Definitions
- the invention relates to a bushing according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for its attachment.
- Feedthroughs of this type are customary in the conventional electric hotplates with hotplate bodies made of cast material and are known, for example, from DE-B-1 291 032. These lead-through pieces have a circumferential shoulder with which they are pressed by the cover plate against the underside of the embedding including the heating. As a result, they are in thermal contact with the heating and heat up relatively quickly.
- lead-through pieces have already become known which were only held by the wires penetrating them and were not supported directly on the embedding.
- the assembly had to be done by hand threading the grommets onto the leads and sliding them into position before threading the cover plate over the grommet and then securing it.
- This assembly was very complex and could not be automated.
- the object of the invention is to provide a bushing which, with comparable electrical and mechanical safety and strength, enables easier and possibly automatic assembly.
- the bushing can first be attached to the cover plate, which can then be inserted together with the bushing with the ends of the connecting lines, which usually consist of solid wire.
- the feed-through piece is a relatively flat, plate-shaped piece, which is preferably attached to the lid by means of bent retaining tabs, and a very substantial one Distance from the bottom of the heater. As a result, the bushing also has a relatively low thermal mass.
- connection piece should always have direct thermal contact with the underside of the heating in order to heat up quickly and to avoid that moisture condenses on the bushing in the heating phase and impermissibly impairs electrical safety (leakage currents). It has been shown that this does not occur in the invention, which is obviously due to the plate shape with a relatively large area facing the heating compared to the thermal mass.
- Automatic assembly can be carried out according to a preferred method according to claim 9 are automatically installed by automatically connecting and disconnecting the connecting cables after attaching the grommet to the end cover using a gripper, so that the leadthrough can be threaded together with the end cover.
- an electric hotplate 11 is partially shown, which has a hotplate body 12 made of cast iron with an upper closed, flat cooking surface 13 and a peripheral, downward flange-like edge 14 surrounding the edge area.
- a hotplate body 12 made of cast iron with an upper closed, flat cooking surface 13 and a peripheral, downward flange-like edge 14 surrounding the edge area.
- heating resistors 16 consisting of wire helices 16 are arranged in spirally arranged grooves 15 in an originally pourable, compressed, electrically insulating investment compound 17. You are over the investment pins projecting pins 18 connected to leads 19 which consist of solid wires.
- the underside of the hotplate is closed off by an end cover 20 made of deformed sheet metal, which is supported on the edge 14 and closes off an interior space 21 below the heating, which is usually annular.
- a bushing 22 is attached, which is made of highly heat-resistant insulating material, such as steatite. It has the shape of an elongated, plate-shaped body with rounded narrow sides 23. It is supported by a circumferential shoulder 24 (FIG. 4) in the region of an opening 25 of the end cover, which has an indentation 26 that is stamped towards the hotplate body 12 at this point.
- the lead-through piece 22 does not protrude downward over the lower edge 27 of the edge or the end cover 20 lying thereon, and the connecting wires guided through the lead-through piece 22 are still above this lower edge. This is very important for the packaging for transport.
- the lead-through piece 22 has a plurality of, in the present example four lead-through openings 28 in the form of round or oval holes lying in a row, which run from the inner flat side 29 to the outer flat side 30 and have funnel-shaped insertion bevels 31 on their inner sides, ie facing the hotplate body 12 .
- groove-like or groove-like depressions 32 are provided transversely to the longitudinal extent of the lead-through piece 22, in which, as shown, the connecting lines 19 which are bent on the underside of the hotplate towards the circumference are guided and are guided. This also reduces the overall height.
- the bushing 22 On the two narrow sides 23, the bushing 22 has rectangular recesses 33, which extend from the lower flat side 30 to slightly above the height of the shoulder 24 and reach into the bushing so far that the stepped, inner part of the bushing is engaged. In these recesses 33 retaining tabs 34 of the end cover are bent and thus fix the grommet directly on the end cover, d. H. without having to rely on connecting lines, the hotplate body or the like. indirect holding means.
- the connecting lines 19, in the present case 4 are welded to the connecting pins 18 and protrude through the through openings 28 and are then bent towards the outer edge of the hotplate.
- the bushing 22 When installing the hotplate, the bushing 22 is first attached to the end cover 20. At the edge of the opening 25, the two retaining tabs 34 are formed, but bent outwards (below), so that the stepped part of the lead-through piece 22 can be passed freely through the opening above the shoulder. This can be done automatically by means of appropriate gripping devices. On the gripping device 35 carrying the grommet 22, which is indicated by dash-dotted lines, stamps 36 can be provided which are pushed upward after the insertion of the grommet 22 into the opening 25 and thereby flip the retaining tabs 34 so that they are in the position according to FIG 1 come and hold the bushing 22 on the end cover 20 directly in cooperation with the shoulder 24. Insertion bevels 37 facilitate the merging.
