the feed point into the cage and the lifting of the washed balls into the drainage channel are improved and promoted if the transport drum and the rolling surface drum rotate in opposite directions. The resulting improved takeover of the balls the feed chute on the transport drum and the actively supported dispensing of the ball into the drainage channel in turn make it possible to make positive contributions to the functional reliability and increase in throughput of the ball washing machine according to the invention.

The absolutely necessary equal treatment of all balls running through the washing machine is guaranteed in the ball washing machine according to the invention especially if instead of the rotating washing brushes non-rotating washing brushes are used, which are preferably guided axially as an endless rotating brush belt across the entire width of the drum, and in the active washing area of the drum width, not on a circular arc, but strictly linear axially with respect to the drum axis. The circumferential band of the standing brushes is preferably designed so that both linear branches of the brush band are guided axially over the cage drum surface with paternoster-like design of the brush band. As a result, the spherical belt is subjected to an intensive, but at the same time absolutely equally distributed washing treatment. An essential design feature of the invention is furthermore the manner in which the spherical belt is placed on the transport drum. This ball task is preferably not carried out from a trough or chute on the horizontal transport surface, which inevitably leads to the balls overflowing on the transport disc, that is to say that balls are transported lying on the transport disc instead of lying in their holes on the rolling surface. To avoid this problem, the ball is transferred from the feed trough or feed chute to the transport cage at a point where the transport cage runs practically perpendicular, namely preferably in the area of one of the two diametrically opposite vertical tangent points, in particular a few degrees of curvature in the direction of drum rotation behind this point. With this arrangement, even if the balls are not guided in only one position on the transport cage drum, it is ensured that only the balls that lie in one of the transport holes are taken along by the cage drum. The balls, which are not in holes, but on the drum surface, roll off the drum surface and are not taken away. On the other hand, with the balls which are received in the transport holes of the transport drum, the cage rotation, possibly reinforced by the counter-rotation of the rolling surface cylinder, leads to the ball being rolled into the transport hole, since the ball rotates on the edge of its rear in the direction of rotation of the cage Transport opening is in the cage drum. This mechanism ensures a quick and error-free loading of the cage drum and thus results in error-free operating behavior in the sense of an increase in throughput.

The same applies with the opposite sign on the side of the second vertical tangent point that is at least substantially diametrically opposite the ball feed line or, more precisely, the vertical tangent plane line to the cage drum, where the drainage channel is preferably arranged in this area or a few degrees of curvature in the direction of rotation of the drum behind this line or point is. The ball rolls here on the edge of its transport hole leading in the direction of rotation, which has a positive effect on unscrewing or lifting the ball out of the transport hole in the transport cage drum onto the drainage channel. The sum of these measures means that the ball washer according to the invention can achieve throughputs of the order of 270 kg / h with ball diameters of the order of 10 to 15 mm.

With the ball washing machine according to the invention, balls with diameters in the range from approximately 2 mm to 30 mm and above can be washed. While the transport cage drum for balls with a smaller diameter is preferably made of brass, it can be made of plastic for balls with a larger diameter. In both cases, the unwind drum preferably consists of a steel sheet coated with plastic or with a relatively blunt elastomer.

The device also has washing fluid nozzles 7 and brushes 8 for washing and brushing the balls 2, which are passed through in the cage 3 under this brush washing station. On its side opposite the feed chute, the cage 3 is connected to a rolling channel 9 for receiving the washed balls discharged from the cage.

Essential to the invention, as already explained above, the transport cage 3 and the ball rolling surface 6 are designed as coaxially mounted cylinder drums which are at least essentially the same width. The rolling surface drum 5 is arranged in the cage drum 3, with its surface at such a distance from the inner wall of the transport cage drum that the center points of the respective cage drums th balls are at least substantially in the range of the sheet thickness of the transport cage drum.

In the manner indicated in Fig. 1 by the direction of rotation arrows 10,11, the rolling surface drum 5 and the transport cage drum 3 are driven in opposite directions, in such a way that with the horizontal axis of rotation of the two drums 3, 5 the transport cage drum 3 has such a direction of rotation that the at the outlet 12 of the feed chute 1, balls given on the transport cage 3 ascending on the cylinder drum sleeves, rolling over the apex line and then descending to the inlet 13 of the rolling channel 9.

An essential feature of the invention is that the washing brushes 8, at least during the active washing treatment of the balls 2 to be washed, do not rotate about their own axis, but only linearly axially, that is to say perpendicularly to the direction of flow 14 (FIG. 2) of the balls through the machine be moved. The washing brushes 8 are combined in the manner shown in FIG. 2 to form an endless belt, preferably a link belt, like a patemoster. In the manner shown in FIG. 2, absolutely every one of the balls 2 will be treated in the same way by the linearly guided washing brushes.

The ball feed chute 1 and in particular its outlet 12 for transferring the balls 2 to the transport cage drum 3 as well as the inlet 13 of the rolling channel 9 are designed so that they only have a single ball position in height. This means another important step towards trouble-free continuous operation of the system. The person skilled in the art can easily set this by designing the supply and discharge of the balls, by deflecting profiles and / or by the required inclination of the chutes or channels.

Both the transport cage drum 3 and preferably also the rolling surface drum 5 are axially displaceable and exchangeable, so that, for example, the transport cage drum 3 can be exchanged within 3-5 minutes, e.g. if balls with a different diameter should be washed and the rolling surface drum 5 can be cleaned at the same time.
