Description

The invention relates to a device for covering tennis courts with a stretched tarpaulin, the tarpaulin being slidably suspended on the long sides of the tennis court.

Tennis is now practiced mainly on open air courts. The game is played on tennis courts with a blanket made of red brick powder or ground red natural stone, plastic, asphalt or concrete or lawn. Although such tennis courts have drainage, they are usually unplayable for a long time after rainfall. This is particularly noticeable with the first and the last-mentioned blankets. As tennis is becoming increasingly popular, there is a great need for effective coverage that is easy to use. This applies in particular to tournament events where the competitions have to be carried out on time.

So far, simple tarpaulins have been used, which are rolled out on the tennis court when it rains. With this procedure, it is particularly disadvantageous that the deposited amounts of liquid accumulate on the tarpaulin, since they do not run off by themselves. So it is almost inevitable that the previously known tarpaulins are rolled in damp and that liquid runs off on the tennis court.

A device for covering tennis courts has also become known, in which a tarpaulin is stretched out on a rope which is stretched between masts on the end faces of the tennis court. The tarpaulin is fixed on the long sides of the tennis court, so that there is a tent-shaped roof on which the rainwater runs off to the side.

This device is particularly complex to handle. First of all, the network must be dismantled so that the rope can be laid over the court and then the tarpaulin can be rolled out from the long sides over the tennis court. Several people are required just to roll out the tarpaulin. Then the tarpaulin must be fixed on the long sides of the tennis court. Finally, the rope is hung in the masts, the boxes are erected and the tarpaulin is pulled up by actuating a crank mechanism on one of the masts. It is understandable that even a well-rehearsed team needs almost half an hour to set up this device. It is also disadvantageous that the moisture cannot escape from the rolled-up tarpaulin, which means that it becomes unsightly and rots after a short time.

Proceeding from this, the invention has for its object to provide a device for covering tennis courts, on which the water drains out, which can be assembled and dismantled more easily and quickly and which dries quickly, even if it does not cover the tennis court.

For the technical solution to this problem, a generic device is proposed, with rails arranged on the long sides of the tennis court, carriages guided on the rails, on which the tarpaulin is suspended, and the tarpaulin lifting supports between the rails.

In the case of a device according to the invention, the tarpaulin is in the ready position on the front sides of the tennis court, it being folded in a meandering manner between adjacent carriages and the ground. In the standby position, it takes up little space, but it does Surface for drying is exposed. When it starts to rain, the tarpaulin can be pulled out over the tennis court with little effort, since it is guided on the running rails with little friction on the running rails. The running rails are in turn so spaced from the surface of the square that the somewhat sagging tarpaulin does not drag on the floor and the network can be easily overcome. As soon as the tarpaulin completely covers the tennis court, it is raised with the supports until it no longer forms troughs in which rainwater collects. This is achieved when the tarpaulin is arranged at all points between longitudinally offset supports above the carriage. Then the rainwater can run laterally between the longitudinal supports in the direction of the running rails and it runs between the supports and the front sides of the tennis court, both laterally towards the running rails and towards the front sides.

It is particularly advantageous that a device according to the invention can be handled easily and effectively drains off precipitation, it being possible to move it back to the ready position immediately after precipitation, since it dries quickly there. The device is inexpensive because the tarpaulin practically does not rot. In addition, it can be attached organically and inconspicuously to a tennis court, especially if the running tracks are integrated into the side fences.

In one embodiment of the invention, the tarpaulin is formed in two parts, so that it can be pulled over the two halves of the space with little effort. An overlap area must be provided in the middle of the tennis court for sealing.

Normally the tarpaulin remains in the ready position as well as in the extended position, because of its great weight and that of the supports applied tension resists the influence of wind forces. However, it is particularly advantageous if the tarpaulin is fixed to the end faces of the tennis court, since it is then forced everywhere into a shape that cannot be destroyed even by strong gusts of wind. This can be done in a particularly simple manner with ground anchors. If the tarpaulin can also be fixed on the running rails, it can be prevented that it closes or opens automatically for the aforementioned reasons.

Before the tarpaulin is moved back to the ready position, the supports are spindled down so that they sag everywhere between the running rails. If the tracks are only aligned horizontally, the covering tarpaulin in the ready position between adjacent carriages and the tracks takes the form of troughs that sag in the middle. This can cause rainwater to collect in the middle of the tarpaulin. In addition, the front view of the tennis court is obstructed. This can be avoided if the running rails at the front of the tennis court run out in bends that point towards the court surface. This means that in the ready position the tarpaulin lies everywhere on the floor between the running rails, and is fanned out on the lowered carriages. The arch pieces are expediently fastened and closed on the tennis court with base plates.

In a further embodiment, all the carriages are arranged outside the curved pieces when the tarpaulin is completely spread out over the tennis court. This prevents the tarpaulin from being thrown up in the region of the curved pieces.

In order to gently introduce a uniform support force into the tarpaulin, the supports are arranged on the two T-points of the tennis court and have a convex contact surface to the tarpaulin.

