Description

The present invention relates to the technical sector of handling and lifting of loads located on the surface of the water, called floating loads in the remainder of the text, from a ship or a floating platform.

It is known that lifting heavy or bulky loads or objects requires difficult and dangerous maneuvers, in particular in the event of shelling in heavy seas, and especially when the floating load is not itself equipped with a carrying cable. can be used to facilitate its handling: this is the case for example of certain buoys or of guided and self-propelled machines. We can then attempt to recover these floating charges only with hoists and rope systems that are difficult to implement. Maneuvering of a handling aid cable by means of poles and hooks carried out manually is therefore only possible for movements of the vessel of small amplitude and only in the case where the difference in height between the plane working on the ship and the water surface is relatively limited. It is the same for more complex systems using ropes actuated by hoists.

Patent FR 2 152 886 describes a device for lifting large buoys on a ship, which may consist of a cable forming a loop, one end of which is fixed to the deck and the other end of which is operated by an associated winch. to a lifting mast swiveling in a horizontal plane. The cable loop encloses the buoy until it engages on the peripheral hooks of the buoy. The disadvantage of this device then lies in the fact that it requires, before the final lifting stage, to firmly clamp the buoy along the ship: it cannot be used in the handling of floating loads having an external structure relatively fragile.

Furthermore, specific devices are also known for the recovery of a determined type of floating charges, with a fragile structure, such as torpedoes for example. Thus, patent FR 2 073 192 shows a device for the recovery of a torpedo, comprising an envelope, playing the role of basket, of adapted and profiled shape, in particular in its front part, to be maneuvered so as to come to grip the torpedo to be raised. This kind of device has of course the disadvantage of not being versatile.

Also, the present invention aims to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above, by proposing a device for handling and lifting various floating loads having different external configurations, without constraining the mechanical structures of these loads to forces which would be harmful to them, while allowing these maneuvers to be carried out in a simple manner and without risks for operators.

The present invention therefore relates to a method of assisting in the handling of a floating load, in particular from a ship, characterized in that it consists, between a known handling step comprising towing and / or positioning relative to the load with respect to the ship, and a known handling step comprising lifting the load on the ship, in a step of positioning and hooking the floating load, provided with a hooking member in its part upper, relative to a halyard stretched over the surface of the water between the ends of at least two arms articulated relative to the ship. After attaching the load for lifting it, the halyard can be separated from the ends of the arms between which it was stretched.

The invention also relates to a device for assisting in the handling of a floating load for the implementation of the above method at the rear of a ship equipped with towing and lifting means, characterized in that that it comprises two arms, located on either side of the towing and lifting means, each of these arms having one end mounted on an articulation member fixed to the rear of the ship, and one end equipped with a float and a means for securing a halyard, the halyard being stretched between the floating ends of each of these arms.

Another object of the invention is a device for assisting in the handling of a floating load for the implementation of the above method on the side of a ship equipped with a lifting means, characterized in that '' It comprises at least two arms, each of these arms having one end mounted on a common articulation member, fixed laterally with respect to the hull, and one end fitted with a float and with a means for securing a halyard, the halyard being stretched between the floating ends of each of the arms, preferably mounted in a loop at the end of the lifting means.

Thus, the method and the device for assisting in the handling of floating loads according to the invention make it possible, using robust mechanical systems of simple construction, to safely tension a halyard between two floats situated at the ends of articulated poles, which can also be light and flexible for hooking a floating load, itself provided with a hooking member, without requiring the presence of a carrying cable, then, after having released the recovery points of the halyard, rewind it by a lifting means before the actual lifting step, for example by a handling head of known type.

Other advantages will appear on reading the following description, without limitation, of embodiments for the implementation of the handling assistance method according to the invention, with reference to the drawing in which:
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic elevation view of a device according to the invention placed at the rear of a ship, while
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of this same variant,
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic elevation view of a device according to the invention placed laterally with respect to the ship, while
  • - Figure 4 is a top view of this second embodiment.

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the recovery from the rear of the building 1 is suitable for floating loads such as vehicles equipped with a towing cable which makes it possible to control the position between the vehicle and the platform 11.

The device according to the invention consists of a halyard 3 wound in duplicate on the winch drum fitted to the transfer system or handling head 5 which is used in particular for lifting the load.

