Abstract
Description
The development of motor vehicles with a good aerodynamic coefficient has led in particular to headlights of low height with a strongly inclined lens. In order to achieve such a low-height headlamp, which consequently also have low-height reflectors, which are required by the regulations and which also require the luminous fluxes required for using the vehicle under optimal safety conditions, it has been proposed to design the reflector by means of several reflecting sectors, each are generated by rotating curves of at least a second degree around the optical axis of the reflector. These curves are chosen in such a way that at least two optical quadric sections of large parameters and largest volume corresponding to the largest opening width of the headlamp and vertically at least two optical quadric sections of small parameters are obtained, which allow a maximum value of light volume that can be used in the reduced opening height of the headlamp.
These known reflectors mainly have the disadvantage of a limited optical efficiency because the connection areas between the offset sectors formed in this way are not used.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of these known headlights with offset sectors with the aid of a novel headlight which has an optimal optical efficiency at a low height.
For this purpose, the invention relates to an extra-flat headlight for motor vehicles, which comprises at least one reflector, a light source and a transparent cover plate, through which the light rays emitted by the source and reflected by the reflector pass, characterized in that the reflector has an upper and / or or lower region, which is formed by a plurality of evolutes of at least second degree, which progressively change from a small parameter corresponding to the available height of the reflector in the headlight to a large parameter corresponding to the curve, which is a reflection over the entire width of the largest opening of the headlight guaranteed.
The use of evolutes, in particular conic sections, to produce the reflector enables all the connection areas and, as a result, the Preservation of an optimal optical efficiency, since such a headlight uses an effective angle of the emitted light which is equal to or even larger than that of a paraboloid of revolution, the surface line of which would be the conic section with a large parameter.
In a preferred embodiment, which enables the production of a shape based on flat surface elements and the practical preservation of a high-quality optical polish, the invention provides that the reflector comprises a plurality of surface elements lying next to one another, the normal of which at the center of curvature with the normal of a rotational cone therein Point coincides, which has the same parameter as the basic curve of the evolute base area passing through this point.
In one embodiment of the invention, the foci of the evolute coincide.

- - Figure 2 is a side view of the development of the basic shape of the reflector in Figure 1, clamped in the plane corresponding to the vertical focal plane, and
- - Figure 3 is a developed view of the section along the line hh in Figure 1.
In Figure 1, the reflector is divided into
- im oberen rechten Sektor 3₂ die Entwicklung einer Evolute der progressiven parabolischen Grundbezugssysteme, die von der vertikalen optischen Diametralebene yʹy in monotoner Weise alle Evolutionsgrade der Meridianebene zur Diagonalebene der Schnittstelle d₁ zum regelmäßigen seitlichen Parabelsektor 2 mit großem Parameter y²=nx durchlaufen;
- im oberen linken Sektor 3₁ ein grober Verlauf der Entwicklung der gesamten Reflexionsrichtungsfacetten, die die innere Reflexionsfläche des Scheinwerferreflektors bilden sollen;
For better understanding, this figure also shows the following:
- In the upper right sector 3₂ the development of an evolution of the progressive parabolic basic reference systems, from the vertical optical diametrical plane yʹy in a monotonous manner all degrees of evolution of the meridian plane to the diagonal plane of the interface d₁ to the regular lateral parabolic sector 2 with large Run through parameter y² = nx;
- In the upper left sector 3 ₁ a rough course of the development of the entire reflection direction facets, which are to form the inner reflection surface of the headlight reflector;
- outside the outline of the front light opening of the reflector shown in thick lines, the approximate development of the progressive transformation of the effective volume, described by the intersection of the extension of each parabolic meridian basic reference system curve of the corresponding upper sector of the reflector with its front opening plane.
In Figur 2 sind dargestellt:
- eine Mehrzahl parabolischer Meridian-Bezugssysteme des Parameters y²=40x bis y²=nx, die die allgemeine Form der Evolutengrundfläche des Reflektors erzeugen, auf der die Lagen und Ausrichtungen der verschiedenen Facetten der Reflexionsfläche zu bestimmen sind;
- vergleichsweise an den Grenzen der nutzbaren Aufnahme-/Reflexionsflächen, die bestimmt werden durch den Durchmesser der Lampenöffnung 5 zur Ausrüstung des Reflektors und die oberen und unteren Abbruchebenen P₁P₂ welche die Höhe der Reflexionsquadrik des Projektors mindern, eine schematische Funktionsanordnung von Teilen der Facetten, die nach ihrer dargestellten charakteristischen Lage und Ausrichtung in der gleichen Richtung R, im wesentlichen parallel zur optischen Achse xʹx, alle Strahlen reflektieren, die vom Glühfaden der Lampe ausgesandt werden, die im gemeinsamen Brennpunkt F der realisierten sich ergebenden reflektierenden Evolutenquadrik angeordnet ist, und in diesen Punkten alle Rotationspababel-Bezugssysteme eingefangen und zurückgeworfen haben würden, die äquivalent sind den entsprechenden Elementarevoluten der Grunddefinition, die durch die orthogonale Medianebene einer jeden Facette in bezug auf die dargestellte Lage/Ausrichtung gehen;
a plurality of parabolic meridian reference systems of the parameter y² = 40x to y² = nx, which produce the general shape of the evolute base of the reflector on which the positions and orientations of the various facets of the reflection surface are to be determined;
- Comparatively at the limits of the usable recording / reflection surfaces, which are determined by the diameter of the lamp opening 5 for equipping the reflector and the upper and lower termination levels P₁P₂ which reduce the height of the reflection quadrice of the projector, a schematic functional arrangement of parts of the facets according to their characteristic position and orientation shown in the same direction R, substantially parallel to the optical Axis xʹx, reflect all rays emitted by the filament of the lamp located at the common focal point F of the resulting reflective evolute quadrant, and at which points would have captured and reflected all of the rotation Babylonian reference systems that are equivalent to the corresponding elementary evolutes of the Basic definition that go through the orthogonal median plane of each facet with respect to the position / orientation shown;
- The angular gain of the effective volume, which can be achieved with a reflective upper sector, which is determined by a facetization arranged after the progressive generation of parabolic reference systems taken as an example and which is simply limited to that achieved in the vertical focal plane y'y of the reflector Gain compared to the angle of the initial volume that would be obtained in a paraboloid with a large parameter y² = nx by the rear boundary beam C₁ (which runs directly above the
In each of the meridian planes, which run for connection to the reflecting side sectors with
54°.In the example shown, the angles α and β are essentially 35 ° and 54 °, respectively.
The view in FIG. 3 is designed such that from one side it represents approximately the development of a non-limited example of a basic network with a monotonously running parabolic surface, on which, as shown from the other side, the entirety of the facets with a small optical polishing surface is based, which finally form the reflective inner surface of at least the upper sector 3 of the reflector. It is obvious that the outer surface of the refector, which has no optical function, preferably essentially follows a different thread construction than the monotonically running surface of the basic definition and that it differs from this in particular by the thickness of the wall, taking into account the different positions / orientations of the inner facets, the inherent processing errors of the molded part and the various profiles of the fasteners - assembly and adjustment according to the requirements of the installation and the adaptation of the reflector in the headlight to be manufactured.