If the supports are height adjustable, they can be set up on the tennis court before the tarpaulin is extended and the tarpaulin can be raised more easily. If the supports can be screwed up, lifting the tarpaulin is made even easier. For this purpose, the supports have a lower punch with an external thread on the top, an elongated hole which is arranged in the external thread in the longitudinal direction of the support, a clamping device which can be screwed onto the external thread, an upper stamp with bores inserted into the lower stamp and a fixing bolt which extends into the elongated hole and is inserted into the bore and rests on the clamping device.

In order to guide the carriages safely on the long sides, they are inserted in running rails. The running rails can have a C-profile with inner shoulders adjacent to the longitudinal slot, which is protected against the ingress of rainwater when the longitudinal slots are facing the tennis court and are arranged horizontally or inclined to the horizontal.

The carriages are supported on the inner shoulders with rollers so that the clamping force is evenly distributed in the running rails. For this purpose, four rollers are preferably mounted on the housing of the carriage. To reduce the lateral forces on the rollers, the carriages have guide rollers, which preferably engage on the two end faces of the housing, which engage in the longitudinal slot of the rails. For this purpose, eyes can be welded to the end faces of the housing, into which bearing bolts are inserted, which carry guide rollers.

In a further embodiment, the carriages with the housing protrude from the running rails and the cover tarpaulin is attached to the protruding section of the housing, as a result of which the cover tarpaulin can be attached particularly easily. The clamping force is introduced particularly evenly into the tarpaulin if the housing has a flange and the tarpaulin is screwed between this and a plate. It is particularly cheap To provide the flange and the plate with four aligned holes.

In order to reduce the load on the tarpaulin due to hanging forces and to support its uniform folding in the standby position, it can have sinusoidal sides and be hung on the carriage with the Maxima.

In a further embodiment, the running rails are fastened to supports and the supports are inserted into guide tubes which, encased in a layer of concrete, are embedded in the ground. These supports absorb high bracing forces and can be assembled or disassembled at any time. In order to be able to assemble or disassemble the running rails separately, they are attached to the supports with brackets. The guide tube lies on the lower end face on a T-beam, so that it rests on a concrete layer on this end face. The supports are expediently designed as double-T beams, which have a particularly high strength and low weight. The supports preferably lie with elevations on their outer jacket on the guide tubes so that they can be inserted easily and are nevertheless guided with little play. If the supports in the guide tubes rust, they can easily be separated from them, since only the elevations rust with the guide tubes.

In a further embodiment, the running rails are inserted into sleeves which are fastened to the supports. The sleeves enclose the running rails on the outer jacket, so that the running rails are practically not deformed by holding forces. As a result, the running rails are free of weld seams, which would result in increased thermal distortion. The rails can be easily fixed in the sleeves with clamping screws.

Finally, it is provided in one embodiment of the invention that the running rails are welded to reinforcing rails, as a result of which larger distances can be bridged between adjacent supports without overloading the running rails with tensioning forces. The reinforcement rails are preferably welded to the supports or the brackets.

Auf den T-Punkten 10,11 des Tennisplatzes - d.h. den Punkten auf denen sich die Aufschlaglinie und die Aufschlagmittellinie kreuzen - sind Stützen 12,13 angeordnet, auf denen die Abdeckplane 3 aufliegt.1 shows a tennis court 1 with a playing field 2 and a device according to the invention, the tarpaulin 3 of which is in the extended position, spanning the tennis court 1. On the long sides of the tennis court 1 there are rails 4, 5 for holding and guiding the tarpaulin 3. The tarpaulin 3 is fixed to the end faces 6.7 of the tennis court 1 with ground anchors 8.9. On the T-points 10.11 of the tennis court - i.e. the points on which the service line and the service center line intersect - supports 12, 13 are arranged on which the tarpaulin 3 rests.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the running tracks 4, 5 are mounted on supports 14, 14 ', so that the tarpaulin 3 is held on the long sides at a vertical distance from the tennis court 1. The running rails 4, 5 end on the sides in curved pieces 15, 16, 17, 18, which will be explained further below.

These are set so that the tarpaulin 3 in the central region 19 above their side suspensions is arranged. For example, rainwater that falls in the central area 19 is forced to the long sides of the tennis court. The direction of flow of the rainwater is better seen in FIGS. 4 and 5, which are cross sections through the device in the central region 19. It is also noteworthy that the central region 19 is suspended above the network 20 so that it does not need to be dismantled.

Between the supports 12, 13 and the end faces 6, 7, the rainwater runs off both on the long side and on the front side. Between the ridges 21 and 22 and the ridges 23 and 24 (FIG. 1), the tarpaulin 3 is arched downward (FIGS. 3 and 6), so that the rainwater is forcibly diverted from these areas to the end faces 6, 7 .

