An anti-drilling protector for the actuating elements (7) of positioning bar fittings (1) for windows or doors or the like, the protector comprising a flat plate which is made of hardened steel or sintered steel or hard ceramic or the like and which is introducible on the outside of the actuating elements (7) into the mortice (14) in the door or window frame member (15), the edge contour of such plate being adapted to the contour of the mortice (14), the plate (17) being directly engageable on the outer lateral surface of the lock casing (6) and being adapted to bear by way of a longitudinal edge (18) on the back of the face plate (2) or a base part (19) of the lock casing (6), characterised in that stays (20, 22) project at right angles from the plate side surface near the actuating elements (7) or near the lock casing (6) receiving the same and have end parts (21) or a plate (23) respectively, a thin disc or a flat head, and the end parts (21) or plates (23) respectively, discs or heads of the stays (20, 22) engage behind bearing surfaces on the actuating elements (7) or casing (6) respectively.
2. A protector according to claim 1, characterised in that the stays (20, 21) are in the form of projections or tongues or the like which are bent up from the plane of the plate (17) and which have end parts (21) bent at right-angles.
3. A protector according to claim 1, characterised by two plates (17, 23) whose contours register with one another and which are interconnected in spaced relationship to one another by spacer pins (22), one plate (17) being made of the hardened steel or sintered steel or hard ceramic or the like while the other plate (23) forms with the spacer pins (22) the stays (22, 23) and has apertures (25, 24) for the rose-fixing screws (12), the square end (10) of a bearing rose (9) and operating handle (8) disposed in the rose (9).
