Description

DE-C-641 184 décrit un outil de ce type et correspond ou préamble de la revendication 1.There is already known a tool for cutting earthenware plates, sandstone or the like, such as earthenware tiles, consisting of an elongated body having first and second ends, each of which is provided with a blow tip. DE-C-641 184 describes a tool of this type and corresponds or to the preamble of claim 1.

In a manner also known, in particular from GB-A-1 270 599, a handle can be arranged, in the case of a tool provided with a cutting tip at only one of its ends, at the second end of said tool. According to this prior art, the handle has a unique function of gripping the tool, and is removably attached to said end opposite the cutting tip, without being able to be fixed to the end provided with the cutting tip, and therefore without being able to protect said cutting tip or the user of the tool.

The invention intends to remedy this lack of protection of the cutting tips of a tool with two cutting tips and provides for this purpose that each end of said tool is provided with a removable fixing device, such as a thread, 'a grip handle.

Les avantageuses dispositions suivantes sont, en outre, de préférence adoptées:The following advantageous arrangements are also preferably adopted:

de manière connue en soi, ladite poignée est conformée en un bec de saisie de la lisière d'une dite plaque de faïence, de grès ou d'un matériau analogue;in a manner known per se, said handle is shaped like a grasp for catching the edge of a said earthenware plate, of sandstone or of a similar material;

It is also indicated that, in the present patent, the name "cutting tip" covers the tapered tips proper, the cutting prisms, the cutting inserts of the tools called "tracettes", which equip ceramic cutting tools , tiles, sandstone and similar materials.

The invention will be better understood, and secondary characteristics and their advantages will appear during the description of embodiments given below by way of example.

It is understood that the description and the drawings are given for information only and are not limiting.

  • la figure 1 est une vue "éclatée" d'une première réalisation d'un outil conforme à l'invention;
  • la figure 2 est une vue de l'outil de la figure 1, en configuration active de coupe;
Reference will be made to the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is an "exploded" view of a first embodiment of a tool according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a view of the tool of Figure 1, in active cutting configuration;
  • Figure 3 is a view of a second embodiment of a tool according to the invention in its active configuration; and,
  • Figure 4 is a view of a third embodiment of a tool according to the invention, in a configuration in which the two cutting tips are protected (and inactive).

  • une première pointe de coupe 5, distinct de la premièr extrémité 3, sertie sur celle-ci et réalisée en carbure de tungstène;
  • une deuxième pointe de coupe 6, distincte de la deuxième extrémité 4, sertie sur celle-ci et réalisée en carbure de tungstène;
  • des premier 7 et deuxième 8 filetages, ménagés sur les parties cylindriques du corps 1 proches desdites première et deuxième extrémités, respectivement;
The tool of Figures 1 and 2 consists of:
  • a body 1, made of steel, of elongated shape, generally cylindrical, the middle part of which is provided with non-slip grooves 2, and which comprises a first end 3 and a second end 4.
  • a first cutting point 5, distinct from the first end 3, crimped thereon and made of tungsten carbide;
  • a second cutting tip 6, distinct from the second end 4, crimped thereon and made of tungsten carbide;
  • first 7 and second 8 threads, formed on the cylindrical parts of the body 1 close to said first and second ends, respectively;
  • a single handle 9, which has a threaded bore 10, capable of cooperating with either of the threads 7 and 8, and has generally rounded shapes.

The cutting points could, as a variant, be in one piece with the body 1, although it is often preferred to produce them separately from said body 1 and to attach them to the body 1 later.

Par ailleurs, les filetages 7, 8 et le taraudage 10, efficaces pour fixer la poignée 9 à l'une ou à l'autre des extrémités 3 et 4 du corps 1, pourraient être remplacés, en variante, par tout autre dispositif de fixation amovible de la poignée (encliquetage élastique, goupille, ou analogue).Furthermore, the threads 7, 8 and the internal thread 10, effective for fixing the handle 9 to one or the other of the ends 3 and 4 of the body 1, could be replaced, as a variant, by any other fixing device. removable from the handle (elastic snap, pin, or the like).

Figure 2 shows the tool in its configuration of use, in which the second cutting tip 6 is active, the hand 11 of a user having a good grip of the tool, by the grip and thanks to the protection of the handle 9, which avoids possible injuries of the hand by the first cutting tip precisely contained inside this handle.

The embodiment of FIG. 3 is identical to that of FIGS. 1 and 2, and comprises two cutting points, except as regards the shape of the handle 19. The latter is screwed onto the thread 7 of the first end of the body 1 and protects the first cutting tip -. In contrast to its tapped bore 20, this handle is provided with a groove 21, which extends substantially perpendicular to the axis of the body 1 and which constitutes a sort of grasp for catching the edge 22 of a tile earthenware 23.

The latter, previously cut into two parts 24 and 25, separated by a cutting line 26, by means of the second cutting point 6, the groove 21 makes it possible to grasp the edge 22 of the part 24 of the tile, which makes possible, by a tilting movement around the cutting line 26, the separation of the two parts 24, 25 of the tile.

Bien entendu, l'opération de coupe au moyen de la deuxième pointe de coupe 6 et de la poignée 19 est analogue à celle effectuée avec l'outil des figures 1 et 2.Of course, the cutting operation by means of the second cutting tip 6 and of the handle 19 is similar to that carried out with the tool of FIGS. 1 and 2.

The tool of figure 4 is identical to that of Figure 3, supplemented by the addition of the handle 9 (that of the tool of Figures 1 and 2), which is, in the configuration shown, screwed onto the thread 8 of the second end of the body 1 and which surrounds and masks the second cutting tip.

Ainsi, avec l'outil de la figure 4:Thus, with the tool in Figure 4:

lorsque l'une des pointes de coupe est découverte, la poignée correspondante 9 ou 19 étant enlevée, l'utilisateur peut tenir bien en main l'outil et la poignée restante, et couper le carreau de faïence avec la pointe de coupe découverte;when one of the cutting points is discovered, the corresponding handle 9 or 19 being removed, the user can hold the tool and the remaining handle well in hand, and cut the earthenware tile with the uncovered cutting point;

avec les deux poignées mises en place dans la configuration de protection des pointes de coupe, l'utilisateur peut soit séparer les deux parties du carreau de faïence, sans risque de se blesser avec la pointe de coupe opposée à la rainure 21, du fait de la présence de la poignée 9, soit, désirant seulement transporter l'outil, sans l'utiliser, le placer dans n'importe quel endroit où, de toute façon, cet outil ne risquera pas, ni de détériorer l'environnement, ni d'avoir ses deux pointes de coupe détériorées, puisque toutes deux sont protégées par les poignées amovibles 9 et 19.with the two handles in place in the protection configuration of the cutting tips, the user can either separate the two parts of the earthenware tile, without risk of injury with the cutting tip opposite the groove 21, due to the presence of the handle 9, or, wishing only to transport the tool, without using it, place it in any place where, in any case, this tool will not risk, neither damage the environment, nor d '' have its two damaged cutting tips, since both are protected by removable handles 9 and 19.

Enfin, la même possibilité existe évidemment avec la réalisation de la figure 4.Of course, with each of the three embodiments shown, when one of the cutting tips is worn, the user instantly has at his disposal a new spare cutting tip. It suffices, in the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, to screw the handle, no longer on the thread 7, but on the thread 8, to hide the second cutting tip 6, and, on the contrary, unmask the first cutting tip. section 5. In the embodiment of FIG. 3, it suffices to move the handle 19 to screw it onto the thread 8. Finally, the same possibility obviously exists with the embodiment of FIG. 4.