Insbesondere wird die begehbare Breite des Tennisplatzes durch die Vorrichtung praktisch nicht eingeschränkt, da diese in ohnehin vorhandene Seitenzäune integriert werden kann.7 to 12 show the device in the ready position, in which the two-part tarpaulin 3 is stowed on the end faces 6, 7 of the tennis court and in which the supports 12, 13 are removed from the playing field 2. 7 and 11 show, the space requirement of the device is extremely small. In particular, the width of the tennis court that can be walked on is practically not restricted by the device, since it can be integrated into side fences which are present anyway.

As shown in FIGS. 8 to 10, the tarpaulin 3 is stored in a meandering manner in the region of the arch pieces 15 to 18, the longitudinal openings 25 being fanned out between adjacent loops 26. The cover tarpaulin is delimited by the ground anchors 8.9 on the end faces 6.7. Because of its own weight, the tarpaulin 3 normally remains in the ready position.

This has a sinusoidal side 27 on the running rail 5, the maxima 28 of which are in the running rails 5 used, carriages 29 are suspended. In the case of the running rail 4, the tarpaulin 3 is designed accordingly because the maxima are directly opposite on both sides.

The following explanations relate to both the running rail 4 and the running rail 5, although reference is only made to the running rail 5. On its underside, the running rail 5 has drain holes 30 for rainwater. It is held by sleeves 31, which in turn are attached to supports 14. Between the sleeves 31, the running rail 5 carries reinforcing rails 32 with which it is fastened together on supports 14 '.

Details of the attachment and support of the running rails 4 and 5 can be better seen from FIGS. 14 to 18, which are explained below. The running rail 5 is fixed in the sleeves 31 by clamping screws 33. The sleeves 31 are welded to brackets 34 in such a way that the longitudinal slot 35 of the running rail 5 is slightly inclined to the horizontal. This enables an optimal introduction of force from the tarpaulin 3 via the carriage 29 into the running rail 5. The console 34 is in turn fastened to the support 14, which is designed as a double-T beam. The support 14 is inserted into a guide tube 36 which, surrounded by a concrete layer 37, rests in the ground 38. In order to also coat the guide tube 36 on the underside with the concrete layer, a T-beam 39 is placed there. The support 14 has elevations 40 on the crossbeams, which in particular prevent the entire surface from rusting in the guide tube.

Die Konsole 41 ist auf einer Stütze 14' befestigt, welche wie die Stütze 14 im Erdreich gelagert ist.17 shows a running rail 5 which is welded to a bracket with a reinforcing rail 32 with a box profile. The console 41 is on a support 14 ' attached, which is supported like the support 14 in the ground.

In FIG. 20, the carriage 29 has been shown together with the lower edge 42 of the rail. The carriage 29 has a housing 43 which is extended to form a flange 44 which protrudes from the longitudinal slot 35 of the running rail 5. Four rollers 45 are rotatably mounted on the housing 43 and roll on the inner shoulders 46 of the running rail 5. Eyes 47 are welded to the end faces of the housing 43, into which bearing bolts 48 are inserted, which carry rotatable guide rollers 49. The guide rollers 49 engage in the longitudinal slot 35 of the running rail 5 and absorb lateral forces by rolling on the inner shoulders 46.

The tarpaulin 3 is screwed between the flange 44 and a plate 50. For this purpose, the flange 44 and the plate 50 have four bores 51 and 52 aligned with one another. The upper edge 53 of the plate 50 is rounded in accordance with the side 27 of the tarpaulin 3.

Das Bogenstück 16 ist im Querschnitt der Laufschiene 5 gleich, so daß in ihm Laufwagen 29 abrollen können.21 and 22 show an arc piece 16 which extends with a radius 54 to the tennis court 1. To fix it on the tennis court 1, the arch piece 16 is welded to a base plate 55, a reinforcing rib 56 being welded between the arch piece 16 and the base plate 55. For fixing to the tennis court 1, the base plate 55 has a bore 57. The arc piece 16 is the same in cross section of the running rail 5, so that carriages 29 can roll in it.

Bei eingestecktem Fixierbolzen 63 wird der Oberstempel 66 entsprechend der Verschiebung der Klemmvorrichtung 62 mitverschoben.23 shows a support 13, on the convex support surface 58 of which the tarpaulin 3 rests. The lower punch 59 of the support 13 has a base plate 60 at the lower end and an external thread 61 at the upper end, on which a screwable clamping device 62 is guided. A fixing bolt 63 can be inserted within an elongated hole 64 in bores 65 of the upper punch 66, wherein it rests on the upper edge of the clamping device 62. At inserted fixing bolt 63, the upper punch 66 is also moved in accordance with the displacement of the clamping device 62.

An seinem Mittelsteg trägt der Erdanker 9 in der Nähe des Schlagkopfes 68 eine Öse 69, an der ein Spannseil 70 zum Festzurren der Abdeckplane 3 befestigt ist.24 shows a ground anchor 9, which is hammered into the tennis court 1, in two views, which are shifted by 90 °. The ground anchor 9 consists of a T-profile which is chamfered on one side to a tip 67 and has a striking head 68 on the other side. On its central web, the ground anchor 9 has an eyelet 69 near the striking head 68, to which a tension cable 70 is fastened for lashing the tarpaulin 3.