Two arms, for example flexible and light poles 4, held by supports orientable in the horizontal plane, allow the adjustment of the intercept, that is to say the spacing of their ends, the halyard being taut on the surface of the water by the flexibility of the poles. Each wet end has a release device 41, for example a hook operated by a rope 41 a, fixed along or inside the pole, and terminated by a handle which releases the halyard and a capacity 42 which ensures the flotation of the arm at launch. The poles can be made for example of glass fibers.

This variant of the handling aid device is implemented as follows.

In a first phase the handling head 5 is brought to the rear and to the axis of the building. The halyard emerging from the winch, in loop form, is mounted on the ends of the poles which are then stored on the deck.

In a second phase, the sonar 2 is brought to the rear of the building using the towing cable 7. The handling head is brought into position for recovery, cantilevered at the rear of the building . The arms or poles 4 are put in the water and locked on the adjustable supports 43 the halyard 3 is stretched between the ends of the poles. The floats 42 rest on the surface of the water and transmit the swell movements to the poles articulated around their axis of rotation 44, the flexibility of the poles ensuring the tension of the halyard.

Then, third phase, the sonar 2 is pulled on the rear so that the hook 21 catches the halyard 3 stretched between the poles, and which is then secured to the hook, for example by closing a latch.

In a fourth phase, the halyard 3 is released from the pole ends 4 by a release system 41. The winch of the handling head 5 raises the sonar 2 and immobilizes it on the defenses.

The poles 4 are raised, for example manually, using ropes 61 previously attached to these poles, and are stored on the deck.

Finally, in a fifth and final phase, the handling head 5 is brought back to the deck. The winch releases the sonar 2 which is placed on a handling trolley. The halyard 3 is released from the hook 21 and the towing cable 7 is released from the sonar 2. Preferably, the lightness of the poles allows their manual manipulation, but my lifting means with motorization can be used to maneuver arms which would be more rigid and heavier.

Figures 3 and 4 show the handling assistance device applied to the recovery of a vehicle by the side of a stationary boat or platform, when it cannot take place aft of the building (risk of knocks on the rear, proximity of the propellers, and ...) this process allows recovery from the side and is particularly suitable for lifting wire-guided loads.

The device has two holding arms 4a and 4b, articulated around an axis 44 integral with the shell 1 which can move simultaneously in a vertical plane. The arm closest to the hull 4a can only move in a plane parallel to the axis of the building; the other 4b can be moved away from the previous one thanks to a jack 43 thus ensuring the tension of a halyard strand 3 coming out of the crane head 8 and passing through the wet ends of the two arms 4a and 4b. The latter also comprise a release device which releases the halyard, and a capacity 42 which ensures the flotation of the arm when it is launched.

Les opérations se déroulent alors comme suit. The operations then take place as follows.

In a first phase the crane 8 is brought so as to pass, manually, on the bridge, the halyard 3 on the ends of the holding arms.

In a second phase, the arms, or poles, 4a and 4b are released from their hull attachments and unfolded in the water, one deviating from the other thanks to the jack 43 provided for this purpose. Crane 8 descends simultaneously. The two arms rest on the water in contact with their floats 42. The halyard strand is then stretched horizontally over the surface of the water, due to the flexibility of the arms.

During the third phase, the guided vehicle 2 is caused to pass between the two floats 42 so that the hook 21 which it carries in the upper part comes to catch the horizontal halyard strand 3 which remains trapped. If the fish guide wire is broken, the vessel should move slowly to bring the strand into contact with the inert fish hook.

Then, a tension can be exerted on the two oblique strands of halyard which are released from the ends 41 of arm, or the hooks can be operated by a rope 41 a, and the sonar is then reassembled, plated and maintained against the defenses.

During a fifth phase, in known manner, the assembly is then reassembled and after rotation the crane 8 deposits the sonar in the cradle of a carriage mounted on rails.

Enfin, les deux bras sont alors remontés à l'aide d'un moyen de levage, éventuellement manuellement, et amarrés le long de la coque 1 sur des supports de fixation 13.Finally, the two arms are then reassembled using a lifting means, possibly manually, and moored along the hull 1 on fixing supports 13.