- the thus pre-assembled unit cover 20 / bushing 22 is in turn gripped by a gripper, not shown, and brought together with the hotplate. At that point, they were still vertical connecting lines 19 standing away from the hotplate are also gripped by a gripper which aligns the four lines at their ends to one another and holds them in this aligned position.
- the orientation corresponds to the arrangement of the feed-through openings 28, which, supported by the insertion funnel 31, can be easily and automatically brought together.
- the end plate is fastened in the usual manner, for example by means of a central bolt which is screwed into a corresponding cast projection and the ends of the connecting lines 19 are bent into the position shown in the drawing, where they lie relatively close above the end cover 20.
- the connecting lines 19 are so long that they extend close to or beyond the hotplate circumference. However, they can also be made so short that they protrude only slightly from the lead-through openings 28 and are welded there to other feed lines instead of being bent over. These supply lines then lie next to the connecting lines 19 on the unimpeded lower surface 30, ie on ribs which form between the depressions 32. This ensures a certain electrical safety distance between the feed lines and the end plate 20.
- connection lines end within the hotplate edge.
- the lead-through piece and the method for manufacturing is also ideally suited for longer connecting lines, because the ends are gripped and aligned anyway by a gripper and then after the threading and opening and pulling back of the gripper, the end cover is automatically in the correct position falls.
- the lead-through piece 22, as described is firmly and directly attached to the end cover. It can be seen that the end piece has significantly smaller dimensions and, above all, a lower thermal mass compared to those according to the prior art, so that it is easy to get to the temperature required to rule out condensation.
- the space between the bushing and the underside 40 of the hotplate body is free and large enough to be able to lay the rigid connecting lines unhindered. So you do not have to lay around parts of the bushing.
- the feed-through piece can even be displaced in the direction of the hotplate body in order to create an arrangement which does not project downwards over the edge 27.
- the bushing itself that steatite is made of the relatively expensive and difficult-to-process insulating material, is simple to design and saves material in a simply divided form.
- the thickness of the bushing is less than a third, preferably only a fifth of the total length.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a bushing according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for its attachment.
Feedthroughs of this type are customary in the conventional electric hotplates with hotplate bodies made of cast material and are known, for example, from DE-B-1 291 032. These lead-through pieces have a circumferential shoulder with which they are pressed by the cover plate against the underside of the embedding including the heating. As a result, they are in thermal contact with the heating and heat up relatively quickly.
On the other hand, lead-through pieces have already become known which were only held by the wires penetrating them and were not supported directly on the embedding.
From DE-A1-33 01 219 and DE-C3-26 20 004, a hotplate with a feed-through piece has become known, which is also supported by a shoulder on a bottle on the end cover, but without on the underside of the heating of the Hotplate body to be pressed. It is only held by the connecting cables.
In any case, the assembly had to be done by hand threading the grommets onto the leads and sliding them into position before threading the cover plate over the grommet and then securing it. This assembly was very complex and could not be automated.
The object of the invention is to provide a bushing which, with comparable electrical and mechanical safety and strength, enables easier and possibly automatic assembly.
This object is achieved by the characterizing part of claim 1.
Now the bushing can first be attached to the cover plate, which can then be inserted together with the bushing with the ends of the connecting lines, which usually consist of solid wire. The feed-through piece is a relatively flat, plate-shaped piece, which is preferably attached to the lid by means of bent retaining tabs, and a very substantial one Distance from the bottom of the heater. As a result, the bushing also has a relatively low thermal mass.
So far it had been assumed that the connection piece should always have direct thermal contact with the underside of the heating in order to heat up quickly and to avoid that moisture condenses on the bushing in the heating phase and impermissibly impairs electrical safety (leakage currents). It has been shown that this does not occur in the invention, which is obviously due to the plate shape with a relatively large area facing the heating compared to the thermal mass.
Automatic assembly can be carried out according to a preferred method according to claim 9 are automatically installed by automatically connecting and disconnecting the connecting cables after attaching the grommet to the end cover using a gripper, so that the leadthrough can be threaded together with the end cover.
Further advantages and features of the invention are explained in more detail in the subclaims and the following description in connection with the drawing, wherein individual features alone or in combination can result in advantageous designs and can also be used advantageously in other applications.

In Fig. 1, an
The underside of the hotplate is closed off by an
On the
The lead-through
On the two
The connecting
When installing the hotplate, the
The thus pre-assembled
In the present example, the connection lines end within the hotplate edge. The lead-through piece and the method for manufacturing is also ideally suited for longer connecting lines, because the ends are gripped and aligned anyway by a gripper and then after the threading and opening and pulling back of the gripper, the end cover is automatically in the correct position falls. For this purpose, however, it is necessary that the lead-through
